hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar n tn Stars in the vision could be due to postural hypotension (blood pressure falling with change of position), anemia, GERD, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems. They could also be floaters in the vision, which need to be checked by an optometrist. Lowering of blood pressure suddenly too causes stars in the vision. These are harmless. I think you should discuss this with your doctor. Get your blood pressure checked. Check to see if you have postural hypotension.
Avatar f tn A while back, last summer, I had been on a road trip from minnesota back to missouri, I hardly ate anything but a little bit of puppy chow and some cheese curds, that night while trying to unpack before eating I got really dizzy and shaky, I realize at this point it was most likely from low blood sugar due to not eating, but not every time I go for a few hours without eating when I start to feel hungry I get really shaky and anxious, do you think this is hypoglycemia developing or just associati
Avatar m tn On a recent visit to my periodontal dentist, I received an injection to numb my gums for surgery. After the injection, my blood sugar level sent me into hypoglycemia and I had to have some apple sauce to bring up my blood sugar level before continuing. I have never had hypoglycemia before.
Avatar f tn I have been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, i guess about 2 months now. During the summer I continued to run cross country, and after about 2 weeks I figured out how to keep my levels up enough for practice. Now that school has started my whole routine has changed. I've changed from practicing at 7 in the mornign to 3:45 in the afternoon, and first I couldn't practice, but then I got the hang of it and my levels were conrolled.
3923358 tn?1358552214 I bought a meter because i like keeping track and my doctor reccomends it due to type 1 running in the family. About 1/2 after i ate I started to feel sort of out of it and so I tested it and my blood sugar was 69, is that low. Also yesterday my fasting glucose was 131. Should I be concerned?
Avatar n tn Just from the very brief description you wrote, this sounds more like hypoglycemia to me... that's when glucose levels go too low rather than too high as in diabetes. You might want to try sipping about a half cup of orange juice when you feel this way, and see if you feel better within about 15 minutes to a half hour. If so, then this would indicate that your blood sugar is running too low.
1771184 tn?1314037179 it does sound like you have hypoglycemia .. that's when blood sugar goes up and down and it needs monitoring by the Doctor at intervals ,,if you had a bloodtest and it was a bit low it tells me that you do need to eat properly, and in fact mom is right, although a bowl of Cereal in the morns and some toast /yoghourt may help . Eat at regular intervals don't go hours without food , breakfast then a mid day healthy snack , small meals at regular intervals does help .
Avatar n tn I have been checking her levels periodically to see what they say and they have been running around 130-131 a couple of hours after her supper.
2154088 tn?1336592380 My dog has been having the symptoms of hypoglycemia for most of his life, which have started becoming severe lately. He has a serious food aversion from an illness he had as a puppy, so he tends to miss meals and be an extremely picky eater (an issue we are constantly working on). There are times he may go without eating much for nearly 24 hours and when this happens I give when Nutri-Cal or a product called Stat.
1348086 tn?1370783185 I am not a doctor but I do suffer from hypoglycemia where if I don't eat I get dizzy and feel like I am going to pass out. I have had this since I was a teen and am not diabetic at all and after years of only eating 2 tiny bits of food a day, of course to lose weight as teens are prone to doing, I learned that 7 protein meals a day kept my blood sugar running nice and smooth.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 Weeks and just haven't been feeling right. I have had hypoglycemia (my sugar can drop as low as 40s non pregnant) for years so I can test my sugar at home when I need to. With not feeling right i've tested it last night and today some. Last night it was running high 130s before I ate dinner and this morning my fasting was 126. So I worry about this? I have my 1 hr gtt on the 16th but don't know of I should try to move it sooner.
1852495 tn?1319545790 This all really started Friday. I had a short period of time where my hands were very shaky. Then Saturday I woke up and was very sick to my stomach. I never threw up but felt like I would. Yesterday I woke up feeling a little sick to my stomach again but it went away within an hour. By 1pm I started feeling extremely tired like I might pass out if I didn't go to sleep. By 3 I was running a low grade fever that lasted a couple of hours.
Avatar m tn Hi and thanks for your reply. First, I'm definitely NOT a type 1 diabetic. Thankfully that was not my lot. My concern is regarding type 2 diabetes, and preventing its development, as well as weight loss, since this is by far my biggest risk factor, I believe. I'm overweight (borderline obese), and trying to lose weight. But I have a few questions, and wanted to air them out in hopes maybe I could discuss them with someone.
Avatar m tn Recently I have been experiencing excruciating lower abdomen pain when running outdoors. This pain is of similar characteristic to period pain but is definitely unrelated as it may happen one day and not the next and happens at all times throughout my cycle. It is not a 'cramp' as it is not muscular it is a more internal pain. The pain occurs about 2km in the run. I run at a constant pace so can not be linked to exertion.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar n tn Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
Avatar n tn (I think he was embarassed to call and say I was having leg cramps). I told him this was something more than just leg cramps. The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common?
2088051 tn?1334542007 So I Was Diagnosed With Hypoglycemia When I Was 15.. I'm 18 Now. It Seems Like It's Gotten Worse As I've Gotten Older. I'll Eat.. Then Not Even An Hour Later, I'll Start Shaking. This Stuff Is Horrible. I Just Need To Know If It's Because I'm Not Eating Enough Or It's Because Of The Food I Eat. Help!
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
