hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn When you start to grow a little, you start to reflect on things that are fleeting and pass you by, showing you the impermanent and quickness of living and consciousness as we know it.
Avatar f tn Does anyone get just awful stress/anxiety and hypoglycemia symptoms from your thryoid problem? Or could it be adrenal? I wake up so light headed (I do take 15 mg Dalmane - sometimes 30 mg). But right now if I don't get up in the middle of night and eat something, feels like my blood sugar is off even with numbers in the 70s. I am having a hard time figuring out whether to wait until I see my endo again, or go to my internist.
Avatar n tn Recently I started passing out and my doctor ordered a 5 hour fasting. About hour 3 I crashed to a blood sugar level of about 37. I have met with a nutritionist and I am trying to adhere to this diet. However, it isn't making me feel any better. My head is very cloudy and I have difficulty concentrating. My head hurts constently and I can't sleep well at night. My eyes burn and sometimes I just feel like I am zoned out.
Avatar n tn and hands and aching in the limbs...and its getting worse i cant go to sleep without taking 2 pills of advil...to the point where i started poking myself so i would tell my self no...am not feeling numb....so plz let me know if you get an answer...
Avatar n tn Within minutes of eating that, I was able to get up and to the bed, with his help. We were TRYING to go to sleep when SUDDENLY, for NO REASON AT ALL, my inner thighs got terrible crams, then ALL THE TOES on my left foot, and then the anterior side of my left lower leg. It was HORRIFIC! I was screaming in pain. I was getting nauseated. I was BEGGING him to call 911. I got the phone and put the numbers in but could not stop screaming to call. Again, he refused to call for me.
Avatar n tn I cannot go for more than about 90 minutes without feelings of ravenous hunger and symptoms of hypoglycemia. I have tested for hypoglycemia, but symptoms occur in the mid-60s, well before the standard blood glucose level identified as hypoglycemic. I have had my thyroid tested (normal) and two blood panels: standard metabolic (CO2 level slightly high at 34, otherwise normal) and standard blood test (normal). I have seen a counselor.
Avatar m tn There are many books out there about low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), my favorite of which is Low Blood Sugar and You, by Carleton Fredericks. Hypoglycemia affects the workings of all our glands, our minds, our sleep rhythms, growth cycles, our very brains and thinking. SassieLassie, I had similar test reactions. So humiliating and embarrassing; very much like panic attacks. As far as your last sentence, though, I've had a couple of really nasty supervisors...
Avatar n tn Only when I have few drinks I can sleep restful deep sleep without waking up. During the day i feel foggy and exhausted, especially by the end of the day. My intellectual performance is poor and i feel overall unexplained discomfort. My mood is depressed. Any idea what to do?
Avatar n tn The Doctor explained that this was common with women my age (25) and it was nothing to worry about but now I keep have re-occuring episodes were I will wake up in the middle of the night and I will be soaked with sweat and shaking and needing to have something sugary straight away. It leaves me feeling confused, concerned and feeling really groggy for the rest of the day.
Avatar n tn t consume a lot of liquids. He has redness and sometimes soreness of his penis tip. I think he often gets hypoglycemia, though eating sweets when he gets so nauseous doesn't really help much. he isn't on any medication, but he spends a lot of time indoors, at the computer, doesn't really get exercise or a healthy diet or has regular sleep hours... I would appreciate any help in finding out what these symptoms indicate. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm new to the site and have found it extremely helpful. I have had Type I diabetes for 10 years now, and have never come across something so useful before. Keep up the great work^^ Onto my question. A couple of weeks ago, I was taken to the hospital by ambulance secondary to a "low blood sugar seizure." I have no recollection of a four hour period before I went to sleep, and then 3 hours after I was found seizing and taken to the emergency room.
1773104 tn?1314155711 Certainly hypoglycemia can trigger anxiety and panic, but rarely would it be the sole cause behind it. It is common for someone new to anxiety to do serious soul searching to try and find a logical "reason" behind the new emergence of anxiety and panic. We turn into detectives and try to find a sensible reason why it showed up (most times seemingly "out of the blue").
Avatar f tn had a stomach virus (or food poisoning) and kept hydrated but ate very little for approx 24 hours. Slightly sleep deprived, but not extreme. I have read that seizures related to hypoglycemia are non epileptic. Can someone confirm this? The neurologist basically said he couldn't find any epileptic tenancies and since it was only one seizure to not worry about it.
Avatar n tn 30 I was bouncing in the bed and he gave me o.j and sugar. He said I bit the cup. Once EMS was there they gave me a tube of glucose and checked my sugar which was 53. Could this have been caused by me taking wellbutrin and ambien?
Avatar n tn well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Avatar n tn you may want to call your local pharmacist and ask if your symptoms (and possibly hypoglycemia) can be an odd side effect of any or all of these antibiotics, and if so, if there are any that do not have this affect. You might also ask if hypoglycemic symptoms could be the result of an allergy to these drugs.
Avatar n tn Some years ago, I fainted in a Turkey Race and I was sent to the ambulance they told me that I have low blood sugar. Some times when I stand up my eye vision turns white for some sec. and becomes normal. This year I goot a blood test and they said everything was normal except that i had a skin allergy. I am 15 years old and I am 5'8" at 105-108lbs. Before I go to sleep I am around 108 then after I wake up I am 105. Is it diabetes or something else?
Avatar m tn The causes for jerks can be peripheral neuropathies, vitamin and minerals deficiencies, excess caffeine intake, hypoglycemia, and hypothyroidism. He need to undergo blood sugar and thyroid status to rule out the cause. He may have to take vitamin B-complex supplementation. First important step for management is treat identifiable cause. Pharmacotherapy usually involves drug modulating GABAergic neurotransmission like Levetiracetam, Piracetam, Clonazepam or Valproic acid against prescription.
Avatar n tn Have you had a glucose tolerance test to see if your body produces too much insulin as a reaction when you eat? This is a different test from having a simple blood sugar test -- you must drink a sugary solution and blood is drawn several times to see how your body is reacting. Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test.
1211508 tn?1343079605 So I have these weak feeling/light headed sensations lately where I'm also mentally not as acute as normal. On one hand I thought maybe my blood sugar has dropped (hypoglycemia). So then I thought ok, well I'll cut back on the carbs and eat a higher protein diet. But I exercise regularly. It's not as intense as it used to be but I still bike at medium heart rates (aerobic zone) for 30-40 minutes in the gym--which isn't that hard, really.
Avatar m tn ) Because, immediately after i take my ribose, my cognition and brain fog immediately vanishes, and I can concentrate and study with an immense improvement. What blood test should I request to evaluate my sugars etc, to rule out any pancreatic causes of this? thanks for your help!
