Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia nausea after eating

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn I am dizzy and nausea after eating what is it, I have had my blood sugar tested several times at the clinic and all come back normal, a few years ago a doctor had me get MRI of brain done and it was fine but still no answers. I can go months with out a dizzy spell and all of a sudden have them all the time. Any comments or suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.
Avatar f tn These secrete huge amount of insulin in response to food and the person has hypoglycemia or low blood sugar just after eating. Diagnosis is by doing blood sugar levels fating, after food and through glucose challenge test. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor regarding these possibilities and treatment options discussed. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn I'm 18 and have a problem with nausea after eating. About two years ago I became a vegetarian but have only recently starting having problems. In addition, I am tired all the time, have bad headaches, and when I work out I have shortness of breath. My doctor thought I had exercise induced asthma and prescribed an inhaler, but it doesn't seem to help. And now I am having stomach pains.
Avatar m tn I have no hypoglycemia nor reactive hypoglycemia, but on a high carb diet i experience tiredness after eating. Thyroid panel is normal. What could be the cause?
Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar f tn It sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia refers to people that have low blood sugar after eating, even if they eat sufficient carbs. It seems as though Reactive Hypoglycemia exists in some people entirely separate from any diagnosis of diabetes. (but they check to make sure as hypoglycemia is a symptom often experienced by diabetics).
Avatar n tn Nausea is a symptom that many people experience when glucose levels fall too low -- I have experienced this one when hypoglycemic on occasion, and many people who write in to us with hypoglycemia mention nausea. The previous posting seems to be indicating that your symptoms may also be of diabetes, but this is not really the case.
Avatar n tn In the past I have been told I have Reactive Hypoglycemia because I get nausea if I do not eat every 3 or 4 hours and I get headaches, sweating, dizziness, etc. that goes away if I eat. I recently moved and am having trouble finding a doctor because all of the doctors I have seen so far say it is normal for people to have nausea when they wake up. My fasting insulin results are 5 uIU/mL. My glucose numbers peak in 45 minutes at 120 mg/dL and then drop although they rarely go below 65 mg/dL.
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed about a year and a half ago. Post surgery, I was severly nauseated and frequently very dizzy. My doctor started me on Cholestyramine, which made a big difference as the nausea and discomfort seemed to worsen with diarrhea. If my bowel movements are irregular (in consistency or frequency, I usually go once a day), I also experience nausea that passes after I've gone to the bathroom. My biggest concern is my almost constant mild dizziness.
Avatar n tn It reminds me of when I had a stomach ulcer, I was so very hungry all the time, or at least I thought it was hunger, eating took away the pain, and soon after, I felt 'the pain' again. I put on so much weight after, it wasn't even funny. Much later, I went to the Doctor, had an endoscopy, and they found that I had a stomach ulcer, it was treated very, very easily with some antibiotics and some other pill, which I can't remember, but loosing the weight was the really hard part.
Avatar n tn I checked it before eating and it was 77 so why would it go down after eating a salad and a few wheat crackers? 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar m tn My wife and i just found out that our son of only 22 months now has ketotic hypoglycemia, but when we go to test he blood levels after he wakes up are normal but when we test him after he eats its lower then it should be. what is the reason for this happening? we make sure the foods he eats are right but his blood level goes down. we help some help to understand what is happening. thank you for time in reading my problem.

Avatar n tn It could be that you have post-prandial hypotension, which means that your blood pressure drops very low after eating. This can cause excessive sleepiness after a meal. Do you have any other reactions, such as dizziness or light-headedness, or even anxiety? It could also be from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
Avatar f tn It does sound like you might be hypoglycemic.Did your Drs check your blood sugar? Did they test your B vitamin levels? You really need these tests. Something is going on and I don't think it's in your head. How do you feel after eating something?
Avatar m tn These can secrete huge amounts of insulin after food and a person can suffer from hypoglycemia despite eating. This is the reason you have hypoglycemia like features (increased heart rate, dizziness) after you eat. Please consult an endocrine specialist with your GTT results. Hope this helps. Avatar f tn I know I'm going to obsess now until I get this thing out. New development for someone with an IRON stomach. For past 2 days, I'm queasy after eating, sometimes before. You know, the salivating kind of queasy. I am NEVER queasy, never vomit. My glucose hasn't been so hot past 2 days either. I was reading this could just be from hypopituitarism - could it be a sign of any particular functioning tumor? The symptoms are so erratic.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your help! I appreciate your feedback! I was wondering about the reactive hypoglycemia and if that's what it could be. This lower blood sugar after eating didn't start until my blood sugars were under the normal limits all throughout the day. I realize it wasn't that low but it was lower than what I was used to. Also, I was wondering if you might know about normal insulin levels? She checked my insulin level and it was 6, she said 0-25 was normal???
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Avatar m tn and the crazy is a week later, I am still severely fatigued.... my other symptoms include nausea, distaste for eating, weak feeling, dizzy spells, light headed when i take a flight of stairs, feeling disconnected from my surroundings, and an unusual constant huge craving for sugar and sweets (normally i don't have a big sweet tooth). And it's just constant almost, I haven't worked out in days thinking that I needed rest, but I'm not getting to feeling normal again?
Avatar n tn I often have palpitations and strange slightly faint/dizzy/agitated after eating carbs. My dr mentioned Dumping Syndrome, which is where the stomach contents empty into the small intestine too quickly causing a rapid release of insulin into the bloodstream. He also said it was usually common in top athletes(not me then), has this anything to do with diabetes and what can I do about this??
Avatar f tn Here recently ( within the last week or so) I have started feeling this nauseous feeling even after I eat, and I have even been eating a little more than I usually do. Sometimes when this feeling comes about I can get a short lived relief by forcing a burp out of me. My husband and I have recently started trying for a kid, and he finished inside me for the first time not long before all these symptoms started.
