Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia heart rate

hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now). I stopped the Lexapro (I still take all other meds) about 2 weeks ago with only the tingly in the lips as a side effect. My sugar readings seem normal.
Avatar n tn You might try checking your blood pressure/heart rate laying down, then sitting and standing. If you notice that your heart rate increases by 30 bpm or more from laying down to standing this could be indicative of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. POTS is a form of dysautonomia. This can cause symptoms of being lightheaded or even passing out. It can also cause many other symptoms including palpitations.
Avatar m tn It is possible to get hypoglycemia with sertaline (Zoloft). Also Klonopin can decrease the heart rate. Please discuss this with your doctor and get a dose adjustment for both the drugs. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn He also complains of palpitations and his heart rate goes to about 160-180 by holter monitor but the cardiologist said his echo was normal and the monitor although it showed a fast hr it was sinus rhythm. When he stands up his heart rate goes faster but he is not dehydrated, we keep him well hydrated and his labs don't show dehydration. (nor a fever). In my family we have many autoimmune diseases. I have Sjogren's and Raynauds.
Avatar f tn the last few days whenever I have gotten my heart rate up (today I was cleaning my house) when I stop my hands are trembling and I feel shaky. I haven't had this problem before. I have looked it up and seem to keep coming up with hypoglycemia (my grandmother had this) I suffer from severe anxiety a well so of course it freak me out. if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear.

Avatar f tn I am 37 years old and for a months i have been suffering with my heart rate going up at night or after a heavy meal especially after alcohol with dinner that always gets it started i want to say about 120 beats or more it so scary for me and i had a old doctor that claimed he never heard of the happening needless to say months of hearing this made me full of anxiety because at the time i was taking blood pressure medication i switched doctors and my new doctor prescribed me xanax low level this
Avatar n tn After some google-ing, I really suspect that I do have hypoglycemia as I have some of its symptoms such as rapid heart rate, trembling and others. To be exact, after consuming food my blood sugar level is around 5 to 5.5 only but when my stomach is empty early in the morning, my blood sugar level is around 7 to 8. I have not consult a doctor yet but I am under going some self control on sugar level as 7-8 is consider diabetic sugar level.
Avatar m tn Since you are overweight cervical spondylitis is possible. However since your symptoms are also accompanied by rapid heart rate then chances are that you have either low sugar or anemia or maybe some endocrine disorder. If you have swelling in your legs along with these symptoms then it could be Postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS). I think you should discuss this with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Get your blood pressure checked.
Avatar m tn Stated EKGs, Blood Tests, X-rays all looked ok, and Treadmill Stess Test said was ok. But I had noticed lately my heart rate would go to 50 when I was very relaxed, another doctor I saw for that monitored me for an hour and my heart rate droped to 50 a few times while resting on the exam bed reclined. I told him that my usual heart rate at rest was 72-68 and just now started to be 50 when relaxed.
Avatar f tn It sounds like a heart palpitation, heat flash, or hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn Ok, I am 33 years old and for the passed 8 months I have been waking up on/off in the middle of the night with a rapid heart rate, anxiety, shortness of breath. I have seen cardiologist who has done echo, stess test, holter, ect and claims this is anxiety. I dont feel like this is just anxiety and have been researching the internet trying to find an answer. My question is....could this be a symtpom of hypoglycemia? I have done some reading, and it sounds like it might be.
Avatar n tn Heart rate of 160 beats is getting high enough to affect breathing and cause shortness of breath. Dangerous heart rate would be 200 as the heart does not pump efficiently. Atenolol would be a beta blocker that would bring down the heart beat and make a person feel better if the heart rate is causing symptoms and stomach problem symptoms. Young people tend to have fast heart rates and have heart symptoms that are not dangerous.
Avatar n tn I exercise vigorously in the early day lifting weights and running 1/2 hour building my max heart rate to 135. I have a BMI of 24 and feel great. I have been on the beta blockers for 18 years now and am quite used to them. My Blood pressure is 115/65 . Problem: When I walk my dog in the evening after dinner, after walking about half a mile, I get breathlessness that stops me in my tracks. I lean against a tree for a minute and then continue another stretch from tree to tree.
Avatar n tn With IST, you have constantly elevated heart rate (above 100 most of the time, with mean heart rate (24 hours) above 95), and some stress will make it increase even more. The only time your heart rate dips when you have IST is during sleep. IST is not a heart disease, it's more an autonomic imbalance. All other causes of sinus tachycardia are "appropriate", even if they don't have an explaination that's easy to understand, like exercise.
Avatar n tn My routine is to target my heart rate 145-150 and up to 162 during the middle 10 minutes. Lately, I have noticed towards the end of my workout, during the cool down, the last 10 minutes, I begin to feel lightheaded...I get the strobelight effect in the middle of my vision, and my entire field of vision begins to darken somewhat. At first, I thought this is near syncope, but recently I had a severe occurrence which my instinct told me to take my blood sugar, so I do and it was 39.
Avatar n tn I am not currently on a beta-blocker as I have a very low resting heart rate and a BB would slow it down even further. Although, it work wonders for anxiety from what hear from some of my anxious friends. I have noticed that if you want certain testing done you have to just demand it from the physician. I don't wait for them to pick a test, I ask them...when they are creating a lab slip to add on other lab works I want done. After all I'm paying for it.
Avatar m tn I still get attacks, but I have the knowledge that nothing appears to be wrong with my heart. Though I do notice there are certain times where my heart rate gets high or remains high. Is it normal, or does anybody else that has sensitivity to adrenaline notice that after eating their heart rate rises pretty high? I also notice that after exercising my heart rate can stay up around 100 bpm for over an hour.
Avatar m tn I felt Like I needed to calm down, I got in my car and as I drove home I played the radio, called people on the phone, turned the AC on and off but nothing seemed to work, I was afraid. As I kept driving home my heart rate just sky rocketed to the point where I thought of stoping at a store and asking them to call 911. I finnaly made it home and eventually calmed down but ever since that day at random points of any day I get the same symptoms very lightly but I still they are there.
Avatar n tn Hypoglycemia - usually episodes of tremor with hypoglycemic attacks. Hypoglycemia, which is caused by low blood sugar, and symptoms of hypoglycemia may include anxiety, sweating, tremor, palpitations, nausea... You should contact your doctor to rule out any serious condition such as liver, kidney disease. Take care and thanks for your question.
Avatar f tn ve given. It can also be related to heart rate issues (can you remember what heart rhythm your husband was diagnosed with?) I would think, if you've been to a neurologist, that this would have been a consideration though, so that's me stumped. I wish I could be more help to you...have you checked the Ask the Expert Forums to see if you could talk back and forth with a doctor?? Try it and see what they say?
Avatar f tn Treatment is sometimes required for hypoglycemia, and much less frequently for respiratory distress or low heart rate/low blood pressure. Overall, the decision of when to use beta blockers and when to stop is best made by your obstetrician/perinatologist. The risk vs. benefits of use include an assessment of your health and the best way to treat any medical conditions you may have. Your health has a direct affect on fetal health, and therefore optimizing your health is also important.
Avatar n tn The clinical features of this tumor are related to the effects of insulin-and thus primarily demonstrate symptoms related to hypoglycemia which are relieved by food intake. Other general symptoms include episodic sweating, tremor and rapid heart rate, as well as hunger, nausea, weight gain, and sometimes even central nervous system symptoms (including rarely, seizures)." Perhaps these websites can help you find more information on how to deal with this condition.
266195 tn?1215310411 I ws taken to the hospital during a panic attack, and my heart rate was sustained around 160-180. They performed an EKG, chest x-ray and took blood while my heat rate was around 170. If I had some sort of arrhythmia that caused sudden tachycardia, wouldnt they have found it, since they did those tests during my episode? they said everything was fine except the fast heartbeat.
