Hydrocodone withdrawal long

Common Questions and Answers about Hydrocodone withdrawal long

vicodin

Avatar f tn This past May my gp sent me to a rheumetologist. I'd been on hydrocodone for about 3 years and worked up to taking 1 to 3 pills a day. Soon as went to the rheumetologist I was taken off the hydrocodone and put on 300 mg of ultram er. I started getting cold sweats and shakes and was clueless to what was going on cause I was never addicted to anything before. Of course it all happened at night so I went to the er and they, the doctors, were also clueless.
Avatar n tn So after a few days, any withdrawal you feel is going to be a tramadol withdrawal and not a hydrocodone withdrawal. And yes, it will be worse, there are many more horror stories about tram than hydrocodone. I had a doctor try to take me off of hydrocodone by giving me tramadol a few years ago when I was stopping meds after a surgery, and the withdrawals were terrible.
Avatar m tn It does sound like it could be withdraw symptoms. Usually withdraw last about 7 days. The worst days are days 3-4. Just let him know that things will get better. Luckily he was not on the meds for very long so his withdraw will not be as severe as other peoples on here. He should be fine in no time.
Avatar n tn How long and intense will withdrawal be if I stop 4-5 vicodin a day that I have taken regularly for months?
Avatar m tn It does depend on how long you were on the meds. It sounds like classic withdrawal, which CAN also cause muscle cramps/aches, sleplessness and depression. The symptoms each can vary in their intensity and duration. If you are not trying to recover as many do by "going cold turkey", you may want to be weaned off a little more gently and slowly so the discomfort is not so apparent. You might talk with your doctor about this.
Avatar n tn What are the withdrawal symptoms from Hydrocodone and how long will they last? I've been taking 1 or 2 10-325s a day for about a year for knee pain and quit a few days ago. I'm suffering from nausea that lasts from the time I wake up in the morning until about 12:00 noon. And I still don't feel well even then. I would really appreciate this information, as I'm starting to think there is something seriously wrong with me. Thank you!
Avatar f tn Do you mean how long until the drug can no longer be detected in your system, or how long will withdrawals last after you stop taking them? Hydrocodone has a half life of about 4 hours. (That means half as much will still be in your blood stream 4 hours after your last dose...then half THAT in another 4 hours, and so on.) In terms of withdrawals, however, it depends on how long you've been taking them, your average daily intake, etc.
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever experienced the following symptoms during hydrocodone withdrawal: dilated pupils, nervousness, cold hands, sweating and talking about things which make absolutely NO SENSE. My husband is recovering from surgery and has stopped taking the pain medication. Last night, he began talking nonsense. He is also having vivid dreams that he swears are reality. I don't know if he is hallucinating or what but it is very scary. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar n tn You are going to be ok! It will be a few days of not feeling well and low energy. Maybe some insomnia, but it shouldn't last too long. You were not on it that long, and your dose was not real high. Don't give up. Going back to the pills is not the answer or a fix to the WD. It only fixes it temporarily. The best thing is to go thru it and get it over now! It may not be as bad as you think. Take hot baths and drink lots of fluids! Good luck!

Avatar n tn i've been taking loracet for yrs ive just stopped 5 days ago how long does the withdrawls last?
1845824 tn?1333374427 Well...I know that after I detoxed, about 2 months later I ended up having to take pain meds for about a month due to impacted wisdom teeth and surgery...after my surgery when I stopped taking the meds I was terrified that I would withdraw, but I didn't. Chances are if you stop now cold turkey, you would have minimal withdrawals, in my experience. I would try stopping right away, and give the remaining 10 to your wife.
