Hydrocodone vs oxycodone conversion

Common Questions and Answers about Hydrocodone vs oxycodone conversion

vicodin

It is spelt Codeine, and it really sucks, get the Hydrocodone or Dihydrocodeine,or the oxycodone or maybe oxymorphone, then again why not morphine?.Codeine makes me SICK.Did you know that even though Codeine is a "Natural" Opioid all of the Medical Supplies are actually made by Methylating Morphine in a Pharmaceutical laboratory(not exactly natural)is it then?. Go the Morphine, kill to get it if you have to,well maybe a few Opium Poppies anyway.
And Norco contains hydrocodone along with acetaminophen (tylenol). Based on the opioid conversion table, 17 mg of hydrocodone is equivalent to 10 mg of morphine. Therefore, 20 mg of Kadian is equivalent to about 34 mg of hydrocodone. So, if you take 20 mg of Norco every 4 to 5 hours, the norco is stronger than the current dose of Kadian you are taking, as over a 12 hour period, you would have taken 40-60 mg of norco (or 23 - 35mg morphine equivalent).
I am trying to wean off of hydrocodone but have run out. I did get access to oxycodone 5mg, and I have to use those to continue to wean instead of the hydro. I know this sounds like an out-of-the-frying-pan and into-the-fire kind of approach, but I have tried and cannot do cold-turkey with my responsibilities to my family and my secret not getting out. I have no support. This is entirely up to me. I know we can't post dosages to wean, but what are your thoughts on this plan?
I appreciate your concern, but I don't think you realize the physiological implications of 31 years of uninterrupted use of hydrocodone, oxycodone, dilaudid, demerol, morphine, propoxyphene, codeine -- and I'm not talking about "as prescribed usage; I'm talking about dosages that would kill a dozen men ... you name it, I've used it. The research I cited comparing lifetime opiate addicts like me to stroke victims is not meant as methaphore. It is an incontrovertible fact.
I enjoy beading and other crafty things, when I can. I also like debating politics for fun, not for serious conversion of others. I'm interested in alternative medicine and homeopathic remedies. I hope to get this neck, shoulder, and arm pain under control some day and am looking into Artificial Disc Replacement. I'm not going to go into my religious views, but I do love God. I'm also a voracious reader and bibliomaniac (I love books). That's all I can think to share now.
sub/ per /mg is over 10 x stronger than hydrocodone...conversion charts say 1 mg of sub is equal to 20-30 mgs of hydro...i was at 100 mgs a day of hydro and 2 mgs/used when i ran out of pills/held me...and that would be bout right cos that would equal 60 mgs of hydro...but it felt better than 60 mgs of hydro cs i would feel a bit of wd on only 60 mgs a day....it is hard to compare the 2 drugs as mechanisms of action r very different..but n essence, both r narcotics...
When one stops taking their anticholinesterase ie oxycodone, codeine, heroin, morphine, hydrocodone.oxymorphone(tried 3,6-diacetyl,14hydroxymorphine lately, good god what a RUSH) ad nauseum, then the Acetylcholine that has ACCUMULATED is "Explosivley"released causing a relative Dopamine Deficiency.
As to what is normal. The doctor is correct. Age plays a factor. Download the Age vs (Average) Testosterone chart in the Files area. If you look it over you will see that at your level it would be "normal" but you would need to be over 100 years old! Not good. The average normal level at your age is over 600 ng/dL and the current thinking from the AACE guidelines is that levels under 325 ng/dL are the new treatment (or further diagnosis at least) indicated.
Go to google and put in opiate and sub conversion and see what comes up. I know there are sites that do this but I think you have jumped from the frying pan into the fire unless you were on at least 20 lortab 10's a day. I know doctors get carried away with this medicine but there are some good doctors out there and you are very wrong about your dosage. I imagine at 6mg a day you are feeling good.
