hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn Other types of headaches like migraine, tension headache, headache due to hypoglycemia, due to lack of sleep may also appear after pregnancy. Taking food on time will help. Also, with time, adjustment to your situation will help you to recover. Please consult your doctor if headaches persist.
Avatar f tn At times back and neck problems may persist for years before they really start giving trouble. Chances of TMJ too should be looked into. Other causes are anemia, hypoglycemia or low sugar and some endocrine problems, such as an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), and in some cases, diabetes, may lead to hypotension and hence lightheadedness and an off balance feeling.
Avatar n tn For most of my life I have head a pretty consistent but small headache. In the past 3 years it has become increasingly intense to the point where I cannot function normally most of the time. I constantly have a bad headache and sometimes it becomes bad enough to where I cannot do anything. The worst part is sometimes the headache gets very bad and I get sudden sharp pains in one side of my temples. This can happen several times over an hour or two.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test. I have known people with classic symptoms who surely suffer from this problem who have had negative results from glucose tolerance tests. This is because there are so many factors that can contribute to hypoglycemia -- stress, hormones, activity, what foods you eat, and a myriad more.
Avatar n tn I am having deep headache every time I eat rice, any kind of rice. Once i stop I can spend month not having the head pain. I am starting having it in my early 40's and still goes on. I am almost 50 now. If I take a teaspoon of rice I just have to wait early in the morning around 6:00 the headache will start. Rice is food is the mean meal in my household. Avatar n tn Hello, my daughter has been having headaches for years, and the doctors would always tell me that it is from stress, but lately I've noticed that she starts having a headache right after she eats or if she is hungry. I thought it was from carbohydrates, and started a diary to keep a track of the meals she's had the days when she had headaches. But it seems that her headache can come from nowhere, and in addition to that she feels like vomiting sometimes, but she never really does vomit.
Avatar n tn Hello, Allergic rhinitis can be one of the causes of night sweats but many other causes are also there. Anxiety and stress are also important causes of night sweats. Infections like sinusitis, pharyngitis, or other upper respiratory infections are an important cause of night sweats. Other than that perimenopausal women often experience night sweats. How old are you? Perimenopause is defined as the transitional period from normal menstrual periods to no periods at all.
Avatar f tn Hi there. You need to rule out various causes like hypertension, hypoglycemia, stress, trauma, migraines, cluster and tension headaches, referred pain from ear infection, eye causes. Errors of refraction also need to be checked. Consult a physician for a detailed clinical examination and checking you for various possibilities one by one. Hope this helps. Take care.
1757391 tn?1346127363 Benign intracranial hypertension also causes dizziness with headache and a spinal tap is confirmatory. It can be a migraine attack too. Other conditions to be strongly ruled out in your case could be Meniere’s disease of the ear, wax in the ear, infection of the middle or inner ear, and benign positional vertigo. Hence it is important to consult an ENT specialist and a neurologist too.
Avatar n tn I understand several tests have been done. However I am again enumerating all the causes which should be looked into. You need to get your daughter examined to rule out a few things such as low blood pressure, postural hypotension, cervical spinal nerve compression, hypoglycemia, severe anemia, an underactive thyroid (called hypothyroidism), overactive thyroid (called hyperthyroidism), adrenal insufficiency (called Addison's disease), GERD, and internal ear infections.
Avatar n tn The blood pressure falls when you stand and causes all the symptoms that you are suffering. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause this. TIAs or transient ischemic attacks can also be the cause. Certain internal ear problems can also affect blood pressure monitoring by the body by not properly signaling a change in position.
Avatar n tn If you have been out in sun a lot or drink less of fluids then it can also be due to electrolyte imbalance or dehydration. Benign intracranial hypertension also causes dizziness with headache and a spinal tap is confirmatory. It can be a migraine attack too. Other conditions to be strongly ruled out in your case could be Meniere’s disease of the ear, wax in the ear, infection of the middle or inner ear, and benign positional vertigo.

757137 tn?1347196453 I have long believed that most alcoholism was not a psychological problem, but a physical one related to hypoglycemia. Some years ago I had occasion to test my theory on a friend of mine who had become an alcoholic. She had all the signs of a hypoglycemic, the most notable being sugar cravings. (She was, by the way, very slender.) She told me she went on her biggest binges when she got out of rehab. I found out that in rehab they replace alcohol with lots of sugary foods.

Avatar m tn Went to the ER but they didnt really offer much help, did some blood test and monitored my heart but said it looked fine. Since then I have had a constant mild headache, but its not a normal headache, its just in certain areas of my brain. It is hard to describe, sort of like a dull pressure with spikes of stabbing pain every now and then.
