Avatar m tn All you can do now is treat the neuropathy and control your blood sugar with a combination of weight loss, exercise, lowering carb intake and oral meds or insulin as prescribed by your doctor.
1662361 tn?1302762372 I am 23, I know I am over weight, I diet and exercise but never loss weight. I have been test for diabetes since I was 12, and my levels have always been low. I have noticed lately tho when I test because my mom and grandma are diabetic that my sugar levels are from 50 to maybe 75 no matter what I eat. I snack on granola and some times hard candy and sometimes cookies. I just feel sick all the time, and dizzy and i get really shaky and, Nothing I have been doing is working.
Avatar n tn I am a 32 yr old Caucasian male. I am also about 110 pounds over weight, so I very seriously need to lose weight, obviously. But it is not that I don't have the willpower, it is that I am dealing with symptoms that make it very hard to eat properly. I will explain... In the past, I have had reactive hypoglycemic attacks, but just occasionally. Mainly during exercise. But, lately, I am having hypoglycemic attacks constantly every day...
Avatar f tn Fast forward back to new Endo (female) she was shocked to see what I looked like before wt.loss and during maintaining my weight loss and right now in person with 35 pound weight gain. Back to my current issue I'm currently on 100mcg synthyroid and 15mcg Cytomel for almost 6 weeks (New) and been having issues with hypoglycemia issues after eating dinner (roughly hour or 2)after eating JUST after dinner not during the day.
Avatar n tn I am a perfectly healthy 25 year old, with perfect blood tests. I have lost my appetite. Recently after 6 months of this weight loss (I have had 5 blood tests which have all come out perfect), I ate pizza the other night and fainted. Went to ER, they did every single test: EKG, blood, CAT scan of lungs --he thought I may have had a blood clot from my birth control, which I am not on anymore, and cardiac enzyme tests). Everything has come out perfect and clean. This was on Saturday.
Avatar m tn Symptomatic related causes were provided in your last thread, Aug, 21. You need to undergo testing to find the culprit/cause of your issue. Isn't it time you discussed them with your doctor in person? Sorry, I can't help you further.
Avatar n tn Are weight loss and drops in blood glucose levels side effects of tamoxifen? I had a lumpectomy for DCIS one year ago and have been on tamoxifen for 10 1/2 months. I started taking the tamoxifen in the evenings; however, I found that I wasn't sleeping well, so I began taking it in the mornings. I find that if I do not take it with my breakfast or immediately after, my blood gluclose levels drop sharply.
Avatar m tn I'm a 31 year old Hispanic male. Current weight 232lbs, (height = 6'1) with most of it concentrated around my waist. Still, this is also the lowest I've been since I was 13. About a year ago I had a GTT done which revealed me to be a flat-line hypoglycemic. (Fasting = 79, 1/2hr = 81, 1hr = 71, 2hr =79) I have a very strong family history of diabetes and am working to prevent it in myself At least, that's what I hope.
Avatar m tn Would any of these diseases contribute to sudden weight loss? I have been close/over 350 lbs for years, but in the last several months I have dropped a significant amount of weight. I'm down to 287. (20 lbs in the last four weeks alone.) I wish I could say it's because I'm exercising or eating right... but I'm not. I've made no change to physical activity or diet. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn Hi, I saw a post of a case similar to mine where the liver was affected as well as the pancreas with wieght gain instead of loss on a low fat diet. Im wondering what causes that especially in pancreatitis? I loss alot of weight a year ago, was real sick with abnormal bruising and weakness, falling down, ect, this was before pancreas started acting up again, prior to that I had only one acute episode of pancreatitis.
Avatar n tn I am a 19 y/o female, 5'7 and I weigh about 120 lbs. For the past year I have had increasing side effects, getting worse. I have had numerous tests ran, MRI, Holter Monitor,Echo, etc. I have migranes, numerous times a day along with blacking out. BEfore I black out, I get really hot, and then my heart starts racing, and thenI become really weak. Aside from my 'spells' I have chest pain and nausea.
1257808 tn?1322762215 Last year, I suffered from hypoglycemia, and almost my proteins, minerals, and vitamins became lows as a complication of weight loss surgery knows as Bile Pancreatic Diversion (Scopinaro). Due to the hypoglycemia, I have jerky movement and severe pain in my both leg. This sharp pain is until now. I have revision surgery, but later, I have these sleep problems. I discover that I have restless legs during my sleep recently. After my revision surgery, I diagnosed with hypothyroidism too.
Avatar n tn Asmik, We are volunteers and not medical professionals. You've taken the right step by keeping careful records of how she feels and what she's eating. Common symptoms for Type 1 diabetes include frequent urination, insatiable thirst &/or hunger, unexplained weight loss, sometimes lethargy and vision changes. Depending on your daughter's age and general activity levels, the doctor might well evaluate stress (stress can be around food/eating).
Avatar n tn Well....it is always best to contact your physician before any exercise plan.Having said that I have to ask you have you been exercasing even before the diet plan you are following?
5150207 tn?1374211560 I've not been dieting, but all of a sudden I lost my appetite. I didn't even realize it, until one morning getting my daughters ready for the bus & almost passing out, it hit me that I hadn't eaten anything in almost a week, with the exception of drinking fluids. I've always been comfortable with my weight. I am tall and don't show my weight. I'm 5'11", and 169lbs never showed much. I stood on my scales after getting the girls on the bus and it showed 145lbs.
Avatar n tn Blood sugar is our source of energy and by having too low of a blood sugar can certainly increase the chances of no weight loss and interfering with thyroid activity as well. My experience with thyroid medicines after changing to I don't know how many is that I didn't start to lose weight until I addressed my diabetes question. I am Type II which means for me I am hyperglycemic or producing too much sugar.
