Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia nausea

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar n tn I am dizzy and nausea after eating what is it, I have had my blood sugar tested several times at the clinic and all come back normal, a few years ago a doctor had me get MRI of brain done and it was fine but still no answers. I can go months with out a dizzy spell and all of a sudden have them all the time. Any comments or suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Nausea is a symptom that many people experience when glucose levels fall too low -- I have experienced this one when hypoglycemic on occasion, and many people who write in to us with hypoglycemia mention nausea. The previous posting seems to be indicating that your symptoms may also be of diabetes, but this is not really the case.
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
1204020 tn?1493698890 Hi past 4months now , ive had this dizziness nausea, i am so sick of it... My GP at first said Laybrythitis..Then i tried BP meds, Atetenol Beta blocker, yuk..i still get the dizziness, so it's nothing to to do with BP, although my BP is high. But i have this nitty gritty feeling something is causing BP to go higher...... Can depression do that? anxiety?, Raise your bp to high levels daily???.........
Avatar n tn my daughter is a 20 year old healthy college student who is experiencing dizziness with very mild blurred vision. It is worst in the morning. she has no nausea or ringing in the ears or spinning sensation at all. her blood pressure is normal. we put her through the ringer about 3 years ago for the same problem and the best anyone could come up with was low o2. which at time was reasonable because she was using a space heater in her bedroom without any ventilation.
Avatar n tn In the past I have been told I have Reactive Hypoglycemia because I get nausea if I do not eat every 3 or 4 hours and I get headaches, sweating, dizziness, etc. that goes away if I eat. I recently moved and am having trouble finding a doctor because all of the doctors I have seen so far say it is normal for people to have nausea when they wake up. My fasting insulin results are 5 uIU/mL. My glucose numbers peak in 45 minutes at 120 mg/dL and then drop although they rarely go below 65 mg/dL.
Avatar n tn Nausea and dizziness can both be symptoms of low blood sugar, or, as the previous poster noted, high sugar levels. If your glucose levels are running too high, usually the person shows the typical symptoms of unusual thirst and fatigue. If low, dizziness, inability to concentrate, headaches, yawning for no reason, shaking hands, irritability or depression, sleepiness, or a dry mouth or eyes can be present.
Avatar f tn Chronic dizziness, fatigue, lightheadeness, nausea, extreme belching(sometimes hundreds of times a day), diagnosed last year with a rare form of hypoglycemia.. Reactive Hypoglycemia. I suffer random spells of tachycardia, & chest discomfort. Ive seen 3 cardiologists & had every test minus a heart cath(I tried to get thst, but told NO). Including: 3 stress tests, 5 holters, 3 echos, 5 ekgs & blood work 3 times since 2013. Nothing found other than mild pvcs, & tachycardia.
Avatar f tn part (which is a characteristic as well of Type II diabetes) in people diagnosed with Reactive Hypoglycemia is related to the chemical process that causes the Hypoglycemia (an excess of insulin). My quick search turned up dozens of articles so you should have no problem getting more information. I would also speak more to your doctor. I'm curious about that 166 blood sugar you mentioned as that is high (hyperglycemic) not low (hypoglycemic). Good luck on figuring it all out.
Avatar m tn I am just wanting to know what can cause Dizziness and Nausea? only has happened 3 times in the last 2 or three months!
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn Hello D646, We are volunteers here & not medical professionals, so please do follow up with a medical doctor to review the information & suggestions you get here. Many of your symptoms are consistent with diabetes and so it's important that you talk to your doctor ASAP to be evaluated for that. Untreated diabetes can lead to premature nasty complications.
Avatar f tn had a migraine and nausea: didn't eat but kept hydrated: did not sleep well night before Seizure 2: had a stomach virus (or food poisoning) and kept hydrated but ate very little for approx 24 hours. Slightly sleep deprived, but not extreme. I have read that seizures related to hypoglycemia are non epileptic. Can someone confirm this? The neurologist basically said he couldn't find any epileptic tenancies and since it was only one seizure to not worry about it.
Avatar f tn Adrenal function does affect glucose levels, as well as endocrine function, fat and protein metabolism, connective tissue turnover, immune function, detox. capacity, and even quality of sleep. Any cause of hypopituitarism could adversely affect adrenal function, from loss of ACTH, GH, TSH, ADH, and other pituitary hormones. I don't know if there is any particular type of pituitary tumor or cyst that would have a direct effect on a specific adrenal function. There wouldn't have to be.
Avatar n tn Tingling sensations, fatigue, hot flashes OR feeling unexplainably chilled, headaches, nausea, inability to concentrate are all symptoms of hypoglycemia. And some people (me included) can have a racing heart and discomfort in the chest caused by muscle spasms when hypoglycemic. Maybe a glucose tolerance test would show how your pancreas responds to stimulus. You might want to start taking some written notes when this happens... what did you eat that day?
Avatar n tn The symptoms you describe sound suspiciously like hypoglycemia, including the slight nausea when the episode is present. Moodiness can be a symptom of hypoglycemia, too, for some depression can set in just when glucose levels are low. Some doctors truly don't "BELIEVE" in hypoglycemia, and if I were in your shoes I would try another doctor until you find one who does treat for hypoglycemia.
Avatar f tn The other possibility is insulin secreting insulinomas of the pancreas. These secrete huge amount of insulin in response to food and the person has hypoglycemia or low blood sugar just after eating. Diagnosis is by doing blood sugar levels fating, after food and through glucose challenge test. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor regarding these possibilities and treatment options discussed. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Over the past several weeks i have been experiencing what I believe to be daily, if not constant, hypoglycemia. It has gotten to the point where it is pretty constant. I've stopped eating cookies and or candy, my main device, and the shakiness persists. I occasionally get light headed, nausea, and irritable from what I believe to be Hypoglycemia but d I am concerned that it is the onset of something more destructive.
Avatar f tn Have you had her blood sugar tested? Hypoglycemia can cause nausea and headaches if the blood sugar dips too low. Very easy to fix, Eat three balanced meals, reduce sugar, increase proteins, and if you feel an attack coming on eat something sweet (i.e. orange juice, an orange or chocolate bar) and then follow with some protein to balance it out. Good luck.
