I had a laparoscopy 5 weeks ago to remove stage 5 endometriosis and adhesions. My consultant said my left ovary was enlarged and white with endometrioma. He removed it all with diathermy. The first 2 weeks post op were a nightmare i was in a lot of pain mainly soreness, sitting, lying, moving, walking was a struggle. 5 weeks on and i'm feeling better a bit slow on my feet, but every so often i get a pain where my left ovary is a feeling of pressure like something is about to burst.
well this could be the hypoglycemia, i too have it but dont often have symptoms because i eat constantly and eat candy often. but i am no doctor so you should definately ask your doctor about it. hypoglycemia seems to be thought of as not serious, but in fact its just as serious as diabetes, and also can progress like diabetes. you may have been told this 5 years ago but it may have progressed to a higher level. it could be worse. you need to have your doctor check your blood sugar levels.
Have you had a glucose tolerance test to see if your body produces too much insulin as a reaction when you eat? This is a different test from having a simple blood sugar test -- you must drink a sugary solution and blood is drawn several times to see how your body is reacting. Unfortunately, when people have what is called REACTIVE HYPOGLYCEMIA (when the body reacts by over-producing insulin, which causes hypoglycemia), it can be difficult to show in a test.
I am a 24 year old female and have been suffering for the past 8 months with dizziness and flu like symtoms. I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia and am waiting for a 3rd CT scan in November. The first two showed several lymph nodes in my lower right quadrant. I'm assuming when these flair up is when I get sick with fever, vomitting, and diarrhea.
I had a lap about 2 months ago where I had to have endometriosis, an ovarian cyst and my left fallopian tube removed (from damage).
It's only been 2 months and all of my symptoms and pain are back, possibly even worse. I want opinions on what my best option is.
My case is a bit strange though. I have been very sick for the past 3 years. In the last 3 years I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism, hypercalcemia, severe nausea, severe migraines and occasional tachycardia.
You may not know that a dry mouth which can feel like thirst is one of the symptoms of hypoglycemia as well as diabetes. And logic tells us that if your mouth is dry and you are drinking lots of fluids, you will urinate often. I am a tightly-controlled type 1 diabetic, and the dry mouth feeling that I get when my glucose is low is almost identical to the sensation of having high blood sugar.
I am post menopausal having had a total hysterectomy at 27 for endometriosis and do not take hrt. Only other problem health wise which has been going on for many years now is that when i do a lot of work or anything that takes a lot of concentration i have to stop after a couple of hours as i feel very sick and jittery. Many people have some hypoglycemia(through increased insulin sensitivity) after they exercise and the effect can last for hours afterwards. If you are on insulin, you can decrease your dose prior to exercising. Otherwise, you can eat some additional carbs prior to exercising and also afterwards, with some complexed in a meal so that it lasts for a while to prevent hypoglycemia later.
If not, then perhpas the narcotic medication is to blame and another medication should be considered. Pain is miserable, but hypoglycemia can be life-threatening (especially when driving), so an alternative medication would perhaps be the smarter approach even if pain is not treated quite as well with it.
Trembling, fatigue and headaches after meals may be caused by postprandial hypoglycemia or reactive hypoglycemia. To verify this diagnosis, you need to check your blood sugar level ( a blood glucose level that falls below 70mg/dL). This condition usually occurs in individuals who do not have diabetes. Associated symptoms include sweating, dizziness, anxiety, confusion, weakness and difficulty with speech.

Actoplusmet along with diet has caused daily reading to be perfectly between 80 and 120 and A1C levels have averaged between 5.5 and 5.0. This is all without any exercise program (I do stand and walk all day, but that's all). All of this is to say that I want to take as few medications as possible. I was also prescribed Lexapro, Lamictal, and Welbutrin for dystymia and anxiety. I recently taperd off the Lexapro.
I have a follow up appointment with my doctor tomorrow question is is this something that I would have to take medication for regularly while pregnant. I already feel I'm taking too much medication now antibiotics for tooth infection plus tylenol #3 something for nausea prenatal vitamins and now this hypoglycemia. through all this I'm just praying that my baby is healthy.
Low blood sugars can be VERY scary and hard to deal with. You may want to talk to your Dr. about getting a prescription and training as to how to use a Glucophage kit. This is essentially a large dose of sugar in the form of a shot to use in severe low blood sugar situations. Also you will need to have those around you trained in its use as well in case you can not get food and sugar fast enough on your own.
you may want to call your local pharmacist and ask if your symptoms (and possibly hypoglycemia) can be an odd side effect of any or all of these antibiotics, and if so, if there are any that do not have this affect. You might also ask if hypoglycemic symptoms could be the result of an allergy to these drugs.
I tried posting one before and no responses but I was just diagnosed and don't know what to expect in pregnancy. Is anybody else hypoglycemic?

Hi - I'm new here. I have pre-diabetes (about 2 years now) and have autoimmune degenerative neuropathy (CIDP for 26 years) unrelated to diabetes. I am not overweight, and am 32 years of age. My question is: does inflammation in the nervous system cause alterations in glucose metabolism? I'm currently having multiple daily bouts of hypoglycemia - my doctors can't/won't answer my question. I'm taking IVIG, Imuran and Ultram - no steroids or antidiabetics.
