10444775 tn?1410183637 NO...the pharmacist is NOT sticking his nose where it does not belong. It is correct to question WHY she is getting the same pain medication from 2 different doctors.... I am assuming she let BOTH doctors know what the other was prescribing?? She will only be allowed to have one doctor give her the medication, BUT NOT BOTH..regardless of dosage.
Avatar n tn m looking at this as a blessing to help me finally get off this stuff and have found altnerative medicines that are homopathic and have NO SIDE AFFECTS. So I believe that is the way I should go and be done with prescription medicines. Thanks for listening . . . I know there's a lot here but I wanted to cover all my bases! Blessings!
Avatar m tn Hi there, sounds like everyone has gave you great information. I too totally agree. I realize you probably already know this from all the good information from the community, but I would just like to reinerate that as long if you only have (1) Doctor that wrote both controlled prescriptions you will be just fine. Please remember I'm no Dr., and don't have all the answers, but with that said I like to give healthy opinions.
Avatar f tn You need to check with your Doctor to be sure that you can Refill your Prescription sooner than the 30 days so that you can take your pills accordingly. I HOPE and PRAY that you will be feeling better and DOING better VERY soon!!! PLEASE keep us updated as we are VERY concerned about you and HOW you are doing.......
Business man2 Hydrocodone only comes with either acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Tramadol is another medication that I use with my patients that is of equal effectiveness but does come without the other medications. However, some patients will experience nausea with tramadol. Good luck!
Avatar m tn They said as of Oct 1 they would no longer honor refills on a narcotic and that I had to get a new prescription from my Doctor. Is this true?
Avatar f tn I was told at my last pain management appointment that I could no longer fill my prescription from my primary care provider for the xanax I am prescribed for my anxiety that I had to choose between my chronic pain medication or my anxiety meds is this legal
Avatar n tn I have a prescription for hydorcodine and today I had dental work and asked for something a little stronger than the hydrocodine. I was given a small prescription for darecett. The pharmacist seemed very concerned that I should have the darvecett and claimed the hydrocodine was a better pain reliever. In addition, she seemed very concerned that I might mix the two and liver toxicity.
229538 tn?1300377767 Currently a prescription for hydrocodone-containing Vicodin can be refilled five times before the patient has to see a physician again. If the drug is reclassified patients could only receive a single 90-day prescription, similar to oxycodone. The drug could also not be prescribed by nurses and physician assistants.
Avatar n tn So are you wanting to quit and get off this merry-go-round? Dihydrocodeine is an opiate. Withdrawals last about 5-7 days. Near the top right of page is the Health Pages. Look at the Thomas recipe and the Amino Acid Protocol. These can help you through the withdrawals and after. The tough part will be staying away from it the rest of your life. You can do this!
1475473 tn?1310361067 I just found out a few days ago that I'm pregnant. I take hydrocodone & I am addicted to it considering I have been on it for over a year. It's hard to stop because I have so many things during the day that I have to get done, but getting off of them as I have been doing has been so hard because the withdrawls are painful & all I can do is sleep. I heard that not weaning myself off of them can be harmful for the baby..

Avatar f tn Sunday, the pain got really excruciating, so I took ten ibuprofin...to no avail. I went ahead and took out my old script of antibiotics and Lortab and took one of each that evening, about five pm. The next day I went in for a pre employment drug screen. A friend of mine told me that the Lortab will show up as positive for narcotics on my drug test. Is this true, and if it was prescribed to me two years ago will the prescript be null and void if I present it to the doctor?
Avatar n tn Honestly I don't see that as a lot considering u just had surgery and a lot of drs would have given u a stronger opiate2begin with.Let me rephrase I don't think180-7.5lortabs r a crazy amount4the1st month after surgery BUT did ur Dr say they r for 1month or3.I assume its for however many u need as u were able2fill2refills n a month+ur original script which they wouldn't have filled if u were trying2get them too early.
Avatar n tn I have ovarian cysts, so I deal with quite a bit of pain almost daily. I had a prescription for oxycodone(tylox). I ran out of it, I took a couple of my mother-in-laws hydrocodone(lortab). I have to take a urine drug screen. Will they be able to tell the difference between the two opiates? I know I should not have taken a script that is not for me but sometimes the pain is almost unbearable!
Avatar n tn I had to have a drug test for a new job and told them ahead of time that I take hydrocodone, they were fine with it and it did not show up on the test anyway. Sorry but I don't remember how many days I was off of it. I work for doctors and will find out for you.
Avatar n tn Hydrocodone is a CIII and Oxycodone is a CII... the CII is more controlled and cannot be filled in most states without a handwritten rx that is sealed.
Avatar n tn Hey guys, I just wanted to ask a question. My doctor prescribes me with Hydrocodone and they go within' a week or so. I don't abuse them, it's just on the lable to take them as prescribed, I was wondering how long should I wait until I call in a refill? I don't go up to my doctor for 2 months between each other and he gives me 2 scripts for 8 weeks, but they go in that week because I can't sleep at night unless I take one or two for the pain.
Avatar f tn why would you want to be doing this? You just had the issue with the old prescription getting filled and causing trouble at the Pharmacy on your other thread. Both the state and the DEA monitor controlled substances and 41 states have the Prescription Monitoring Program which tracks you by name so anywhere....cash or insurance...online or in store...fill a controlled substance both Pharmacists and Drs. can see this.
Avatar m tn I am totally scared right now. I have took hydrocodone a few times will being pregnant. I have not told anyone about this. I only took them a few times for pain I was having in my lower back. The problem is, I am now 33 weeks pregnant and starting to become scared about it. The last time I took them was when I was 31 weeks. Like I said, I was not taking daily. Just every now and then I would take a couple to take away the pain.I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn ring your pharmacy and ask... they should be able to tell you. I do know that oxycodone is a fairly powerful opiate but i'm not familar with hydrocodone. THey are both way stronger than codcamol (which is panadol and codeine) and neurofen (which is ibuprofen) Codcamol and neurofen are both avail over the counter at the chemist but you should only be able to get oxycodone or hydrocodone on prescription from a doctor.. Let me know if I have this wrong tho...
Avatar m tn The federal rules have changed for hydrocodone and medications containing the drug including Vicodin, Norco, and Hycomine cough syrup -- no refills allowed, written prescription required, and 30 day supply per Rx only. Your doctor can write up to 3 months of Rx at a time, with each prescription detailed "DO NOT REFILL UNTIL" You're fortunate -- I have to visit every month.
Avatar m tn I have a prescription for hydrocodone 5/500. I have been taking a 1/2 of 7.5/750 nightly. Will a urine or hair drug test be able to tell the difference in my taking 1/2 of 7.5/750 versus my prescription for 5/500?
Avatar n tn This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't mix methadone with hydrocodone. Both drugs supress your respiratory system. If you are still in withdrawls from oxycontin the opiate is still in your system and it would be mixing the 3 drugs. I would be afraid to take it all together. Good luck, this is not an easy road. My prayers are with you.
Avatar f tn After yet another surgery, I was again prescribed the pain pills and the original prescription was for only one month.... yet after that month, I was hooked and I've taken them, increasing steadily in quantity, since 2007. I am now on day 4 of withdrawals. My advice is BE CAREFUL and if you are in pain, take only the bare minimum. As soon as you can quit taking them QUIT.
Avatar f tn s been calling for help, questions, and prescription pain pill refills, told me once that the doctor could not write a hydrocodone prescription on Friday that was due to be filled on Sunday, and that he or I must call back on Sunday and request the refill from the emergency on call physician. I did, and the physician said no they no longer write prescriptions over the phone and couldn't advise me. This was Sunday before Labor day, so the doctor wouldn't be there til Tues.
Avatar m tn I agree with Ashelen - if your prescription says it is supposed to be a 22 day supply, then it would be available to be refilled (providing your doctor has written the script with available refills) on day 22. This is not just with CVS, this is with all pharmacies.
