Hysterectomy and granulation tissue

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and granulation tissue

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn HI, Bleeding after a hysterectomy can be because of local factors like vaginitis or ulcers or granulation tissue at the site of sutures. An internal examination will make matters clear. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi Jane... I posted earlier in the week about the exact same thing although my gyne was fairly certain it was tumor spread and not granulation tissue - I guess I should call and get the results of the biopsy to double check that. I don't know how much that would affect your CA125? I mean, if it's coming through the vagina, then wherever it's inflamed on the inside you can bet it's just as inflamed on the outside as well (I would think).
1785493 tn?1314906051 granulation tissue? I've looked it up online because my surgeons have never really said. I'm pretty sure that's what this is. My j-tube was placed around the 8th of July. The surgeons said that this was normal, but it's bloody, there's nasty fluid that looks like formula that comes out of it and it hurts really bad--almost like I've had surgery. It's such a pain. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just get a new j-tube put in... Idk what to do.
Avatar f tn Differential diagnosis should include granulation tissue along the posterior vagina, vaginitis, hemorrhoids, and trauma. Lastly, cervical and vaginal cancer. The simplest thing to do is be examined by your gynecologist. The word total hysterectomy would indicate to me that your cervix was removed. You did not use these words. Please have your gynecologist confirm that you cervix was indeed removed. I hope this helps.
Avatar n tn The MRI findings show granulation tissue at the level of C4-C5. Granulation tissue is a fibrous connective tissue which grows from the base of the wound and fills it up completely. This granulation tissue can be the result of surgery. There is also a bony spur at level of C5-C6. Bony spurs in this region can cause symptoms of cervical radiculopathy like pain in the shoulder and arms. A plain X ray will help in confirming the diagnosis of this bony spur. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn HI, Bleeding several years after a hysterectomy can be due to granulation that grows at the site of suturing in the vaginal vault. It can also be due to growths in the vagina like polyps or cancer. Hence an examination with a gynaecologist and Pap smear are necessary to find out the cause of bleeding. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn If the infection does not heal, then I am afraid, the wound has to be opened again and then regular dressings with specific antibiotic have to be done until the wound is a healthy wound with red granulation tissue and then stitches have to be reapplied. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
755167 tn?1233762206 I have noticed a lot that food gets packed into sockets and can hide problems, or look like granulation tissue.
Avatar f tn I go to the doctor where they keep finding granulation tissue and sutures at the vaginal cuff coming thru. Every time they are yanked out, within a few days, I feel better and the bleeding stops. Then the cycle begins again. You might want to have your GYN look into that (pardon the pun). I wish you well.

Avatar n tn The granulation tissue that grows after the surgery can produce these symptoms due to pressure effects. The trigger thumb will take some more time to heal. You should take opinion of the physical therapist for some light exercises of the hand. Make sure the carpal tunnel syndrome does not recur.
Avatar f tn I had a hemorrhoidectomy over a month ago. Went to a check up and found out I have hyper granulation tissue that's causing my wound to not finish healing. So I have to have another procedure. They are going to cut off most of the tissue then use silver nitrate to cauterize the wound. My question is, I just went through a very painful experience with my first procedure will this second one be worse? What's the average healing time? Is there anything I can expect?
Avatar f tn Aug 29 I had cystocele/rectocele, paravaginal repair. I thought that I was pretty much healed then started to have a bloody vaginal discharge. Doctor said that I had "granulation tissue" and he prescribed estrace 3 times per week. At first, I seemed to have a positive response to the estrace treatment. For some reason I have had difficulty remembering to take it on the exact day I should, but have still been using the medicine.
1116823 tn?1303072844 the usual reason skin will not re-approximate is granulation tissue between the edges. Silver nitrate gets rid of the granulation tissue and the edges grow together. Now. if there is no grainy, pink granulation tissue in the way, the wound needs to have the edges freshened (after numbing, using a scalpel) and the fresh edges brought together with stitchs.
1354136 tn?1331875317 i have granulation tissue that is being treated with silver nitrate sticks. so far i have received two treatments and i was wondering how long until you see some results? thank you.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had a vaginal hysterectomy removing my uterus, cervix and one ovary.. still have one left. one year ago. I ended up hemorrhaging a week after the hysterectomy.. I actually have stage 2 Cystocele & Rectocele. But we are going to hold off with doing any sort of surgery for right now, going to try some physical therapy. I also have a 1 cm area of Granulation on the vaginal cuff that is going to have to have surgery at some point to repair as its very sensitive and I have had bleeding.
647350 tn?1228618670 Hi There, I too had a total hysto and appy on 10/15. Mine was done robotically, so thank God, I didn't have the big laparotomy incision, just six small sites. I experienced bleeding for quite some time. I didn't notice any watery or mucus discharge. When I went for my f/u a month later, the surgeon put some silver nitrate on my vaginal cuff incision as it was developing granulation tissue that wasn't allowing an are a to heal.
Avatar n tn As I posted b4, the prob I had with the smell was coming from granulation tissue (scar tissue), that had formed in the open space of my cracked tooth. There is no telling how long I lived with the smell, as I could not smell it, and even after the smell became so prominent, no one would be honest with me about it. The only reason I even found out about the problem, is because I'm smart enough to know when people are "attempting" to talk about me over my head!!!
3185070 tn?1344700577 Just went to the gyn yesterday and he sees no infection but granulation tissue on my vaginal cuff that he said could cause the odor.
Avatar f tn The name comes from two Latin words that mean a swelling of granulation tissue in the lymph nodes resulting from sexual intercourse. Granulation tissue is tissue that forms during wound or ulcer healing that has a rough or lumpy surface.
3223383 tn?1346474163 m trying to shrink a rather small amount of granulation tissue in the corners of my eye, so Dr. Tseng in Miami recommended that I do the Kenalog treatment. I don't think he means for a long period of time.
Avatar f tn My gyno is wonderful and considered the best. I even asked him about endometro tissue breaking though my vaginal cuff, he thought it was a possibility until he gave me a thorough examination (no ultrasound), he said there is absolutely nothing wrong inside my vagina, no discoloration, no, tears, no swelling and most certainly no bleeding. Only blood is just on the inside of my vagina. I'm perplexed! Can anyone help?? BTW, I do not suffer from dryness either.
Avatar f tn Yes what are they are seeing and quoting measurments of and where they mentioned the granulation tissue, those are things I've never saw before, trying to get an idea because my surgeon has retired
