Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia level chart

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn s had episodes of hypoglycemia during the night - anywhere from 1 to 4 am - on average once every two weeks. Most times he wakes because he's sweaty. A couple of times - last night in particular - his respiration was quite shallow, he was absolutely soaked, and not fully aware until I shook him. After some juice and a granola bar he was better. I know I need to get him to the doctor. Any clues what might be going on? Thanks!
Avatar n tn Thanks for the information and advice. While testing my level today during an "episode", my level was 32. Wouldn't that mean I was...like dead? Maybe it's the inexpensive monitor that's confusing me. I was feeling bad, but not THAT bad. Sounds like it's time to visit the doc!
Avatar f tn this morning i was dizzy, glucose was 115. I had a cup of yogurt, 30 mins later my level dropped to 95. After eating breakfast { 1 egg, 2 pcs whole wheat toast and 1 Tbsp peanut butter it dropped to 78. I can not seem to maintain my level and have been dizzy, nausuous and all the other symptons. It is hard to eat 6 meals a day as I work. I try to eat whole grains, and don't use sugar. I just can't keep my level up. Why does it drop? how can I prevent that?
Avatar n tn About hour 3 I crashed to a blood sugar level of about 37. I have met with a nutritionist and I am trying to adhere to this diet. However, it isn't making me feel any better. My head is very cloudy and I have difficulty concentrating. My head hurts constently and I can't sleep well at night. My eyes burn and sometimes I just feel like I am zoned out. I have a demanding job and this isn't working out so well for me. In addition I feel like my weight is all over the place.
Avatar f tn In the (2) condition, the high dose of protein will cause an insulinogenic response, secreting insulin into the blood, which will then drive your blood sugar low, but then it will then take some of the protein and convert it to glucose via the gluconeogenesis reaction, which then will cause blood sugar level to go up and then your body to secrete more insulin into your blood, to bring sugar level low. The best diet would be one that is not very insulinogenic.
1034736 tn?1319559035 You will need to run a few more tests which will monitor your blood glucose level, insulin level and C-peptide level. A CT scan or MRI of abdomen may be done to rule out polycystic disease of the ovary. Sometimes suppression tests are done in a hospital setting to see the effect of insulin. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar n tn 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar m tn How could you say he had hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia without knowing what the blood sugars are. He did state that they were in normal range. Palpitations may not even be related to blood sugar.
Avatar n tn Sounds like a good idea, Eric. Only it isn't only sugar you need to control it is all carbohydrates; cut down on things like bread, rice, cereal, pasta and potatoes and eliminate sugar. Reactive glycemia, if that is what you have occurs after high carb meals.
Avatar f tn t understand the reason people get hypoglycemia. I read online is when diabetic people are taking their medications their sugar level go very low sometimes it can cause Hypoglycemia episodes. Is there any other reason why I would have hypoglycemia if I don't have diabetes? Also is there a high chance that hypoglycemia can turn to diabetes?
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
1183190 tn?1326108934 I tested negative after 4 months using a ECLIA antibody test, but just came to know that my blood sugur level was very low(its 50,should be between 80-120) ,this condition is called Hypoglycemia, and i have read somewhere that it weakens immune system,is my 4 months test conclusive? I had moved on..
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn I have tested for hypoglycemia, but symptoms occur in the mid-60s, well before the standard blood glucose level identified as hypoglycemic. I have had my thyroid tested (normal) and two blood panels: standard metabolic (CO2 level slightly high at 34, otherwise normal) and standard blood test (normal). I have seen a counselor. This is a real physical problem, but I can't find a doctor who will listen to me. I follow a healthy diet, limiting carbohydrates as much as possible.
Avatar n tn not so much a fatigue, but more like a sick, unwell, uneasy feeling throughout the day, and when my blood sugar becomes low, this feeling I have been having only increases as well as adding in the usual symptoms of hypoglycemia -- sweating, anxiety, feeling faint. Only eating a meal that isn't conductive to weight loss will I recover to an extent, but I still am not feeling well even when my sugar level recovers. I would say that maybe this happens 2-3 times per day.
Avatar f tn Trembling, fatigue and headaches after meals may be caused by postprandial hypoglycemia or reactive hypoglycemia. To verify this diagnosis, you need to check your blood sugar level ( a blood glucose level that falls below 70mg/dL). This condition usually occurs in individuals who do not have diabetes. Associated symptoms include sweating, dizziness, anxiety, confusion, weakness and difficulty with speech.
Avatar f tn I have been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, i guess about 2 months now. During the summer I continued to run cross country, and after about 2 weeks I figured out how to keep my levels up enough for practice. Now that school has started my whole routine has changed. I've changed from practicing at 7 in the mornign to 3:45 in the afternoon, and first I couldn't practice, but then I got the hang of it and my levels were conrolled.
Avatar n tn what are normal sugar level (42-famale) I have been testing at 40-50 my dr is concerned, should I be Beeing a little overwelmed I failed to inquir as to what is "normal"
Avatar m tn On a recent visit to my periodontal dentist, I received an injection to numb my gums for surgery. After the injection, my blood sugar level sent me into hypoglycemia and I had to have some apple sauce to bring up my blood sugar level before continuing. I have never had hypoglycemia before.
Avatar m tn Excess insulin may cause hypoglycemia and hypokalemia, particularly after IV administration. Hypoglycemia may occur as a result of an excess of insulin relative to food intake. As with all medication, discuss in detail with your doctor the potential risks and advantages of the prescribe medication, including side effects. Talk with the pharmacist too.
Avatar m tn i was tested for diabetes, and my results were 76 1st hr 81 then 43 3rd hr, they say i have hypoglycemia ? i didnt feel any symptoms when i left.......
Avatar n tn I have been told in the past that I have hypoglycemia. That was over 5 Years ago, but now my symptoms are more severe and happen without food issues. I begin to shake and feel extremely weak. My heart seems to pound so fast and I feel anxious and out of sorts. It can be hard to contentrate and focus. My muscles feel heavy and hard to control.
