Avatar n tn She has juvenile diabetes in the honeymoon stage at this time blood sugars can drop and rise. Have an endocrinologist take a close look at her over a period of glucose intake she sounds type 1 to me. I have had type 1 diabetes for 30 years and was misdiagnosed the first 20 years of my life. Believe it or not. I almost died before I got insulin. I was in a honeymoon state and my sugars were fluctuating radically. A lot of type 1 will have hypoglycemia before their onset.

Avatar f tn I've been suffering since 2007 with nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, insomnia, severe chills, pain in the middle of the back, and funny taste in the mouth, especially after eating chocolate does anyone know what this is? I've been to several doctors that at first think I just have an infection. I also was ruled out for thyroid issues. I just had an adrenal stress gland test done and am awaiting the results.
863754 tn?1239144755 Hi, I would like to clarify if the renal failure was present prior to the hypoglycemia episodes. Some illnesses that affect the liver, heart, or kidneys can cause hypoglycemia. In particular, sepsis and starvation are other causes of hypoglycemia. In these cases, treating the illness or other underlying cause will correct the hypoglycemia. Other differentials that I could think of are Insulinomas, which you have mentioned, and rarely hormonal deficiencies .
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar n tn Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
Avatar n tn 71 is normal but again I felt horrible, weak, shaky, anxiety, etc. Could this be something other than Hypoglycemia? Before I had lunch I ran 2.5 miles on the treatmill and felt fine so this is beginning to puzzle me.
Avatar n tn (I think he was embarassed to call and say I was having leg cramps). I told him this was something more than just leg cramps. The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common?
2088051 tn?1334542007 So I Was Diagnosed With Hypoglycemia When I Was 15.. I'm 18 Now. It Seems Like It's Gotten Worse As I've Gotten Older. I'll Eat.. Then Not Even An Hour Later, I'll Start Shaking. This Stuff Is Horrible. I Just Need To Know If It's Because I'm Not Eating Enough Or It's Because Of The Food I Eat. Help!
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
Avatar n tn I HAVE HAD HYPOGLYCEMIA FOR OVER 7 YEARS. CAN I TURN INTO A DIABETES. I HAVE BEEN GETTING SYSTMON OF DIABETES BUT MY GLUCOSA TEST COMES OUT LOW OF 62 FASTING IN THE MORNING .MY HANDS AND FEET FALL ASLEEP AT NIGHT. I HAVE TROUBLE WALKING MY LEGS HURT ESPECIAL IF I SIT FOR A WHILE.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
885280 tn?1289562555 Hypoglycemia can lead to diabetes if not watched. I was told by my doctor that we are going to have to watch me for diabetes as I am hypoglycemic. Because there is a history of diabetes in my family.
1523917 tn?1302215871 Ok. I just recently found out that I'm hypoglycemic. I have a pretty good primary Doctor. But I want a second opinion. She said that with my hypoglycemia, I have the symptoms, but don't need medicine for it, I just need to eat every 2 to 3 hours. So, is that right? Do some hypoglycemics not need medicine to control it? Also, I'm terrified that I will go into a coma or have seizures...
1662361 tn?1302762372 To help treat hypoglycemia is to minimize the length of time between meals (5-6 small meals a day). It is recommended not to eat too much carbohydrate per meal and actually eat more protein to help the blood sugar not to decrease rapidly, plus eat a variety of health foods. Suggest consuming 1800 calories per day spread between the 5-6 small meals. That will help you lose weight, control hypoglycemia, and feel better. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar n tn You don't say if you have type 1 diabetes. How low does your blood sugar drop at how long after eating. Then how high does it spike? Are you on medication or insulin?
