Avatar f tn And the anxiety yeah i felt like i should have been seeing the doctor for antidepressants rather than thyroid issues! So hang in there i know it ***** but hopefully we will both see good changes ahead!
Avatar n tn I am currently undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer and my daughter had Graves disease and hyperactive thyroid 2 years ago. She had to have hers removed and it actually had cancer in it as well. She had the same symptom as you and gained weight. It is not the norm but we were told it could happen.
Avatar n tn I am hypo and have increased my thyroid meds twice already, and likely still have a few increases ahead of me. My endo says increase in thyroid med requirement is 20 - 50% during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I say had because I have since had my Thyroid removed. When I experienced the hyperactive thyroid I could eat more and did not gain weight but lost it like yourself. Once you get you thyroid regulated you cannot keep eating the way you did because you will gain weight, just like any other person who eats more than necessary. Keep taking the medication-even if you think it is a good way to easily lose weight--if you don't you could get very serious complications.
Avatar m tn Just had my annual exam, and my TSH came back .014 Normal range is .40-4.00 Yikes!! My doc wants me back in a month retest. I am reading and it shows that a low TSH would be hyperactive... which I do not feel at all! If anything I have gained weight. I do not have anxiety, I don't have trouble sleeping or any of the side affects of hyperactive thyroid.
Avatar n tn i just had RAI treatment on it to stop the activity in it and, hopefully, normalize my thyroid bloodwork and eliminate (I hope) my symptons. my understanding (please correct me, Dr., if I am wrong) is that cold nodules are inactive. i was told that my hot nodule only has less than 5% chance of being cancer (had two ultrasounds and two biopsies and can back benign).
199177 tn?1490498534 Graves no, but a friend had their thyroid irradiated because it was so hyperactive. She does just fine on thyroid meds. I'm sorry to hear about this. As if you don't have enough!
Avatar n tn My son (3.5) was tested for thyroid disorder and had a TSH score of 12 with T4 score in the normal range. At the time, the only symptom of any thyroid issues was that he was falling off of the growth chart his doctor has. My son is asian and adopted, so it is difficult for me to know if this was a real problem or not.
Avatar f tn ve had hives and angioedema accompanied by symptoms of hyperthyroidism. My doctor says my thyroid levels are showing hyperactive but when he did the peroxidase test it was >1300. He told me I either had Grave's or Hashimoto's. I am currently 105lbs. but I have more symptoms of hashimoto's than grave's. So I guess I'm confused at why I have symptoms of hyperthyroidism and hashimoto's.
Avatar m tn s metabolism to burn off the food you eat. This is called Hyperactive Thyroid, Have you had your Thyroid tested (Blood Work) If not, then request the following blood tests, Free T3 and Free T4, they will more than likely try to refuse these two tests if you are in the UK and do the TSH alone (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) If you are Hyperactive, or have an overactive thyroid, this test result will be very low, indicating you need medication to supress the thyroid production.
689528 tn?1364135841 Just wondering....I was diagnosed with having a hyperactive thyroid when I was 16 or 17 (was on meds) and when I was 19 and in college I got the radioactive iodine treatment. After that I had no other treatments and was still slightly hyperactive. Just a month or so ago my doctor called me and said that now I am slightly hypothryroid. I'm wondering how I should deal with this transition....I do not notice any differences really. Could it have changed since I stopped taking birth control?
Avatar n tn A thyroid condition can cause an elevation in heart rythm. I have hyperactive thyroid and that is why I have this increase. I am taking a heart medication to slow it dow because it can beat at least 100 timer per minute. It is not forever just until my Sterioid meds are gone, SHe is waiting to see if the nodules go down.
Avatar f tn Does your PCP not treat thyroid conditions? Seems a shame to not start you on meds if labs indicate the need. That said, is your doctor scheduling the appointment with an endo or do you have to do that? Again, a shame your PCP isn't helping more with this. Doctor to doctor communication is much more efficient, quicker than an unestablished potential patient trying to get in with a specialist.
Avatar f tn t sure if I Should or not because my 4 year old is really hyperactive and I dont know how he will take it has anyone else let their kids in the delivery room when in labor and how did it go
Avatar n tn still having troubles with my hyperactive thyroid, doctors refuse to officially diagnose it although regular TSH checks say I have a low TSH (0.19), but doctor still says my symptoms are not related to this, these include horrible nightmares, persistent dizzyness, bouts of nausea, fatigue, mood irregularities, weight loss etc etc etc. It';s very distressing that the Docs think im making it all up. Anyone else having these same problems of getting shrugged off?
Avatar n tn Well, I don't have graves disease, but I have hasimoto's. I have NEVER been hyperactive in my life and all of a sudden, during my 1st pregnancy (I ended up loosing it) I became HYPERactive!! So, they just lowered my levothyroxine. I am assuming you do have graves and are having a hyper problem?
Avatar m tn Nothing came up, so i go to a Nuro doctor today and he was like okay you have nothing wrong with your brain, but i can tell you 2 things that come to mind your Thyroid or Anxiety, Here are the symptoms and my grandma has a hyperactive thyroid so it runs in the family. 1. feels like i have Pressure behind my eyes 2. Floaters and alittle blurred vision in left eye 3. Horrible underarm sweat and hot sweaty hands. 4. My moods are always up and down all the time 5. never gain weight 6.
Avatar n tn Sorry -- some background on me 24f with 2 kids -- thyroid problems started about 6m postpardom with last child or about 1 yr ago.
Avatar f tn Yes its possible to differentiate between kidney disease and pyelonephritis and depending on your lab values for blood and urine there are a couple other tests that may also be useful. You mentioned weight loss and a hyperactive thyroid. This is quite common in teen aged cats and may be the underlying cause of many of these issues.
1018884 tn?1251375859 Is it normal for the thyroid to swell when my immune system is being taxed? The swelling is just below the chin in the neck area (center), it almost looks like a mild second chin. It is a little sore when this happens. But once I've gotten my health back in control it stops being sore. Should I be concerned? Go to the doctor? I would rather do something healthy at home if possible.
Avatar f tn 1. become hyperactive and become hyperthyroid (if I could tolerate it that long) 2. have extreme anxiety. My largest dose of any of the medication was 50mcg. Now that I had the surgery I am at 100mcg and counting without ANY negative results. Although I am still in the phase of "adjusting my medication as needed" I feel absolutely wonderful.
Avatar m tn There is something called a thyroid bruit which is a vascular murmur heard over a hyperactive thyroid gland due to increased blood flow to the glands. whether you can feel a bruit,I don't know, but it could be causing it. Its usually found in graves patients.
Avatar n tn O1O as well, where my Free T4 IS 35.3 AND Free T3 is 15.12, I have been diagnosed with Graves, hyperactive thyroid.
Avatar n tn Thyroid tests in December came back with high levels of Anti-Thyroglobulin AB 35.3, High T4 Free 1.75 and low TSH .01. My doctor put me on Nature Thyroid and also began working with adrenal issues. I also have RA and take predisone and enbrel. My fatigue, weight gain, depression, heat and cold sensitivity, and dry skin have continued and after a short improvement have gotten worse. I was tested again last week and everything came back normal except my TSH which is now <.
Avatar f tn I have a hyperactive thyroid issue, I can normally lose a lot of weight pretty fast . But I can never keep it off, does anyone have any thoughts or anwsers of what I can do?
