Other endocrine gland related conditions like acromegaly and glucose control disorders (diabetes and hypoglycemia both) all result in increased sweating. Pheochromocytoma, cancers, carcinoid syndromes, tuberculosis and other infections too can cause increased sweating. It can also be due to low blood pressure. Get your adrenal gland function tested also. Wear loose clothes.
Avatar f tn If you do NOT have a thyroid gland it does not matter how much iodine you consume. You do not have to watch your iodine intake. Adding T3 to Synthroid does not make a difference after 6 months and on. He said there have been studies that show that patients do feel better when taking T3 with the Synthroid for up to 6 months but after that the levels are pretty much the same in people taking T3 and those that don't. It is impossible to "out run" your medication.
Avatar f tn ve been to several doctors that at first think I just have an infection. I also was ruled out for thyroid issues. I just had an adrenal stress gland test done and am awaiting the results. I have severe allergies to mostly all grains including wheat, barley, oats, rice and rye. I eat a diet that is pretty healthy with lean protein and plenty of fruits and vegetables and have stayed away from dairy as well as I know that is pretty tough on the stomach.

Avatar m tn My wife had a crainiotomy to remove and optic chiasm meningioma about a year ago. She is still fighting hypothyroidism due to the fact that the tumor was pressing on her pituitary gland. Since synthroid hasn't helped we recently went to a doctor that has prescribed armour thyroid. Any comments? Any negative reaction we should look for or expect? Thanks.

You are NOT crazy, your body is trying to tell you something! Adrenal glands produce three types of steroidal hormones. If you have too much or too little of any of these hormones you can an array of symptoms that come and go. Those glands also control your sodium and potassium levels.

Avatar n tn I think she must do a complete study of possible causes of hypoglycemia, there are some other endocrine deficiencies, certain disorders of the adrenal glands and the pituitary gland that can result in a deficiency of key hormones that regulate glucose production. I would recommend her to do much more tests (when the glycemia is low) to find out (exclude) the causes (ex. of some tests: insulin , C peptide, cortisol, ethanol, Hemoglobin A1c ....) .

Avatar m tn Dark spots on buttocks which are not itchy could be due to hyperpigmentation, friction with clothes, sweat dermatitis, vitamin deficiency, dry skin, adrenal gland disorders, thyroid problems, seborrhaic warts, moles etc. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage without examining them. I take meds for my thyroid, watch what I eat and exercise 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hrs a day 5 times a week. I've tried following a low blood sugar diet and was able to lose about 4-5 lbs the first week, but for the next 5 weeks I lost nothing. This last week I went off the diet slightly and gained 2-3 lbs. back. Am I eating the wrong things?
Avatar f tn Apart from these,the other causes of lightheadedness are hypoglycemia,orthostatic hypotension,TIA,impending stroke,inner ear diseases,meniere’s disease, endocrine disorders like thyroid, adrenal glands, and pituitary gland disorders and carotid sinus syndrome.Pls discuss these possibilities with a neurologist and get yourself thoroughly examined.
