Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy and granulation

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn I had a partial hysterectomy, bladder sling, and rectal sling done May 2010. I have been bleeding for the past 7 -8 years. I have had the granulation tissue silver nitrated too many times to count, I have had in scraped out with no drugs ( which I tried not to scream during) once, and I’ve been anesthetized for scraping twice. No matter what it comes back. The bleeding is none stop.
Avatar f tn m 34, I had a almost complete hysterectomy (1 ovary left) last June. Surgery went well and recovery was good too. Now for the past several months I have some discomfort to my left lower pelvic area and I bleed after intercourse, then spot for a few days. I don't have my cervix anymore so I'm really not sure what could be causing this. I heard of adhesions, but not sure if they cause me to bleed??
Avatar f tn HI, Bleeding after a hysterectomy can be because of local factors like vaginitis or ulcers or granulation tissue at the site of sutures. An internal examination will make matters clear. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
3185070 tn?1344700577 I just went in a year after my hysterectomy for an odor and the gyn said it was granulation tissue. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn HI, Bleeding several years after a hysterectomy can be due to granulation that grows at the site of suturing in the vaginal vault. It can also be due to growths in the vagina like polyps or cancer. Hence an examination with a gynaecologist and Pap smear are necessary to find out the cause of bleeding. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Differential diagnosis should include granulation tissue along the posterior vagina, vaginitis, hemorrhoids, and trauma. Lastly, cervical and vaginal cancer. The simplest thing to do is be examined by your gynecologist. The word total hysterectomy would indicate to me that your cervix was removed. You did not use these words. Please have your gynecologist confirm that you cervix was indeed removed. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had a vaginal hysterectomy removing my uterus, cervix and one ovary.. still have one left. one year ago. I ended up hemorrhaging a week after the hysterectomy.. I actually have stage 2 Cystocele & Rectocele. But we are going to hold off with doing any sort of surgery for right now, going to try some physical therapy. I also have a 1 cm area of Granulation on the vaginal cuff that is going to have to have surgery at some point to repair as its very sensitive and I have had bleeding.
1785493 tn?1314906051 Granulation tissue is relatively common with G or J tubes and it should be taked care of either by having it burned off by a doctor or there are some ointments that supposedly work. If you've had your J-tube for that long, it shouldn't be having that many problems, so you might need a new J tube.
18649008 tn?1466619883 As a HCP and having experienced my own need to have wounds heal by granulation..I have never heard of "Sugar-betadine" treatment that is used by DVM's when a surgical removal requires post-granulation. Yesterday, my dog had Sebaceous Adenoma removed at dew claw site reaching the width of entire foot's ankle leaving pads unaffected. ?? 2-3 cm X4-5 cm. I had no idea that the wound would have to heal by granulation and treated with sugar-betadine paste for several months.
755167 tn?1233762206 I told her that my dentist said that a clot was in there very nicely and granulation was forming. What is your opinion?
Avatar f tn Hi Jane... I posted earlier in the week about the exact same thing although my gyne was fairly certain it was tumor spread and not granulation tissue - I guess I should call and get the results of the biopsy to double check that. I don't know how much that would affect your CA125? I mean, if it's coming through the vagina, then wherever it's inflamed on the inside you can bet it's just as inflamed on the outside as well (I would think).
647350 tn?1228618670 I have a lot of pain in my sides when trying to get up and down, and my walking is almost a crawl, but that is all easily dealt with. The thing that has me concerned is the discharge that I am still having. I was told to expect somewhat of a bloody discharge so that does not concern me too much. What does concern me is twice today I had a watery/bloody discharge. The first time it was bad, but not too bad.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, I will just be on the hormone treatment until the one tube is empty. That is the only hormone therapy I'm on. I did have a complete hysterectomy probably 20 years ago and took Premarin for several years, but no longer take it. Yes, he was a urogynecologist. I probably should give him a call. I just hate to go in if it's nothing. It only happens the morning after the application of the medicine.
Avatar n tn Since then my wrist has become weak and more recently I developed a trigger thumb in same hand, my right hand.

Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 49 years old had a Total LAVH 4 years ago, so no uterus and no cervix. Yesterday morning I woke up went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood when I wiped. I also had some cramping. I made sure that it was vaginal before I called my GYNO. He saw me a few hours later and told me he found no blood in the vagina just at the opening and asked me if I'd had sex...not for 4 days, asked me if I had burning or itching...no.
1116823 tn?1303072844 the usual reason skin will not re-approximate is granulation tissue between the edges. Silver nitrate gets rid of the granulation tissue and the edges grow together. Now. if there is no grainy, pink granulation tissue in the way, the wound needs to have the edges freshened (after numbing, using a scalpel) and the fresh edges brought together with stitchs.

3185070 tn?1344700577 Just went to the gyn yesterday and he sees no infection but granulation tissue on my vaginal cuff that he said could cause the odor.
Avatar f tn I had a hemorrhoidectomy over a month ago. Went to a check up and found out I have hyper granulation tissue that's causing my wound to not finish healing. So I have to have another procedure. They are going to cut off most of the tissue then use silver nitrate to cauterize the wound. My question is, I just went through a very painful experience with my first procedure will this second one be worse? What's the average healing time? Is there anything I can expect?
Avatar m tn It feels like the blood flow is partially blocked through the left rear of my head. I awake to my head pounding on left side, and my heart pounding. If I roll over to my right side or onto my stomach (with head to the right), then the symptoms slowly subside over the next 30 minutes. Last year I had MRIs done and the only abnormality mentioned was a giant arachnoid granulation.
