Hypoglycemia fatigue

Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia fatigue

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn The symptoms are vary varied and might include dizziness, feeling generally out of it, fatigue, irritability, disorientation, tingling. Testing is the key as if your numbers have been high for awhile you will feel low even if you're not. You should treat any lows below 60 (some treat below 70) with a couple glucose tablets. You will learn the correct number for you.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
Avatar f tn I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro. I now have all the symptoms of hypoglycemia: tingling in lips (its constant, no break) and dizziness at just the slightest turn of the head, heart rate that is averaging 100 beats per minute (this has been constant not in little bursts for about three days now), and tightness in the chest/lung area, slight muscular type pain during deep breathing (also for about 5 days now).
Avatar f tn I have done a little searching and found that some fatigue up to maybe 15-20 minutes after a BM is normal and caused by bacteria needing to replenish itself..I don't know how accurate that is, but I have the fatigue even before, and it's not a little fatigue, it has me laid up in bed all day sometimes until I can go, and completely drained after for at least half an hour.
Avatar f tn Trembling, fatigue and headaches after meals may be caused by postprandial hypoglycemia or reactive hypoglycemia. To verify this diagnosis, you need to check your blood sugar level ( a blood glucose level that falls below 70mg/dL). This condition usually occurs in individuals who do not have diabetes. Associated symptoms include sweating, dizziness, anxiety, confusion, weakness and difficulty with speech.
Avatar m tn he dosent seem to think zoloft could cause it, wellllllll i did a ATch stimulation test this morning and also he told me when i had symptoms to go to a lab, and they will take blood test like for insulin total, pro insulin, glucose, c-pep and something called beta hydrohyoxide might not be right spelling, welll i did the test on that too, but i only had pounding headache and little fatigue , i wasnt severe like i used to be or can be, is testing like that, is that a 100 percent test that its r
Avatar n tn My 12 year old son recently lost 5 pounds and was tired and complained of headaches and fatigue. His pediatrician tested his urine which was fine and he said diabetes would show in the urine test. Over the last two months, he has gained back three pounds and has less headaches and fatigue but now has intense sugar cravings. It was so bad that his teacher called me from school because she found out he was pouring sugar into his water bottles and bringing them to school to drink during the day.

Avatar f tn Chronic dizziness, fatigue, lightheadeness, nausea, extreme belching(sometimes hundreds of times a day), diagnosed last year with a rare form of hypoglycemia.. Reactive Hypoglycemia. I suffer random spells of tachycardia, & chest discomfort. Ive seen 3 cardiologists & had every test minus a heart cath(I tried to get thst, but told NO). Including: 3 stress tests, 5 holters, 3 echos, 5 ekgs & blood work 3 times since 2013. Nothing found other than mild pvcs, & tachycardia.
Avatar m tn Could this be why I am extremely fatigue and dealing with hypoglycemia? If anyone has any comments, I would greatly appreciate it. They said my heart is fine and thyroid is fine. I have orderes a saliva test against my doctors wish. They seem to think that trying to find answers online is classic signs of hypochondria. Please help. They have prescribed anti-anxiety meds.
Avatar n tn m being told there is NO WAY POSSIBLE that hypoglycemia can cause a seizure. I need real advice from someone. They want to lable him as epiletic. Can someone give me advice!
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test. I have known people with classic symptoms who surely suffer from this problem who have had negative results from glucose tolerance tests. This is because there are so many factors that can contribute to hypoglycemia -- stress, hormones, activity, what foods you eat, and a myriad more.
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn I have a problem which has been going on for several years and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it. I'm 38 years old and have the following symptoms - an occasional feeling of fatigue in the center of my chest, in my arms and in my legs. It's not a weakness because I still have all my strength. It feels more like a fatigue or cold rubbery sensation. I also notice a slight trembling and twitching in my fingers and thumb.
Avatar n tn hard to explain, but I seem to have .. not so much a fatigue, but more like a sick, unwell, uneasy feeling throughout the day, and when my blood sugar becomes low, this feeling I have been having only increases as well as adding in the usual symptoms of hypoglycemia -- sweating, anxiety, feeling faint. Only eating a meal that isn't conductive to weight loss will I recover to an extent, but I still am not feeling well even when my sugar level recovers.
Avatar m tn I have been having problems with hypoglycemia and I was also have fatigue for the past couple months - my arms and legs felt tired and I feel like I was craving sleep. My doctor found my TSH was 9.8 (5.4 high limit normal). All other blood panel items were normal including fasting insulin. He started me on 50mg levothyroxine. 2 days after I started taking levothyroxine, I felt like I had ALOT of energy, more than I've had in years. I've felt this way for 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn The other neuroglycopenic manifestations of hypoglycemia may be abnormal mental state, anxiety, fatigue, confusion, paresthesiae etc. Other non organic causes of seizure may be a febrile convulsion due to very high body temperature. He needs to be evaluated thoroughly for a complete blood sugar profile, fasting, post prandial and an hbA1C to check his glycemic control over the last 3 months. The neurologist should reexamine him for systemic manifestations of diabetes to check. Take care.
Avatar f tn They test again a few hours after he drinks this to see how his body reacted. This will show hypoglycemia IF his hypoglycemia is caused when the body is over-stimulated to produce insulin. Some hypoglycemic people test as normal with this test, though. Another test you can ask to have done is to test for antibodies that show if the body's immune system is attacking the pancreas to eventually cause diabetes.
Avatar m tn PS -- no hypoglycemia, I have a sugar monitor and I checked on that.
Avatar n tn Just from the very brief description you wrote, this sounds more like hypoglycemia to me... that's when glucose levels go too low rather than too high as in diabetes. You might want to try sipping about a half cup of orange juice when you feel this way, and see if you feel better within about 15 minutes to a half hour. If so, then this would indicate that your blood sugar is running too low.
Avatar n tn I been experiencing dizziness to the point when I get up I black out for a few seconds, headaches off and on through out the day and when I wake up, excessive fatigue, and I noticed my vision has been blurry. I been having these symptoms for almost 3 weeks now. I haven't been to the doctor's due to not having insurance at this time. I'm not pregnant and I am on Depo-Provera shot since last November 2009. Can you tell me what could be giving me these symptoms? Please and Thank you!
Avatar f tn None of them have any idea what is wrong with me or how to help. I also have pain in my left side that worsens when the fatigue becomes worse, such as after an activity. The doctors have suggested I exercise. However, after gentle exercise or exertion of any kind I am tired the next day. I was in Trinidad about 3 1/2 weeks before I became ill. None of the doctors seem to think that has anything to do with the illness. I was also exposed to mono by baby-sitting two children who had mono.
Avatar f tn Due to your sugar not actually being hypoglycemic (this is below 70) it's not likely reactive hypoglycemia. Reactive hypoglycemia is your sugar dropping within 4 hours after too many carbs eaten in non-diabetics. Based on your having dumping syndrome, it's likely that it's what is causing your symptoms. It's called late dumping. It might be something you could check into. A late dumping phase may happen about 1 to 3 hours after eating.
Avatar n tn A few days ago I started to feel tired, i thought it was from lack of sleep but the fatigue persisted. Yesterday in class I got very ligthheaded to the point where I thought I was going to pass out. I walked outside, got some air, and recovered. Through the past 2 days, my legs have felt tingly and weak, like they aren't getting enough blood or oxygen or something. I have been a little stressed lately but I fear it's more than that.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know if what I am experiencing could be related to hypoglycemia and/or diabetes? Some days it seems no matter how much sleep I get I am always feeling like I have not slept in days. Please if you can provide me with any info it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you all and God Bless. NYFirefighter needs help.
