Hypoglycemia symptoms low blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia symptoms low blood pressure

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn Though not the typical symptoms of hypoglycemia; similar symptoms could also be caused due to autonomic disturbances, blood pressure issues, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities etc. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.
Avatar n tn Your husband could be suffering from postural or orthostatic hypotension in which the blood pressure falls on standing up. Other than this it can be hypoglycemia or vasovagal attack. Since he also gets temperature fluctuations, the first things to be ruled out are thyroid disorders, adrenal gland problems, anemia, diabetes, hypoglycemia, liver diseases, low Vit B12, and vasovagal attacks. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
Avatar n tn You need to get examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension (fall in blood pressure, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD or gastric reflux, and internal ear infections. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Avatar n tn Low blood sugars can be VERY scary and hard to deal with. You may want to talk to your Dr. about getting a prescription and training as to how to use a Glucophage kit. This is essentially a large dose of sugar in the form of a shot to use in severe low blood sugar situations. Also you will need to have those around you trained in its use as well in case you can not get food and sugar fast enough on your own.
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn Recently he was back in the ER after having a severe fainting spell from low blood pressure and hypoglycemia. He was feeling the afib that morning but it was gone when the paramedics checked his heartrate. His pituitary tumor was not visible on the catscan in the ER this time (they compared it to the one from 3 years back). They sent him home from ER with normal xray of his heart and all his bloodwork comes back within normal range from recent dr. visits except low vitamin D.

Avatar f tn I do suffer from Chronic fatique syndrome, low blood pressure and occasional anxiety. Thankyou for your time.
Avatar n tn I also have low blood pressure which complicates the issue. When my sugar levels drop my blood pressure follows suit and I get to the point of passing out. I haven't seen a doctor, but I've been reading articles that lead me to believe that I may be pre-diabetic. The only thing is I don't understand how you can go from having low blood sugar to being a diabeitc. I thought diabetics had too much sugar in their blood stream.
1778927 tn?1381878747 There are actually two types of hypoglycemia, one is known as drug-related hypoglycemia and happens almost exclusively in diabetics and the second is called non-drug-related hypoglycemia and can be further divided into FASTING hypoglycemia, in which hypoglycemia occurs after NOT eating, and reactive hypoglycemia, in which hypoglycemia occurs as a reaction TO eating, usually of carbohydrates.
784382 tn?1376931040 You can discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis or compression of cervical spinal nerves. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position or when you change position that results in a change in the level of your head. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck.
Avatar n tn Hello you may have hypoglycemia-low blood sugar. Try eating some peanut butter crackers and juice or regular cola next time the symptoms start to see if it helps. If you can eat 6 small meals a day it will probably stop your symptoms all together.
Avatar n tn I saw him for annual appointment (he started me on florinef a year ago for low blood pressure). At this appointment my BP was still very low, blood tests showed low blood sugar on a few occasions and I'd lost over 20lbs without trying. He suspect AI, so he tested for cortisol, acth, glucose, etc & 24 hour UFC. 24 hour UFC was low, serum cortisol was normal but inappropriately low due to low blood sugar of 2.6.
Avatar f tn It sure sounds like hypoglycemia to me (low blood sugar) You are having all the symptoms of it for sure. I would call your doctor and have a fasting glucose level and A1C blood drawn, and, if possible ask for the 6 hours glucose tolerance test, it is not fun, but, it will sure catch it. In the meantime. you should purchase a glucose monitor and check your blood at home, especially during one of those episodes.

Avatar m tn Dizziness could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), internal ear problems and cervical spondylitis. All these cause dizziness when you get up from lying down position. Cervical spondylitis and ear problems also cause dizziness on changing the position of the neck. Other causes of dizziness are anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems. Since you are overweight cervical spondylitis is possible.
863754 tn?1239144755 As far as we know, the renal failure didn't show up, until after she was in the hospital with the low blood glucose. Insulinomas is exactly what I was thinking, though I didn't know the word for it. I just did a lot of reading and used a little deductive reasoning. One question though... Her glucose levels have increased and, now, stabilized. If Insulinomas, or any of the other potential causes, are present, could her glucose levels have stabilized like they did?
Avatar n tn It is possible low blood sugar could cause these symptoms, but sounds more like high blood sugar to me. Do you test? If you are not diagnosed with diabetes you should see a doctor to find out the reason for your symptoms.
Avatar m tn I've been suffering on and off from what I think is some kind of metabolic disorder or low blood sugar level. I've always gotten the typical irritability/shakiness when hungry ever since I was little, but it seems really out of hand right now. Before a meal/when I'm hungry, I have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia and have to eat NOW to feel better. So I'll eat a snack or my usual meal, but about 30mins to 1hour later I get tired, weak, lightheaded and hot flushes.
