1196922 tn?1265100570 (2) I have had it for two weeks now, and with the Maxidex I am treating myself with a very outdated (2 years) eye dialator called isopto-homatropine 5%every other day? Can you make any recommendations! Thank you kindly for your help!!
Avatar m tn I had a sclera bucking surgery with air bubble injected 4 weeks ago. I was asked to have 2 drops of Atropine per day to keep the pupil dilated. However, having the pupil dilated cause the vision very blur. I don't have any pain or uncomfortable since 2 weeks ago. When can I stop the Atropine ? My surgeon is on vacation till 2 weeks later and I cannot ask him this question until 2 weeks later. Even worse, the effect of the Atropine will not disappear until 14 days I stop using it.
1413519 tn?1281818201 This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink. Although his redness has diminished, his pupil is HUGE and he has very poor vision from that eye. This is after about 2 1/2 weeks of incident and 1 week of specialist treatment plan. I tried to surf net for information with little results.
Avatar f tn Also the type of drop used makes a huge difference. Neosynephrine and tropicamide wear off in 2- hrs in most every one. Cyclogel can last several days, homatropine almost a week and atropine over a week. For our patients that have this problem we us half the regular amount and we use only short acting neosynephrine and tropicamide.
Avatar f tn It may be that you are on another drop like homatropine or cyclogyl that is causing the dilation. Also, it might just be part of the normal healing process. Please talk to your surgeon to see how you are doing. Good Luck.
Avatar m tn Hi Carol , How are you? Are there other symptoms present? You may benefit from follow-up consultation with your attending physician to rule out any effect or complication of the procedure. The most frequent complication of vitrectomy are infection, high intraocular pressure, bleeding in the eye, and cataract. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn You are greatly exceeding the standard dose of Durezol with is usually one drop every 6 hours. 3. A uveitis that severe you should also be using some sort of red top drop to keep your pupil dilated (atropine, homatropine or cyclogyl) 3. If you are no better after a weeks therapy your treatment needs stepped up perhaps oral steroids. 4. You also need a work up to determine why you have uveitis.
Avatar n tn My doctor said he usually washes them only after he has examined someone with an eye infection. He was a bit irritated when I asked him to please wash his hands for the second part of my exam.
Avatar f tn It could be that you got some sort of eyedrop like visine or atropine in the eyes or the contacts and caused the eyes to be blurry up close and with dilated pupils. Look in your drawers for a drop with a red top (cyclogyl, atropine, homatropine, scopoloamine - these are all prescription strength dilating drops.) If that is not found to be the cause, you need to call your eye doctor right away.
Avatar f tn There have been a few posts on here from people who have suffered similar problems with the dilation meds. I don't know what their outcome was, but I know it is not that uncommon, at least on here.
Avatar f tn I could only see grey and lights for 3 hours when my vision started to come back. I saw an eye doctor after and they dilated my eyes. They sent me home with Homatropine 5%. I took that twice a day until stopping after the first dose this Sunday. My pupil has shrunk but not back to normal. I’m so nervous because I can’t find anything specific on how long it will take my pupil to go back to normal or if it ever will.
Avatar n tn I had great distance vision till university then despite my constant complaints to many ophtalmologists that my eyes cant be used to wearing glasses (starting with -0.5) they missed to make cyclopegic refraction for many years and my eyes were in more and more bad condition while they continued keeping rise in the minus side. I evaded to wear glasses. When I had -1.
Avatar f tn I awoke a week and a half ago with redness and pain in my left eye. I did not have an injury nor was I hit in this eye. No injury to the eye that I was aware of. I just got up and noticed that the left eye was red. The next day pain started in the left eye. The pain became so severe that I took pain medication i. e. Vicodin, Tylenol with Codeine, Motrin, Aspirin continuously. I called my PC and he referred me to an opthalmologist whom I have seen 3 times.
10444775 tn?1410183637 Hi, I read a lot of your posts on here and I understand what you are feeling...I have a question that I hope someone can answer. My family doctor has been giving me hydrocodone 10mg. 1 tablet twice daily (60 monthly) for several years now. Well, about 6 weeks ago I was in a car accident and it broke my neck and crushed 2 vertebrates-which I had surgery on. And also, from the accident, I have 6 more fractures in my neck that has to heal on their on.
Avatar m tn Bad depression the kind where you need someone to sit with you for safety. Not taking hydrocodone is extremely difficult because with out it I am in 8-10 on the pain scale. I have had 6 spinal surgeries and I have no hope for any other surgery. I use meditation to get through the pain. Some days its just PAIN and nothing works. I am only66 I am wondering how hydrocodone works on my depression?
Avatar n tn This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't mix methadone with hydrocodone. Both drugs supress your respiratory system. If you are still in withdrawls from oxycontin the opiate is still in your system and it would be mixing the 3 drugs. I would be afraid to take it all together. Good luck, this is not an easy road. My prayers are with you.
Avatar m tn I'm not surprised Suboxone worked well for you. It's a whole lot more potent than any hydrocodone preparation on the market. It's a very long-acting synthetic narcotic with a half-life of some 36 hours. Suboxone is also a whole lot more difficult to detox from than hydrocodone. Do you get your pills from a doctor for a pain condition or are you getting them on the street and using them recreationally?
6774380 tn?1384673029 After my right eye got infected ,optic nerve was damaged and pupil size is larger than normal , vizion is blurred , inside fullfilled with silicon and does not has lens . Doctor told me that it is very difficult to change this condition ,maybe impossible. My concern is ,however is about the appearance.I want to know if there is a way to make it looks normal.
Avatar m tn I was hit in the right eye with a high speed marble which fractured my sphincter muscle. Three years later it is still a fully blown pupil, it will not even quiver! I cannot tolerate contacts and my Mydriasis is quite vulnerable when being manipulated with a lens placement. I have Photophobia and some vision loss. Someone said it might be something I put inside? No I would never and that would cause serious side-effects and still not reduce the size!
