Avatar m tn I found this sight researching how to detox from Vicodin. I'm impressed! I take Vicodin every day and really want to stop. I'm embarrassed to admit that it has a hold on me as I have convinced myself that I can stop any time and that I'm in control of my 'recreational' drug use. When I think about getting through work tomorrow without it or not using it to help me 'stuff' my issues I feel a paralyzing fear and don't know if I even can or want to do it.
Avatar f tn I have had back problems for about 10 years, I'm 32, but just recently I decided to go to the doctor to get pain meds. I was prescribed Hydros and they didn't help so he added Tramadol 50mg and upped my dosage of Hydrocodone to 5mg. It's only been a couple of months and I feel like I am getting addicted. I only take 2 in the evening because it wakes me up (I'm a student and I work from home) and then I take my normal Xanax to help me sleep.

1159193 tn?1265479257 I came across the new craze, codeine parties. People taking them recreational thought that was quite scary. Also when searching for codeine withdrawal you would get sites or pop ups selling you the bloody stuff. Same with people have a view of its prescribed it not dangerous attitide. What do you think?
229538 tn?1300377767 Jimmy WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal health advisers want new restrictions on hydrocodone, the highly addictive painkiller that has grown into the most widely prescribed drug in the U.S. The recommendation from a panel of drug safety specialists would subject Vicodin and dozens of other medicines to the same restrictions as other narcotic drugs like oxycodone and morphine.
Avatar n tn I've been taking 40-70mg of hydrocodone daily (in 10-15mg doses) daily for about 5 months. I was substituting 15-25mg of this with oxycodone but today was my first day off that and I felt like ****, panic attacks and shaky no appetite even with hydrocodone. I'm off the oxy easy but i know the hydro will be harder to wean off in a couple weeks. Also looking for help on this topic, please see my new post.
Avatar f tn I was clean from hydrocodone for 4 days and relapsed. I've been relapsing for the past 5 years. I can't stand that I was ever I introduced to hydrocodone! It was never for pain in the past but for the "high" of it. I want to be myself again! I miss me! I have an appointment today with a suboxone doctor and it's suppose to help me have Zero withdrawals and have No More cravings for hydrocodone. I'm praying that this works!
Avatar m tn Recently, one of my guests on the boat, an American,, seeing that I was in extreme discomfort gave me a tablet (or more correctly half a tablet), of hydrocodone with paracetamol. The tablet was marked as 10/300 so I suppose I got the dosage of 5/150 I had never even heard of these tablets before we gave them to me let alone tried anything like it. Within an hour the pain has completely gone and I had a feeling of well-being. In fact I felt great.
Avatar n tn I posted earlier about some unusual experiences with sub but didn't give any details. My doc recommended me take either 4mg or 8 to start. I was in mild WDs, so I said I'll take 8 to make sure it would get me off those. He agreed, and said if i need more two hours later, take another. Anyway, to make a long story short, I ended up extremely sick the next day.
Avatar m tn i really dont have the answers to your specif questions, but i did want to let you know, you are playing a dangerous game. i hope you wake up and stop the recreational use before you find its too late. it will sneak up on you and usually by the time you figure out you have a problem it is a full blown addiction and completely in control of you. good luck and keep reading the post here to get an idea of how the oxys will take over your life.
Avatar m tn If hydrocodone is abused pretty heavily for about two weeks then stopped for 4-6 days (with basically no to minimal withdrawal symptoms) then started again would the person be starting all over or has he just not started the w/d yet and is prolonging it?
Avatar m tn I have a prescription for hydrocodone 5/500. I have been taking a 1/2 of 7.5/750 nightly. Will a urine or hair drug test be able to tell the difference in my taking 1/2 of 7.5/750 versus my prescription for 5/500?
429155 tn?1205673264 Have been off oxycontin 10 days now, after the first 5 nights with only about 6hrs sleep total I took sleeping pills, they did the trick, BUT, I have since looked up the brand ( zimovane ), and it appears they can become addictive, HELL, my oxy tabs were for pain not recreational and the withdrawals were severe, can anybody give any advice, I still get the Restless Leg Syndrome, and find it very hard to nod off, should I kick the sleepers into touch, ( 5 days using ) and try and do things the na
Avatar f tn I started to take lortabs as a pick me up as I worked. I waited tables at that time. I was a recreational heroin user as a teenager but had long since kicked that habit. I was really naive to to think that pills were not a big deal... it seemed harmless in comparison to other methods of recreational drug use that I put my body through. I have been taking pain medication for 3 years now. The withdrawal is so hard it feels.
Avatar n tn The stim is helping a great deal but I am not pain free, my question is my dr. just started me on 15 mg. hydrocodone compound with no acetm. or ibupf. he was concerned about liver damage, I just recently came off 120 mg. er morphine daily and am opiate tolerate, I seem to have the tolerance of a few horses. I don't feel much relief with this new med,, is it straight hydrocodone if there is not acetm. or ibupf? I can't find any info about it.
Avatar n tn HI. I have been on 5-7 hydrocodone 10/325mg a day for about 2 1/2 months and have been through withdrawals before...not fun as most of you know. I have about 40 left and want to know if and how to go about tapering. I logically think it would be better to do but having the discipline to actually do it is another thing. Does anyone have an insight to this? Thanks.
Avatar n tn Here’s a little history. In November of 2018 I quit taking hydrocodone (first was 10/325 which made me nauseous, then lowered to 7.5/325, then down to 5/325) as the first of many drugs my drs had me on. I felt like I was dying, my body was shutting down. Scary stuff. I was mostly on psych meds. Took a year to successfully get off all the psych meds which was hell. I started getting neuropathy due to my brain and nerves readjusting. My PCP has been wonderful and supportive in helping me.
Avatar f tn It will be hard to determine exactly what caused the symptoms you described, but it was likely the hydrocodone. It can cause severe nausea, stomach pains, and dizziness. People occasionally have a bad reaction to hydrocodone even if they have taken it before. The symptoms you experienced were probably not due to an allergic reaction because they resolved so fast.
286124 tn?1214938528 thanks worried..i knew it was hydrocodone...but thats all i knew...
Avatar n tn All I can say is, you are in big trouble. I hope you live thru it.
3837157 tn?1348286069 You can call one of your local pharmacies for peace of mind, but there are no contraindications.
Avatar m tn The vicodin (hydrocodone) has acetaminophen as well. I'm not sure about the percoset, I've never had it before. BUT, if it weren't for the hydrocodone, I would not be able to work or get through even a day at home unless I lay curled up on the couch or in bed thanks to FMS and MPS. When I have bouts with extreme MPS in my back however, the pain pills don't help a whole lot. Just take the edge off barely. May God bless you with relief soon.
Avatar m tn I may be posting this in the completely wrong place, and if so, please know that I truly apologize. I've been taking these things for so long, that I feel like I need to "say out loud" what it is that I did. Your feedback, both negative and positive will be greatly appreciated. So here's my deal: I started taking "itchies" (to which we referred to lortab/vicodin/hydrocodone/etc as) back in 2004 or so.
