hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn You don't say if you have type 1 diabetes. How low does your blood sugar drop at how long after eating. Then how high does it spike? Are you on medication or insulin?
Avatar n tn hypoglycemia is low blood sugar, and it is increasingly prevalent in our society. Hypoglycemia can cause an array of symptoms, including spaciness, fatigue, mood changes, PMS, sugar craving, headaches, difficulty focusing the eyes, tremors, temperamental outbursts, depression, excessive sweating, hot flashes, palpitations, cold extremities, abdominal pain, and panic attacks.
Avatar f tn An intravenous blood sample to test your blood sugar level at the time of these signs and symptoms is the only way to know for sure that hypoglycemia is the cause. It's my guess that's what it was and after you ate the apple you felt better. Please see your doctor just to be sure!
Avatar f tn She also feels very jittery and heavy breathing. Blurred vision is also a common symptom she experiences. Also overheating seems to be common as well. She is 19 years old, female, she is hypoglycemic and has asthma. If you could share what you may think it is that would be great! She has already been to the hospital and had a ct scan. She is waiting for results but have been waiting for some time. Thank you in advance for the help!

Avatar m tn So, lately I have been experiencing symptoms what seems to be hypoglycemia. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS, and now I am trying to figure out the other symptoms. like lightheadedness after meals, not being able to stand still, heart palpations and being heat intolerant, dizziness and chest tightness and being tired plus headaches and a lack of appetite and nausea a lot with some tunnel vision or glared vision(things seem too bright).
Avatar n tn We are not doctors on this Forum, but folks who either are parents of type 1 children or type 1 diabetic folks ourselves. Yes, your symptoms do sound like those of hypoglycemia, but an infection can also cause drenching sweats. When your body is battling an infection, stress hormones are released, and it is possible, I suppose, that your body is just not functioning at its best right now. Whether you have had mild hypoglycemia before or not, of course, we can't tell.
Avatar n tn But the most common symptoms are excessive thirst and urination, especially at night, feeling tired all the time and possibly weight loss and vision problems. You may also experience symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if you skip meals, which can be feeling shaky, sweating, blurry vision, and feeling cranky or "spacey". These feelings go away when you eat.
Avatar n tn Today I was cashing out of the store and my vision went and I could hear and ringing/buzz I was out for 3 minutes according to my boyfriend I'm 16weeks what might have caused this?
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn Lately, I have noticed towards the end of my workout, during the cool down, the last 10 minutes, I begin to feel lightheaded...I get the strobelight effect in the middle of my vision, and my entire field of vision begins to darken somewhat. At first, I thought this is near syncope, but recently I had a severe occurrence which my instinct told me to take my blood sugar, so I do and it was 39. I was on the verge of collapse and quickly drank a 12 oz soda and some orange juice.
Avatar n tn Yes, the symptoms you report do sound like hypoglycemia-low blood sugar. Low blood sugar can be experienced by both type 2's and type 1's, though severe hypoglycmia is more often associated with insulin use. You don't say what treatment(s) you are using: low carb diet, oral meds or insulin. You also don't say what your blood sugar is when you experience these symptoms. You need to test your blood sugar on a regular basis especially when you feel "off".

Avatar f tn I don't want to be posting in the wrong place or anything, but this has been bothering me and I can't see a doctor for awhile because of some family complications, schedules, etc., so if anyone has the time please bear with me for this story. Avatar f tn Sounds like you may have become hypoglycemic, google hypoglycemia and see if it matches your symptoms. I've had that happen to me while riding my bike as well. I get restricted vision, the shakes and lightheaded and can usually feel it coming on. You don't have to be diabetic for this to happen, depends on how you eat before working out.
