Common Questions and Answers about Hypoglycemia and nausea

hypoglycemia

Avatar n tn I am dizzy and nausea after eating what is it, I have had my blood sugar tested several times at the clinic and all come back normal, a few years ago a doctor had me get MRI of brain done and it was fine but still no answers. I can go months with out a dizzy spell and all of a sudden have them all the time. Any comments or suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn Nausea and dizziness can both be symptoms of low blood sugar, or, as the previous poster noted, high sugar levels. If your glucose levels are running too high, usually the person shows the typical symptoms of unusual thirst and fatigue. If low, dizziness, inability to concentrate, headaches, yawning for no reason, shaking hands, irritability or depression, sleepiness, or a dry mouth or eyes can be present.
Avatar m tn I am just wanting to know what can cause Dizziness and Nausea? only has happened 3 times in the last 2 or three months!
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing dizziness, shaking hands, and a little bit of nausea. I have been doing this for 5-6 days. When I ask people I know what they think they tell me that it MIGHT be low iron or symptoms of diabetes. What is you with me? I am a 27 year old mother of a 2 yr old.
Avatar n tn The hypoglycemia episode followed by SEVERE leg cramps and then nausea concerns me. I have hypoglycemia episodes once or twice a week but do try and control the with diet and excercise. Sometimes I really do not know why they come, yesterday was one of those instances. I have NEVER had any sort of cramps or nausea following an episode. Is this normal? Common? Something more serious with my blood glucose? Something that will effect my heart if it continues? Please help me find answers.
Avatar n tn I have a home BP monitor and during these times I notice my BP drops down to sometimes 100/60 when my BP is almost allways normally around 135/80. I have also gained about 35 pounds in the last several months with no explanation except for my incresed hunger. I am a 29 yrold male can you please tell me if I'm at the verge of diabetes or is this something else?
Avatar n tn Hello D646, We are volunteers here & not medical professionals, so please do follow up with a medical doctor to review the information & suggestions you get here. Many of your symptoms are consistent with diabetes and so it's important that you talk to your doctor ASAP to be evaluated for that. Untreated diabetes can lead to premature nasty complications.
Avatar n tn You should get a second opinion as you may have been misdiagnosed. Ask to see an Endocrinologist - a diabetes specialist - for a second opinion. To my knowledge, shaking leans more towards hypoglycemia [type 1] than hyperglycemia [type 2] [see the following].
Avatar f tn Lately Ive been feeling super dizzy and nauseated. I was feeling really good and had a ton of energy before. Every time I go out and about I feel like i am going to faint.
Avatar n tn If your friend is unable to eat because of nausea or other symptoms, this could potentially be due to the hydrocephalus, in which case the shunt may not be functioning properly and may require revision. However, in someone who has a shunt and on examination and history there is no evidence of shunt problems, and if the hydrocephalus is under control, then a feeling of sickness with eating is not expected, and a search for other causes (gasteroenterologic, GI, causes) is necessary.
Avatar f tn I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
1204020 tn?1493698890 He sometimes gets really high blood pressure, to the point where his face turns red and he gets a bad headache, and sometimes he gets extreme hypoglycemia with this, too, and needs to get some sugar. So, maybe it is something with your pituitary. Cushing's (high cortisol) disease can also cause high blood pressure. Mononucleosis (EBV) could cause dizziness and nausea, along with fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, sometimes cold symptoms like a sore throat. Goodluck!
Avatar m tn my sister is 17. She complained of hearing her own heartbeat and feeling nausea during the occurrence. The problem occurred about 2-3weeks ago and has become more frequent. She thinks it's not because of anxiety. It happened during class hours, upon waking up from sleep and while just sitting around doing nothing. She had this headache too accompanying the palpitation. She's not on any meds except for symbicort turbuhaler which she uses twice daily day and night.
Avatar n tn Since it is early morning dizziness, hypoglycemia, GERD, nerve compression and benign intracranial hypertension and postural hypotension should be ruled out. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn In the past I have been told I have Reactive Hypoglycemia because I get nausea if I do not eat every 3 or 4 hours and I get headaches, sweating, dizziness, etc. that goes away if I eat. I recently moved and am having trouble finding a doctor because all of the doctors I have seen so far say it is normal for people to have nausea when they wake up. My fasting insulin results are 5 uIU/mL. My glucose numbers peak in 45 minutes at 120 mg/dL and then drop although they rarely go below 65 mg/dL.
2130123 tn?1338125448 Hi :) I fingered my GF 9 days before her normal period but 12 days after fingering her period (the amount of blood is as usual ) came. I found on internet that if normal period come, there is no chance of getting pregnant. However, she said that she feel nausea in the morning when she wake up. I fingered her again weeks after the period and thought that's fine. But when my friend said that there is a chance if it's in the middle of the period.
Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with Prozac withdrawal? If so did it eventually go away and how did you handle it?
Avatar f tn Chronic dizziness, fatigue, lightheadeness, nausea, extreme belching(sometimes hundreds of times a day), diagnosed last year with a rare form of hypoglycemia.. Reactive Hypoglycemia. I suffer random spells of tachycardia, & chest discomfort. Ive seen 3 cardiologists & had every test minus a heart cath(I tried to get thst, but told NO). Including: 3 stress tests, 5 holters, 3 echos, 5 ekgs & blood work 3 times since 2013. Nothing found other than mild pvcs, & tachycardia.
Avatar f tn I did a quick search because I have heard the term reactive hypoglycemia and was curious. It sounds like Reactive Hypoglycemia refers to people that have low blood sugar after eating, even if they eat sufficient carbs. It seems as though Reactive Hypoglycemia exists in some people entirely separate from any diagnosis of diabetes. (but they check to make sure as hypoglycemia is a symptom often experienced by diabetics).
Avatar n tn When I become hungry it happens all of a sudden and if I don't eat within about 5 minutes of that I become extremely nauseous and sometimes my hands get shaky too. As soon as I eat something I'm fine. I am a healthy 34 year old woman and not overweight. I don't have heartburn or acid reflux or any other conditions like that. Is this just a normal reaction to hunger or could it be something else?
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar f tn I've been experiencing extreme brain fog every day since I was 19 (I'm 23 now). It's gotten worse within the past year. There is no clarity to my thoughts, it feels like I'm walking around stoned. I have even become a little antisocial because of this...people judge me as being ignorant because of my inability to think clearly. Lately, I've been getting dizzy.
Avatar f tn had a migraine and nausea: didn't eat but kept hydrated: did not sleep well night before Seizure 2: had a stomach virus (or food poisoning) and kept hydrated but ate very little for approx 24 hours. Slightly sleep deprived, but not extreme. I have read that seizures related to hypoglycemia are non epileptic. Can someone confirm this? The neurologist basically said he couldn't find any epileptic tenancies and since it was only one seizure to not worry about it.
Avatar m tn clock and not waking up until late in the afternoon. When i wake up i experience dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and real bad headaches. I do not understand these complications when i get enough sleep i am still tired, and i wine up going to bed real early that night..I also experience ringing in my right ear. and my heart beats real fast when im trying to go to sleep at night.
Avatar f tn It sounds to me like you are suffering from very low cortisol. Are you taking anything for adrenal support yet, such as hydrocortisone? Nausea and shaking are definitely signs of this. My son had these symptoms.
Avatar n tn Tingling sensations, fatigue, hot flashes OR feeling unexplainably chilled, headaches, nausea, inability to concentrate are all symptoms of hypoglycemia. And some people (me included) can have a racing heart and discomfort in the chest caused by muscle spasms when hypoglycemic. Maybe a glucose tolerance test would show how your pancreas responds to stimulus. You might want to start taking some written notes when this happens... what did you eat that day?
Avatar n tn Lately after periods of high activity levels and not eating much he has been getting stomach pains and sometimes vomiting. He also gets pale to the point of being green. Is it possible that he has low blood pressure or hypoglycemia?
