I just started on Zohydro ER because the idea of not taking acetaminophen with hydrocodone was tempting. (There's a Black Box warning about the acetaminophen in Vicodin).
The first day I started the Z. (about 5 days ago) I got less pain relief and much more pain than I had with 5/375 Vicodin! That's seems totally wrong but it happened. The dose of the Z is the same as I got for the number of 5/375s I took per day.
Anyone else on Z. and how do you like it? Any side effects?
I had many side effects. Headaches, severe heartburn accompanied with hiccups. Blisters and discoloration all over my tongue and back of my throat. By day 6 my feet and ankles were badly swollen and it was getting difficult to swallow. My doc said I was having a systemic reaction and to quit immediately. We are going to try Subutex now and I hope it works.
On all the info I found, the only side effect I had that was listed was headache.

there are moderate interactions between Nyquil( containing Nyquil) and Vicodin (containing hydrocodone). Using HYDROcodone together with doxylamine may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience some impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also take the medicines at different intervals.
It could be a side effect of the methadone or even an allergic type reaction to it. I remember when I took Macrobid (antibiotic) for a urinary infection, I had a high fever (102.3) every time I would take it, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to stop it immediately because I was having an allergic reaction to it. I too am on 175 - 200mg of Zoloft and I admit when first starting the medication I was feeling quite dizzy and nauseated. Dosage started at 50mg, then after a week increased, and every week increased until I reached 175mg. In the past my doctor has had me on Celexa and Effexor but Zoloft seems to work the best, for me that is. Everyone is different. I waver between 175 - 200mg depending on the kind of day I'm having.

Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. i have been diagnosed with ADhd but don't get treatment. I have asthma so I am on meds that aready make me shakey, and I have little annoying heart flutters that get worse with"speed" type meds. The heart flutters have been addressed and it isn't a real health issue. I am on low doses of valium 2 mg a day when needed, usually only use it at night to try to sleep. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief. My friend just quit taking Chantix due to the inability to handle the side effects. She has noticed that since quitting the Chantix alcohol has effected her differently. Doctor had me on 50 mg Norco (5 pills) daily for back pain. It stopped working and I hate the side-effects, so I quit after 8 months four days ago. I'm not an abuser or a recreational user. No alcohol problems. Muscles are cramping and aching and I can't sleep. Will it hurt to drink a little alcohol? Again, I'm not a junkie or a drunk. I don't even feel euphoria from any drug, so I don't even understand the appeal.

Second, many deaths have occurred from mixing benzodiazapines (temazepam) with alcohol, and there are additive effects there too, and lastly, your liver and kidneys. The acetaminphon that's usually in most hydrocodone tablets is bad enough, let alone all of the other meds, and the alcohol too. Mixing alcohol and drugs at the same time is super rough on the liver especially. Know first of all that you can get off these meds.
