hypoglycemia

Avatar f tn It’s taken me two years, but I think I figured out that I have reactive hypoglycemia. I’m F, 38 always been super healthy and focused on health. Right before or during my period, if I don’t eat enough or on time I get hypoglycemic. If I eat dinner too late, reactive hypoglycemia happens. It’s a horrible feeling!
Avatar f tn This will keep your blood sugar steady throughout the day, without cycling up and down. Best meal plan for this is LCHF, which basically resembles VEGETABLE + PROTEIN (meat/fish/egg) + FAT. Make sure fat is from natural sources, like olive oil, avocado, butter, coconut, etc, and not the fake stuff like margarine.
1835973 tn?1318617713 I very recently found out I am hypoglycemic & I have had Rheumatoid arthritis since 1991. I've tried various pills, drugs & intravenous Rheumatoid arthritis drugs through the years all after a while have hardly any effect or relief.
Avatar f tn Though a rare disorder, pancreatic insulinomas should also be thought of in your case and have someone check your blood sugar while you eat. The hypoglycemia in this is transient following food and there is a quick increase in blood glucose once you eat. There is a surge of insulin production after meals, hypoglycemia (makes you feel as though you are hungry) and an urge to sleep. Do discuss this with your doctor (preferably an endocrine specialist) and get yourself examined. Take care!

Avatar n tn i no longer drink unless my wife and i go to a restaurant and then i only have 1 or 2 beers and do this only once or twice a month. i find i can keep better care of my diabetes without alcohol.
Avatar n tn whether blood sugar is a culprit in your symptoms, you might consider following a diet plan recommended for folk with hypoglycemia -- see if that levels our your blood sugars and if other unpleasant symptoms begin to subside. While I not a physician, nor an expert on hypoglycemia, I have read a little about it. The meal plans usually include multiple small "snack" and not large meals; avoiding simple sugars/simple carbohydrates and mixing protein with carbo when eating.
Avatar f tn You have posted on the type 2 forum, hyperglycemia, not type 1 aka juvenile diabetes. Prepare yourself to ask your doctor questions by using Google and search on 'hyperglycemia testing' and/or 'type 1 diabetes testing'. Also, call the doctor's office and ask if you should fast 8-10 hours prior. To add to allymarbles, an endocrinologist is a doctor who specializes in diabetes care and treatment. Most PCP's know only basic care - here take this pill, call me later.
Avatar m tn he dosent seem to think zoloft could cause it, wellllllll i did a ATch stimulation test this morning and also he told me when i had symptoms to go to a lab, and they will take blood test like for insulin total, pro insulin, glucose, c-pep and something called beta hydrohyoxide might not be right spelling, welll i did the test on that too, but i only had pounding headache and little fatigue , i wasnt severe like i used to be or can be, is testing like that, is that a 100 percent test that its r
Avatar n tn I am not diabetic, but I have a question about reactive hypoglycemia. I have had a problem with binge drinking for about 6 years, and my long binges would send me into terrible episodes of hypoglycemia. But I have since slowed my drinking down substantially, yet any amount of alcohol now seems to give me blood sugar issues, in different extremes. Could my binge drinking have made my liver more sensitive, to the point where I'll most likely have to abstain completely from alcohol?
Avatar f tn b-vitamin deficiency, hypoglycemia, diabetes, potassium deficiency, candida overgrowth. I was hoping that someone would be able to provide an idea on what they think this may be. I have been to a neurologist, and gotten an EEG and MRI which were normal. I am taking a blood test soon. I cannot think the way I used to, and find it hard to compete in college. This has impacted my life significantly, and I hope that someone will answer accordingly.
Avatar n tn I have been told in the past that I have hypoglycemia. That was over 5 Years ago, but now my symptoms are more severe and happen without food issues. I begin to shake and feel extremely weak. My heart seems to pound so fast and I feel anxious and out of sorts. It can be hard to contentrate and focus. My muscles feel heavy and hard to control. Any idea what this could be?
Avatar f tn the McCain plan would do for health care what deregulation has done for banking. And I’m terrified.
Avatar m tn I apologize if I have. Apparently you are not a diabetic and this is hypoglycemia. Ppl with hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar but not diabetes) can "faint" when their glucose becomes too low. One of my parents and a good friend have hypoglycemia. They just needs to eat frequently. Both can feel when their glucose level drops. They become lightheaded, sometimes nauseated and dizzy. Neither have had any major problems associated with the hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn Yep. Go to a DFS office and see I'd you're eligible to apply for medicaid.
Avatar f tn It goes by your income and you can pick a plan based on your needs so you can pick a plan that will cover prenatal visits with a low deductible you might just have to pay a little higher premium.

Avatar f tn Hi - you poor thing it sure sounds like the doctor should be paying more attention to your symptoms. I am new to this site tonight (I will have to peel myself away from this computer soon - but isn't it amazing to have this connection to so much help/advise/understanding. I don't have a proper diagnosis yet and will post on the thred I started when I do. I put my labs on there if you want to compare.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having hypoglycemia (which is low blood sugar abt an hr or 2 after meals)? I'm 26wks and been having it for around a week now.How do u usually deal with it when it strikes?
Avatar n tn Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
