Not really any difference. Vicoprofen has Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. Vicodin has Tylenol. Strength would be the same if they both were the same dose.

ROXIES is a slang name for Roxicet. Roxicet is the generic name for Percocet. (oxycodone + tylonol.) Very potent, highly addictive but very effective schedule 2 narcotic. Illegal to have without a prescription. As to why it is being snorted, snorting is a way addicts use certain drugs as a quicker way to achieve a high than ingesting. Opiates give a feeling of greatness and euphoria that nothing can explain. The reason people pay so much for them is in short one of the more potent pain killers.

avisg is our resident expert on Trams. Vicodin is also an opiate. It is Hydrocodone and addictive as all opiates are. On the addiction scale Vics are not as strong as other opiates. Why do you ask?

The only reason why Tramadol (Ultracet, Ultram, etc.) is not considered a narcotic is because at the moment it is unscheduled in the USA and pretty much everywhere else. It is fairly new being researched and first put on the market in the 90's.

I have been taking Roxicet for 7 years and need to come off now for work. I take about 5 a day and found that i cant ween with roxicets. I want to ween with suboxones so i picked up ten of them. I understand i will have so rough days but how would you taper with this many? I can get more subs but would like to see if i can do it with this amount. Do i suck on these or eat them? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Since changing to Norco my intake has doubled and has me concerned. I know they both have same amount of hydrocodone but does Lorcet work longer because of the Acetaminophen? Does the Acetaminophen slower the disribution of hydrocodone? The Norco seems to work faster but the Lorcet seems to work longer. Any input?

Hi Jujubean48, When you have been on the same Medication for such a long period of time, many times you build up a tolerance to your medications. That's what happened to me after I was on Norco (Hydrocodone) 7.5 for 7 years. After that length of time they just quit working on me! :( My PM Doctor switched me to Percocet 10/325's for my BT (Breakthrough) Meds along with giving me a Long-Acting Med and that took care of the problem. Hopefully, the Ultram will give you some relief.

I take hydrocodone and can take up to six of these a day. I am concerned with becoming addicted and if using six pills a day is safe. The Roxicet is an immediate release of the whole 30mg of oxycodone and the Oxycontin, if swallowed whole, is a timed release version of 30mg of oxycodone. Secondly, telling a doctor that you have an opiate addiction does not mean you won't be treated for pain. A former colleague of mine swears that Tramadol is more effective for her than Hydrocodone. She actually went from Hydrocodone to Tramadol. Why is it effective for her? Because we are all different and different medications work differently on each of us. Actually your physician may be making a smart move. In my opinion it's worth a try. Tramadol is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to moderately severe chronic pain in adults. It works very similarly to morphine.
