1949068 tn?1449628519 In addition to my post? Both of my mothers parents were diabetics. Also, my mother is one herself.
Avatar m tn Symptomatic related causes were provided in your last thread, Aug, 21. You need to undergo testing to find the culprit/cause of your issue. Isn't it time you discussed them with your doctor in person? Sorry, I can't help you further.
Avatar n tn What are her chances of becoming diabetic? Her doctor said hypoglycemia sometimes precedes diabetes in children. Is is possible to "grow out of" hypoglycemia? If so, what are the chances of this happening?
Avatar m tn Data are lacking on TDF treatment throughout pregnancy in mothers with active chronic hepatitis B (CHB). We evaluate the safety and efficacy of TDF therapy in such mothers and their infant outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled CHB mothers who received TDF (300 mg/day) throughout their pregnancy between 1/2011-5/2013 and assessed mother-infant outcomes. All infants received appropriate immunoprophylaxis.
Avatar n tn MY MOTHER TOLD ME I ALWAYS HAD THE SHAKES WHEN I WAS A BABY. IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS I HAVE HAD RE OCCURING BOUTS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA AND AFTER EVERY MEAL FEEL EXCESSIVLY TIERD. I HAVE SYMPTOMS AFTER HAVING COFFEE IN THE MORNING. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT I GET A RESTLESS LEG WHEN I LAY DOWN TO GO TO BED AND FEEL VERY TIERD BUT UNABLE TO GO TO SLEEP. ALWAYS THIRSTY AND FREQUENTLY URINATE. I AM WORRIED THAT I MAY NOW BE DIABETIC IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Avatar n tn Hi Tricia1, I'm not a physician. I'm a long time diabetic who reads a lot about this disease. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about hyperinsulism as a "chronic" condition to begin to answer your question. I know it is a devastating condition in infants & young children. In general, hyperinsulinism can also be transient when we have -- for a short interval -- too much insulin in our bloodstreams.
885280 tn?1289562555 Because there is a history of diabetes in my family.
Avatar n tn Sensations can be similar because in both situations the body is not being able to use the carbs that you have eaten. In the case of hypoglycemia this is because you have not eaten enough carbs. In the case of type 2 diabetes, this is because your body is not able to use the insuln it makes to properly convert the carbs you have eaten. The symptoms you describe for type 2 diabetes can all be attributed to hypoglycemia except for the rashes.
Avatar n tn Your blood glucose reading at the doctor's of 7.7 (138 in the U.S. scale) taken at 45 minutes after lunch is not necessarily ok. Many of us don't reach our peak post prandial until 2 hours after eating in which case you could have peaked at significantly higher which is NOT normal for a non-diabetic. Mysteria's answer is the classic experience of a Type 1 but not of a Type 2. Type 2's in fact can have little or no symptoms and be diabetic.
Avatar f tn Take the time to Google and learn about Hypoglycemia and also LADA [Latent Autoimmune Disease in Adults] which is a type of Hypoglycemia and often misdiagnosed as Hyperglycemia. Good luck.
Avatar n tn what is the ratio of protein to carbrohydrate that should should be comsumed per meal each day, also for snacks?
Avatar f tn Hey! I was almost 9 weeks when I miscarried. They say a lot of first pregnancies end in miscarriage. My sono today went awesome! Measuring 7W4D. What is your current A1C?
Avatar f tn It sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia refers to people that have low blood sugar after eating, even if they eat sufficient carbs. It seems as though Reactive Hypoglycemia exists in some people entirely separate from any diagnosis of diabetes. (but they check to make sure as hypoglycemia is a symptom often experienced by diabetics).
Avatar f tn What kind of diabetic are you - type 1 or type 2? How well are you controlling and managing your diabetes? Have you or are you apprehensive about something that has or is about to occur? As you can see there are way to many unknowns. You could be developing hypoglycemia - low blood sugar, or developing some other health issue. Suggest you call your doctor immediately.
Avatar n tn After some google-ing, I really suspect that I do have hypoglycemia as I have some of its symptoms such as rapid heart rate, trembling and others. To be exact, after consuming food my blood sugar level is around 5 to 5.5 only but when my stomach is empty early in the morning, my blood sugar level is around 7 to 8. I have not consult a doctor yet but I am under going some self control on sugar level as 7-8 is consider diabetic sugar level.
649848 tn?1534633700 ve had the GTT, my doctor says instead of pre-diabetes, I have Reactive Hypoglycemia... Because of the pre-diabetes diagnosis, I have tried to follow a diabetic diet for some time to prevent full blown diabetes; however, since having this test, I find myself starving and getting weak/shakey within a short period of eating, no matter what kind of food I eat. I also have Hashimoto's/hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn t understand the reason people get hypoglycemia. I read online is when diabetic people are taking their medications their sugar level go very low sometimes it can cause Hypoglycemia episodes. Is there any other reason why I would have hypoglycemia if I don't have diabetes? Also is there a high chance that hypoglycemia can turn to diabetes?
3923358 tn?1358552214 About 1/2 after i ate I started to feel sort of out of it and so I tested it and my blood sugar was 69, is that low. Also yesterday my fasting glucose was 131. Should I be concerned?
Avatar n tn Although some studies tend to indicate that some type 1 diabetics do not release these emergency sugars quite as well as non-diabetics, there is still a store of emergency sugars to help. Unfortunately, one of the things that alcohol does is preventing this release of emergency sugars. If you do some research on this subject you will find that many doctors suggest that diabetics either don't drink alcohol at all or limit the intake to 1 drink.
Avatar m tn My doctors recommendations have always been to eat a high calorie/high carbohydrate meal and a glass of fruit juice with-in a half hour of getting out of bed, but that works too slow; it takes at least two hours to get my blood sugar up to around 80-90mg/dL and I can't stand it. I was going to talk to my doctor about glucose tablets to see if they would work faster but I'd like to get the opinions of other people who've experienced hypoglycemia.
1770925 tn?1365618522 Do you have reactive hypoglycemia?
Avatar n tn s symptoms which began recently could be diabetes. Initially I thought of epilepsy but now not so sure. He had an inital seizure a few weeks ago after a night with no sleep. He said he felt weird, his eyes rolled back and he began to convulse. Not sure how long that lasted. Since then he has been fine till yesterday and today he has said he felt dizzy and thought he may be going to have a seizure again. Today he said he felt "drunk" and then he ate his sandwich and he was ok.
Avatar n tn Hi, You did not say in your post if you had been evaluated by a physician or if you were ever diagnosed as a diabetic. For many people a blood glucose in the 80s except following a meal or other food/drink intake is normal.
Avatar n tn head pains can be symptoms of dangerous conditions, and pain in the head is NOT a TYPICAL symptom of hypoglycemia or of neuropathy. Usually, neuropathy first affects the nerves in the limbs or possibly the digestive tract, but you are not mentioning any tingling in fingers or feet (which would be more typical of neuropathy), nor are you mentioning other classic symptoms of hypoglycemia such as sweats, shakiness, hunger, weakness, confusion, etc.
Avatar n tn And also, when it is the mom that is diabetic as opposed to the dad-to-be, statistics show that the chance of having diabetic children is only VERY slightly higher than the chance of a non-diabetic mom having diabetic children. Type 1 diabetic dads for some reason have an increased chance of having their children become type 1 diabetics, but for the type 1 diabetic mom-to-be, the news is good. Your kids will probably be very healthy and normal.
Avatar f tn t even have to fast. In terms of results 5.7 to 6.4 is considered prediabetic and 6.5 and over diabetic. In terms of a fasting blood sugar which some doctors use to diagnose, 100 to 125 is prediabetic and 126 and over is diabetic.
