Hysterectomy adenomyosis

Common Questions and Answers about Hysterectomy adenomyosis

hysterectomy

Avatar f tn My insurance refused to pay for a hysterectomy for adenomyosis untill everything else had been ruled out. The problem with Adenomyosis is that it can't be 100% proven untill the uterus is removed and tested. So basically I had to jump through alot of hoops before insurance would pay. Have you had other things ruled out? I ask because after all my years of pain and bleeding, once I had my hysterectomy and the testing was done, I found out I did not have Adenomyosis after all.
Avatar f tn reliance on USS findings, adenomyosis often remains undiagnosed before a hysterectomy. An earlier diagnosis of adenomyosis requires a good history, correlation of clinical examination and ultrasound scan findings and a back-up MRI service. Once adenomyosis is suspected, women can be appropriately counselled so that they are fully aware of the possible failure of conservative management.
Avatar f tn Hi, having had a hysterectomy because of adenomyosis and founding the global not for profit organisation Adenomyosis Advice Association, please feel free to visit the website and look through the options you have. Should you need to email me, please feel free to do so via the site or via Facebook or Twitter pages.
Avatar f tn I was put on everything till the only option was a hysterectomy. I didnt want a hysterectomy and I even got a second opinion through all this mess. It is not something you take lightly. It is a major surgery. educate yourself and get a second opinion! I told my gyn I was and he even gave me names of colleges he trusted. They couldn't get my periods to stop and I wouldnt go on lupron. My gyn said your body will get to a point that says enough is enough and it will give you more signs.

967168 tn?1477584489 I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis ; I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.
Avatar f tn s been suggested that I have adenomyosis and that I should strongly consider having a hysterectomy. I have a very rare coagulapathy (a polymorphism) and am on Lovenox, so I've now seemingly run out of treatment options, as I can't use traditional BC. My main question is: Can adenomyosis alone cause infertility? If there is a chance that I could get pregnant, I would postpone having a hysterectomy as long as I could.
Avatar n tn I had friend in the same position of wanting one, for adenomyosis, came to my doctor to be able to get the hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn Finally in July 2009, I went to to specialist who diagnosed me with adenomyosis. I was bleeding tons and tons then and had to be operated (total hysterectomy-ovaries intact) on right away. After the operation in July, had to stay in bed for weakness (lost a lot of blood) but was not getting stronger. Noticed that I was getting muscle cramps, sleepy all the time, tired, moody and gaining weight. I went to a doctor who ordered a hormone test and results are: TSH 4.94 normal .27-4.
Avatar f tn The majority of cyst in reproductive age women are benign and do not necessarily warrant surgical intervention. Uterine adenomyosis is a common finding at the time of hysterectomy. If surgical intervention is not advised by your gynecologist, consider the mirena IUD. Thank you, Erich T.
Avatar n tn 3mm with fluid in cavity and tiny subendometrial cysts suggesting possible adenomyosis. Family history of uterine cancer. Scheduled for D&C. Worried about developing cancer and want to know what is best course of action for my diagnosis. If D&C is best course of action, what should I be expecting in follow-up care?
Avatar n tn On the day of surgery, my gyn sat down and told me that she thought I may be dealing with adenomyosis. Up until this point, I have to say I had not experienced any discomfort or pain. Again, the only thing I was dealing with were progressively heavy periods. I started to panic as she was throwing around words like incurable and hysterectomy... all of this immediately prior to surgery. I had the surgery in mid-July and have not been the same since.

Avatar n tn It might be worth considering adenomyosis as well - it can't be seen during laparoscopic surgery or on mri's (there are some clues there, but can't be confirmed) - I was just told by my doctor, after very similar symptoms to yours for 2 years now, that this might be what i have.
967168 tn?1477584489 I'm waiting on my regular gyn to confirm everything but the Dr doing my sono today said nothing looks "suspicious" for cancer; just worsening Endometriosis & Adenomyosis from my surgery in 2005 and last tests in 2007. I have to wait until Monday to talk to my regular Gyn he's not in the office on Friday's even though they set up my appt with him.
Avatar f tn they were all great but I am still scared that I will never feel normal again. This is my fourth surgery in seven years including a complete hysterectomy. This is my first attempt at excision and I could use some reassurance from any of you who have had success with this surgery....thanks!
Avatar f tn s no cure for Adenomyosis. A hysterectomy is the only way to get rid of it. Adeno can be in the uterus and cervix.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am 39 years old and was diagnosed with adenomyosis and endometriosis years ago. My husband and I have been TTC for 8 years now with no success. We have done about 8 cycles of IVF. I did get pregnant with my first IVF but only to miscarry at 7 wks. Then no positive results try after try until we finally decided to use donor eggs. I got pregnant the first try with those but miscarried very early on this time at 5 weeks.
Avatar f tn The Dr called today with the results of the US, the cyst is has grown and is complex, I have Adenomyosis and Uterine Polyps. Has anyone heard of having all three of these at the same time? What type of treatment do they do on this? Should I be worried about cancer? The Dr is sending me Wed to have blood work done and I go to the Dr next week to talk to her on what we are going to do. I am kind of worried so any input would be nice.
463897 tn?1468013750 Hi please be careful what you put on your comments as you told someone the only way to 100% diagnose ADENOMYOSIS is through having a hysterectomy THIS IS NOT TRUE!I was diagnosed in Jun 2010 by MRI SCAN 100% definate they can see the endometri on the scans! Do you have any medical background to be giving advice on this subject?I wouldnt like to think thaat your comment would sway someone into haven a hysterectomy for no reason.
Avatar f tn I am considering the Uterine Fibroids Embolization (UFE) procedure to relieve me of my fibroids and adenomyosis symptoms. However, I also have endometriomas in both ovaries. I am 47 years old and I weigh 145 pounds at 5ft 6inches tall. I have never been pregnant. Also, I was once told that I may have polycystic ovaries due to an enlargement of my ovaries. I was told by my GYN at that time that my ovaries were filled with several small cyst.
Avatar f tn Once I awoke, I was told that the tubal patency test had failed (my uterus had instantly contracted and the dye was nowhere to be found) and that I had adenomyosis. Since the insertion of the mirena, I have been in constant severe pain. I can only assume this is caused by repeated contractions of my uterus trying to expel the foreign body. I had an ultrasound last week that confirmed it was still in place and just had another Zoladex implant injected.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 50 yrs old and 2 years postmenopausal. I have just been diagnosed through M.R.I with probable adenomyosis. From what I've read, adenomyosis usually resolves itself after menopause. What confuses me is, I had no symptoms of it pre-menopausal, my periods were like clockwork, very normal, no pelvic pain or cramps, and no spotting between cycles. Now I'm having almost constant pain with some spotting.
Avatar m tn , a hysterectomy. This may be a controversial topic for some, and I have thought ling and hard, and I am still thinking about it. I am 20 years old, and have endometriosis, adenomyosis and small cysts on my ovaries. My periods have always been exceptionally heavy, and have only got heavier and more painful.
Avatar f tn And I saw my obgyn back on march 4 and age told me that i may have adenomyosis . What does this all mean ? Is having a paraovarian cyst dangerous ? And by the measurements of my uterus does that means it's somewhat enlarged ? What's going on with me ? Can someone help me ! Plz . Would this mean I would need surgery ? I'm only 22 yrs old and a mother of 2 bby girls .I forgot to add that my actual uterus measured 8.5 x 3.5 x 5.8cm . Is that an enlarged uterus to be concerned ?
188576 tn?1287719062 I recently had surgery to remove a huge mass on my ovary and had to have my left ovary removed as well. My doctor told me that I have adenomyosis. Has anyone ever had this or heard of this? He told me it's more common among women who have already had children. I have two girls but I am only 28. After surgery I felt so much better, no more constant cramping and being tired.
