Avatar m tn yes, i was diagnosed with hypoglycemia of some kind, at the doctors office my blood pressure was 70/50 i felt dizzy, its always low, and my resting heart rate is 45 or so , and i do smoke which i think is wierd, i used to exercise a little, plus i also take klonopin and zoloft......
Avatar n tn Have you had a glucose tolerance test to see if your body produces too much insulin as a reaction when you eat? This is a different test from having a simple blood sugar test -- you must drink a sugary solution and blood is drawn several times to see how your body is reacting. Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test.
Avatar n tn The symptoms are vary varied and might include dizziness, feeling generally out of it, fatigue, irritability, disorientation, tingling. Testing is the key as if your numbers have been high for awhile you will feel low even if you're not. You should treat any lows below 60 (some treat below 70) with a couple glucose tablets. You will learn the correct number for you.
Avatar f tn I would see your doctor about this very soon, as folks with hypoglycemia may develop diabetes later on. You may have pre-diabetes, and need to go on a diabetic diet. Meanwhile, make sure you have both protein and carbohydrates with all meals, and with all snacks, which you seem to be doing. You also might need to get a dietary consult and/or see an endocrinologist, for both are specially trained in working with people with blood sugar problems.
Avatar f tn I started feeling sick on Saturday (fatigue and general malaise). By Sunday I felt flu-ish. Monday I felt better, but still fatigue and generaly blah but started feeling dizzy. By Tuesday morning my lips were tingling and feeling kinda numb - really it's more like my whole face, but most noticeable in my lips. The dizzy sensations were more pronounced, and I had a pain in my side that I was afraid might be the beginning of a kidney stone pain.
Avatar f tn I have done a little searching and found that some fatigue up to maybe 15-20 minutes after a BM is normal and caused by bacteria needing to replenish itself..I don't know how accurate that is, but I have the fatigue even before, and it's not a little fatigue, it has me laid up in bed all day sometimes until I can go, and completely drained after for at least half an hour.
358971 tn?1330888975 i also have PCOS and chronic Hypoglycemia that is not diabetes related. i was misdiagnosed with CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). what are your weight issues...losing or gaining? i have been trying for over a year to gain weight. i am 5'1" and only weigh 90 lbs. this is all new to me. i have extreme highs and lows...more lows than anything. my normal blood sugar barely ever gets over 70, even though i eat about 8-10 times daily. the cysts come and go and are sometimes VERY painful....
Avatar n tn Is hypoglycemia the same as diabetes? What's the difference between type 1 and type2 diabetes? is it the age of the person that makes the difference between the two types?
Avatar m tn I read somewhere that D-Ribose helps with fatigue, and to my surprise, it actually does. This is my 4th day on it and I can def. notice a slight difference already. My question is, could I have some sort of glucose deficiency? (Maybe overactive pancreas producing insulin?) Because, immediately after i take my ribose, my cognition and brain fog immediately vanishes, and I can concentrate and study with an immense improvement.
Avatar n tn ve had both extreme symptoms of hypoglycemia (chills, intense hunger, rapid heartbeat, etc) and type 2 diabetes (frequent urination, thirst, rashes, fatigue) and have had several blood tests done but haven't been diagnosed with either. I was wondering if there were any specific conditions that could cause both symptoms of hypo/hyperglycemia. Thanks.
1353650 tn?1429463374 Thanks for all information I too have severe hypoglycemia I have fibromyalgia/ chronic fatigue and a lot of pain. I was a firefighter medic and working 30 plus years on the job a lot of orthopedic surgery and later was dx with fibro it has got to the point where the pain and fatigue is so bad its badly interfering with my daily life..
Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) with Prozac withdrawal? If so did it eventually go away and how did you handle it?
Avatar f tn Chronic dizziness, fatigue, lightheadeness, nausea, extreme belching(sometimes hundreds of times a day), diagnosed last year with a rare form of hypoglycemia.. Reactive Hypoglycemia. I suffer random spells of tachycardia, & chest discomfort. Ive seen 3 cardiologists & had every test minus a heart cath(I tried to get thst, but told NO). Including: 3 stress tests, 5 holters, 3 echos, 5 ekgs & blood work 3 times since 2013. Nothing found other than mild pvcs, & tachycardia.
Avatar n tn Many people who deal with hypoglycemia find that they do best if they remove all caffeine from their diets, and all simple sugars, for both stimulate the pancreas to produce insulin, and in the case of hypoglycemia, produce TOO MUCH insulin. Many hypoglycemic folks find that they do best with diets that either go fairly low-carbohydrate or are made up of complex carbohydrates that digest slowly so as not to overly stimulate the pancreas.
Avatar n tn I have a home BP monitor and during these times I notice my BP drops down to sometimes 100/60 when my BP is almost allways normally around 135/80. I have also gained about 35 pounds in the last several months with no explanation except for my incresed hunger. I am a 29 yrold male can you please tell me if I'm at the verge of diabetes or is this something else?
Avatar m tn Could this be why I am extremely fatigue and dealing with hypoglycemia? If anyone has any comments, I would greatly appreciate it. They said my heart is fine and thyroid is fine. I have orderes a saliva test against my doctors wish. They seem to think that trying to find answers online is classic signs of hypochondria. Please help. They have prescribed anti-anxiety meds.
Avatar n tn If your glucose levels are running too high, usually the person shows the typical symptoms of unusual thirst and fatigue. If low, dizziness, inability to concentrate, headaches, yawning for no reason, shaking hands, irritability or depression, sleepiness, or a dry mouth or eyes can be present. I would ask my doctor to perhaps do a glucose tolerance test, which will sometimes show if a person is having hypoglycemic episodes.
Avatar m tn s, nurses, allied health and dietitians many questions and even joined a Hypoglycemia support group, and I found out that diet alone helped me through my darkest hours...I am not joking. I sincerely believe that TYPE 2 can be almost eradicated and also insulin resistance /hypoglycemia too, all these can pretty much be non existent, just from changing our diet...
Avatar n tn Keep some small juice boxes or cans handy wherever you are, and if he complains of headache, fatigue, or if he seems cold for no reason, you may want to offer some juice to bring sugar levels up. If I were you, I would ask to be referred to a juvenile diabetes specialist, who can tell you first-hand that seizures can be caused by severe hypoglycemia. No, he does not sound like he is diabetic, but severe hypoglycemia can be just as scary for parents to deal with.
Avatar m tn clock and not waking up until late in the afternoon. When i wake up i experience dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and real bad headaches. I do not understand these complications when i get enough sleep i am still tired, and i wine up going to bed real early that night..I also experience ringing in my right ear. and my heart beats real fast when im trying to go to sleep at night.
Avatar f tn These are vague symptoms for hypoglycemia. I would see an Endocrinologist and have some bloodwork done.
Avatar n tn I have a problem which has been going on for several years and I can't seem to get to the bottom of it. I'm 38 years old and have the following symptoms - an occasional feeling of fatigue in the center of my chest, in my arms and in my legs. It's not a weakness because I still have all my strength. It feels more like a fatigue or cold rubbery sensation. I also notice a slight trembling and twitching in my fingers and thumb.
Avatar n tn hard to explain, but I seem to have .. not so much a fatigue, but more like a sick, unwell, uneasy feeling throughout the day, and when my blood sugar becomes low, this feeling I have been having only increases as well as adding in the usual symptoms of hypoglycemia -- sweating, anxiety, feeling faint. Only eating a meal that isn't conductive to weight loss will I recover to an extent, but I still am not feeling well even when my sugar level recovers.
Avatar m tn I have been having problems with hypoglycemia and I was also have fatigue for the past couple months - my arms and legs felt tired and I feel like I was craving sleep. My doctor found my TSH was 9.8 (5.4 high limit normal). All other blood panel items were normal including fasting insulin. He started me on 50mg levothyroxine. 2 days after I started taking levothyroxine, I felt like I had ALOT of energy, more than I've had in years. I've felt this way for 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn t find any epileptic tenancies and since it was only one seizure to not worry about it. I know hypoglycemia can cause seizures, but is it likely and what tests can we request from the doctors to try to confirm this (he has tried a fasting blood test of 12 hours and it came back fine)?
