hysterectomy

Avatar m tn i had a hysterectomy when i was 21 and i have two lil grls and over the last two years my sex drive has dropped so much that i swear if i never had sex again that would be okay with me. but my husband of six years is running out of patience. i feel violated when we even talk about sex and i used to want to all the time we used to be all over each other our sex life was at least twice a day. and now its once a month and i hate every minute of it.
Avatar m tn Losing libido after hysterectomy is something common for women. I would suggest you to start talking about this with your girlfriend, try to be supportive and to comprehend with her emotions. If you both feel that you need more help I would suggest a vista to someone specialized , maybe a sexologist.

Avatar m tn m very lethargic and depressed. I have no libido. I have a lot of pain in my left knee and both hands for no apparent reason, I weighed 123 lbs the day of surgery and 109 when I finally left the hospital. I have gained back 3-5 lbs. I would like to know your opinion. When will I feel myself again, if ever? I was always very healthy, exercised and a non smoker. My son died of Hepatoblastoma at age 2 1/2.
Avatar f tn And then there are the problems associated with hysterectomy such as pelvic floor dysfunction and prolapse, altered anatomy and skeletal structures (spine, hips, rib cage placement and alignment leading to back, hip, midsection pain) and sexual dysfunction (reduced libido, arousal, response). Estrogen has been shown to mitigate some of the risks of the loss or failure of ovaries and to improve quality of life.
Avatar m tn i had a full hysterectomy 4 yrs ago and I suffer vaginal dryness along with pain during sex. and there is scar tissue that seems to hurt me most all the time. I was on hormone medications for 3 yrs and just recently switched to natural herb hormones black cohosh and since then the vaginal dryness has gotten worse. I have no desire or libido. I have tried vaginal gel such as ky, water, what can I do to help these problems?
Avatar n tn I had a complete hysterectomy last Nov. I am on hormones but, my problem is I can't achieve an orgasm I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's mental or if my hormones are messed up.I also have a problem getting aroused. It feels like I am going crazy.
Avatar f tn I had partial hysterectomy May 2013, Im 47yr. Now tired, low libido and starting to but on weight. Sr checked my thyroid and watching every 3 months, still normal at this point. Friend recommended Progesterone cream. Taking it a week but woke yesterday nausea, and headache? Is that from maybe to much Progesterone??
752468 tn?1237560359 I'm 62 and post menopausal. I have had vaginal discharge with blood more puss like at the beginning, and my white blood cell count was high when my Dr. did a vaginal swab. To make a long story short. I had a uterine biopsy and they found suspicious cells. I'm still bleeding and have a hysterectomy scheduled march 9. I have had breast tenderness also that no one seems to acknowledge. I too am very anxious about the outcome.
Avatar f tn I am 48, have had a hysterectomy at 27 due to cervical cancer, then lost right ovary at 29 due to a hernia. I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for two years and have no sex drive anymore. I love my boyfriend very much but this is killing our relationship. What can I do?
Avatar f tn It has been 1 yr and 4 months after my Partial Hysterectomy, It took a good 4 - 6 months to completely heal. I had a Partial Hysterectomy because my Gyn said I had Endometriosis. I had my Uterus and my Cervix removed. They left both my ovaries. They had to leave my ovaries, because I have Essential Thrombocytosis (ET), (which is a platelet disorder, My bone Marrow produces too many platelets in my blood, causing clotting). I take meds to lower my platelet count.
Avatar f tn I hear you on the bladder and bowel issues! I've had them since my hysterectomy too. I don't have painful sex but I have no libido so no sex happening. I would think that ovarian cysts could exacerbate bladder and bowel issues. Not sure about painful sex. If you've had that since your hysterectomy, then cysts are not likely the cause. That would be more apt to be a vaginal cuff problem, a too short vagina, vaginal atrophy, or endometriosis (if you have that).
Avatar n tn No, it's not necessary. Why remove body parts that are perfectly functional? Find another gynocologist. I had to see three gynocologists before i was happy. A hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) has long term effects on a woman's health, longevity, and sexuality. Women who have undergone a hysterectomy have a greater risk of a heart attack (triple the risk according to some studies), osteoporosis, and depression.
Avatar n tn I googled a search for trouble urinating after hysterectomy and found you guys. I too have the same problems, pain in abdomen that doubles me over and problems urinating, but i always feel i have to go. I am in the bathroom every few minutes trying to go. This is my second bout since my partial hysterectomy on 10-07-08. I was treated for a UTI even though my urine sample was negative.
1636803 tn?1300289880 if I have the ovaries removed--will it effect my sex drive and what else does it effect? As I sit here and type now--my bottom is in so much pain and I am cramping! I DO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK MARCH 22ND!!!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Avatar f tn My mommy knows some of what I can do for this as she was a smoker when she hit menopause so that calms me some but I have read some horror stories .... what kinds of things did you go through after a complete hysterectomy and did you use hormones?
Avatar f tn Hysterectomy (regardless of whether or not ovaries are removed) increases risk of thyroid and kidney (renal cell) cancer. The uterus and cervix are also key to orgasm (and possibly libido). The uterine ligaments are the pelvis' support structures which is why hysterectomy destroys the skeletal structure (spine, hips, rib cage) causing chronic back and hip pain as well as a not so attractive figure. Hysterectomy is recommended MUCH more frequently than it should be.
401095 tn?1351391770 (hi worried!) i was told to take it because i had a total and complete hysterectomy almost a year ago....and all of my hormones are still way unbalanced and out of whack -- estradiol, estrone, progesterone, DHEA, testosterone, cortisol -- you name it, they're out of balance because my organs which normally produce most of those hormones were taken out....so far, only estrogen (n the form of biest cream) and progesterone have been replaced (using specially compounded bioidentical creams)...
Avatar f tn And the low libido? What libido?? And yes, the fatigue!!! I get you so much! It is inexplicable. You wake up feeling as if you haven't just slept at all. Everything tires you out. There is never any energy. I am on a boatload of meds, but nothing helps the fatigue. The only thing that ever helped was Vit D. My levels were incredibly low, which I was told was common in Autoimmunes. Sunshine is the best way I get my Vit D, which helps boost your Serotonin levels, which helps the depression.
Avatar f tn I was told I had indometriosis and that surgery didnt work so I had a complete hysterectomy. Since the first surgery it takes me almost an hour to have an orgasmn if not longer. My boyfriend thinks it that Im not interested I am horny all the time and very wet, No dryness problems at all so is this and age thing?, Did the surgery cause issues? Or what? I have even used creams and a libdo pill they sell over the counter at walmart and they dont help.
Avatar f tn I blame mine on the Birth control pill which i recently went off of and so far very slowly ive gotten more of a libido. One thing you could try was you said if your husband stimulates you with his hand before sex you can orgasm but then afterward it hurts to have sex....thats normal generally the vagina is a little sore right after orgasm so why dont you try having your husband stimulate you during insertion....thats what we do and it totally works!
617977 tn?1225449218 Hi,I am also Bipolar and 48 years old, I had a Hysterectomy (uterus, ovaries, tubes and cervix) I hadn't started the menopause at that time and was prescribed 2mg Climival (HRT) that was 2 years ago this week and I have not had any problems whatsoever. I was diagnosed Bipolar 3 months after the operation but my late diagnosis was due to me refusing to see a Psychiatrist. One of my pre op worries was about the effect it would have on my libido but I haven't noticed any difference.

Avatar f tn Thank you - I've done quite a bit of research myself and am in medical school - as you know, there is WAY too much conflicting info out there for this little known affliction...I'm with you - I'm not considering letting it get between us, but don't want to be totally blinded either...love and libido sometimes does that!
Avatar f tn some omentum removal, some lymph nodes removed, I think an apendectomy diaphram scrapping (my terms not his) and something else or do the the original surgery and take a wait and see approach? If in the rare instance it is malignant (which he does not think it would be) then the surgery would pretty much be the same. My question is if it is benign, mucinous or serous cystadenoma, should I just go for the hysterectomy anyway and get rid of all furture concerns?
Avatar f tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Thyroidectomy about 3 years ago (multi-nodular goiters, thyroid 5x the size) no cancer detected, and hysterectomy 3 months after the thyroidectomy. As the years have passed, feeling generally ill has turned into a total disabling condition of which, no doc can seem to figure out.
Avatar m tn I am 38 years old and married. I was perfectly normal and having high libido with no problems of erection. I have been using A-Z multivitamin tablets (either centrum or boots) along with one or two fish oil capsules for the last 3 years. I had an ongoing hair fall since my teen ages, which sometimes slowed down, specifically when I was back home in Pakistan. When I was in the UK, the hair fall increased. It's in the family. It never completely stopped.
