956433 tn?1255977108 just wanted to kno if anyone on this forum is dealing with hypoglycemia along with there anxiety..i have had the low blood sugar since im 15( im 21 now)..and i know if i don't eat right and take care of it it can make you feel dizzy,lightheaded, tremors and what not..and now that i have anxiety iv noticed alot of the symptoms mimic each other..also i have always been really thin..

I always made sure to eat every two hours, avoided refined sugar and carbs (anything that's going to cause a big dump of insulin, because the rebound hypoglycemia and drop your numbers very low). Avoid junk food. Make sure you get protein. I ate a lot of peanut butter on wheat and milk. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I told him that I previously had gestational diabetes that once on diet alone caused my blood sugar levels to drop so low that the meter read in the 40's and sometimes just LOW. The nutritionsts then changed my diet so that it was double portion sizes and everything read perfectly. Due to this it was decided that I would take the medication only once per day instead of twice.
Avatar n tn If your blood glucose was 61 an hour or two after breakfast, especially if your breakfast was fairly high carb (such as cereal, bread, etc) you might have a specific type of hypoglycemia called reactive hypoglycemia which is people who have low blood sugar after a meal high in carbs. I would suggest seeing your doctor and getting tested to see what type of hypoglycemia you have and to make sure you aren't pre-diabetes.

I have noticed lately tho when I test because my mom and grandma are diabetic that my sugar levels are from 50 to maybe 75 no matter what I eat. I snack on granola and some times hard candy and sometimes cookies. I just feel sick all the time, and dizzy and i get really shaky and, Nothing I have been doing is working.
Avatar f tn I have been having problems with LOW BLOOD SUGAR. I am NOT a diabetic. Example: this morning i was dizzy, glucose was 115. I had a cup of yogurt, 30 mins later my level dropped to 95. After eating breakfast { 1 egg, 2 pcs whole wheat toast and 1 Tbsp peanut butter it dropped to 78. I can not seem to maintain my level and have been dizzy, nausuous and all the other symptons. It is hard to eat 6 meals a day as I work. I try to eat whole grains, and don't use sugar.

This may be partially to blame for hypoglycemia if it is "rebound", meaning her blood sugars may not sharply exceed the high levels, but if she eats a heavy meal -especially one high in simple carbohydrates- several hours later it "crashes" giving her hypoglycemia. It was explained to me that the insulin triggers becomes overreactive and dump a large amount of insulin in response to the free sugars in her system.
2088051 tn?1334542007 If you do use orange juice or crackers when you feel low you should only use a small amount.... larger amounts would cause your sugar to go high then crash. Better to eat protein and fat with just a little carb regularly. Let us know how you go.

Avatar n tn t understand how you can go from having low blood sugar to being a diabeitc. I thought diabetics had too much sugar in their blood stream. I've checked mine with a monitor and it usually falls around 70 to 95. My blood pressure usually is around 100/60 but falls to 80/60 to 60/45 when I experience these episodes. Can anyone explain what pre-diabetes is and how you can go from being a person with Hypoglycemia to pre-diabetes? Please resopnd. Thank you!

Every person's sensitivity level is different and therefore where one person may remain conscious at a level of 50, another may encounter a seizure at that same level. I did type "hypoglycemia" into google and many, many links showed up, so try doing that for additional resources.

Blood sugar is our source of energy and by having too low of a blood sugar can certainly increase the chances of no weight loss and interfering with thyroid activity as well. My experience with thyroid medicines after changing to I don't know how many is that I didn't start to lose weight until I addressed my diabetes question.

Needless to say, it has been hard for me to stick to no starches, no fruits, sugar and now he tells me to leave of all diet soft drinks, Equal and Splenda. I feel like I have no life at all. What also can be happening is a carb crash caused by eating mashed potatoes and buger bun [white bread]. Eating a meal laden with high carbs can cause your pancreas to kick into overdrive to produce insulin to counteract the onset of sugar from the foods you just consumed. That rush of insulin now creates a yo-yo effect.
Avatar f tn Same battery of tests run including going to the lab 3 days in a row for fasting sugar and insulin. 1st day fasting sugar was 82, insulin was 3. 2nd day was low carb breakfast. One hour later sugar was 67 and insulin was 38. 3rd day was high carb breakfast. One hour later sugar was 63 and insulin was 44. Doctor says they don’t know if that insulin level is too high because it could have been at its peak, and insulin release varies on food, etc.

I knew my blood sugar was low, I knew I was drenched in sweat, I was fully aware of my confusion as to what needed to be done to help me. I asked him to call 911. He wouldn't do that. Low blood sugar can be experienced by both type 2's and type 1's, though severe hypoglycmia is more often associated with insulin use. You don't say what treatment(s) you are using: low carb diet, oral meds or insulin. You also don't say what your blood sugar is when you experience these symptoms. You need to test your blood sugar on a regular basis especially when you feel "off".

The high fasting levels could result from either increased or decreased calorie intake. I would suggest taking a healthy balanced diet and taking a few readings for the fasting and post-prandial levels. If these continue to remain high, it is best advised to consult an endocrinologist. Never mind my terror over the spike in my blood sugar that my impending gtt is holding over my head- I really don't want to get misdiagnosed with gestational diabetes just to completely crash on the way home. Anyone with a similar issue have any advice? I know I can't really do much peanut butter or oatmeal and fruit only seems to be a very temporary fix.
Avatar n tn hi i am hoping that someone can help me i have pretty much been dealing with low blood sugar for as long as i can remmber but all the diets that i find for it is tring to advoid the spikes so you dont go low well i dont have the spikes so the diet isnt working for me. i am usually in the 70s & 80s mostly 80s 2 hours or less after i eat . can someone tell me what your suppost to do if you dont get the spikes but the lows. thank you.
