They are also experts at diagnosis of rare pain syndromes, like central pain, CRPS, and RDS. They treat LBP all the time.
Avatar f tn not sure about the content in the other 2 as down south lortab or lorcet is the one they prescribe...
Avatar m tn I know that a few years back it was being hotly contested in the UK because it was estimated that 1 in 4 20-somethings were taking OTC codeine/paracetemol on a regular basis. So, just a suggestion & I don't know what your condition is but have you ever explored non-narcotic pain-relief methods? Also, did you know that opiates actually lower our pain threshold? It's called 'Opiod Induced Hyper Analgesia'. Here's the Wiki on it: https://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn Morphine is found in opium, the dried sap derived from shallowly slicing the unripe seedpods of the opium, or common and/or edible, POPPY plant. Natural Narcotics also called Non-Synthetic are derived from the poppy plant which includes Morphine. They occur naturally and or better put, produced by nature. Synthetic Narcotics are produced by man in a laboratory. Hydrocodone is a Synthetic Narcotic. Jking is correct....

Avatar m tn In August I had an episode where I blacked out or fainted when I got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. My wife found me laying on the floor next to the toilet and I dont remember it happening. I should tell you that I dont drink alcohol and dont take anything stronger than an Advil or Tylenol anymore. After this episode I noticed that feet were starting to burn and my hands were frigid cold and I could feel my heartbeat pounding in my chest.
Avatar m tn well the worst part I think was that I was on the hydrocodone for RLS in the first place. I didn't realize at the time that coming off it also aggravates the condition. I suppose I should have done some research first.
Avatar f tn I have been taking hydros for about a year last 6 months everyday anywhere from 2-5 a day 10's or 7.5's. Last dose yesterday at about 8:30 in the am. I am having chills, hot flashes, anxiety, body pain, fatigue, sneezing and itchy throat. When will I peak and the body ache passes? That's the worst.
Avatar f tn Hydrocodone, 15 yrs., 8 to 10 10mg tabs per day. I was in the same shape that you are in. I also had legit reasons. We get addicted, just the same. You can quit. I did a real fast taper, like cutting my dosage in half every day, the c/t. It's no fun, but you will live through the physical withdrawals. It took about 2 weeks for me to start back up. Then you get better each day. I have about 70 clean days now, and I seldom even think about them any more.
Avatar f tn Hey guys, I'm at 4 days without hydrocodone and I'm still struggling with my body becoming weak. It's hard for me to walk around a store. How long does that last? Is there anything I can do to help? I've been walking every morning, trying to stay active. It's been raining here today so I went to the museum and it was so hard to walk through, I felt like I was dragging my body. I've been taking b vitamins and they help but my body is so tired.
Avatar f tn Tramadol (Ultram®, Ultracet®, Ryzolt™) From the way I understood it, to refill you need to get the prescription from your Dr and then take it to the pharmacy. No more calling or faxing it in. So the person in chronic pain has to make a trip to their Dr's office to either pick up their script or see the Dr first, then go sit at the pharmacy and wait until it is ready.
Avatar f tn I was originally on Hydrocodone 10/500 and got myself off of them. In May I started to see a new pain management doctor and he diagnosed me with all sorts of things and put me on the Fentanyl patch. Needless to say I am back at square one with these addictive opiates. This is worse though. I took off my last patch (75mcg) last Wednesday and finally starting to feel better. Can't sleep though and that is why I am here.
Avatar m tn You will probably have PT/OT, or in the least PT. If not, ask for it. That will help with the pain, plus the PT can help you learn ways to manage the pain in additiom to the meds. A wanring...on the other hand, you don't want to not control your pain either, and there will be times you will need the meds...don't be afraid of the medication based on your bad experience...okay? You're likely not going to be put on the heavy hitting drugs you had the issue with last year.
Avatar f tn There is a blood test that could be done in place of an in office screen, but as I said, typically, when there is an office screen, that urine is also sent out for confirmatory testing, which looks for all of the metabolites of the opiate as it is broken down in the body to measure compliance. There is very, very little false negatives or false positives in gc/ms or immunoassay testing. I am sorry you are going through this.
Avatar m tn I had 38 broken bones with many of these out of the skin. nine surgeries, my body is full of metal holding the bones together, both my lungs pumped out for weeks ,all my ribs broken on the left side and three broken on the right. My bodys bones broken from my neck to one toe. Avatar f tn 12 panel but they dont test for vicodin (hydrocodone) they test for oxycodone and opiates that are metabolized into morphine in the body, such as oxycontin, dilaudid, heroin and of course morphine. According to the pharmacist hydrocodone isnt considered dangerous enough to be tested for. I asked her 'do they live in a bubble or something??
Avatar m tn It is a sudden, and uncontrollable jerking of the limbs or body. I expierence this whenever i try to fall asleep on a plane or in a car. It seems anytime i take an opiate, in my case Oxycodone (percocet/roxicet), shortly before i lay down or try and fall asleep i experience these violent jerks. Id be laying down relaxing and all of a sudden my leg kicks, and recently my whole body just jumped. These jerks are very scary and only happen when i take an opiate.
Avatar f tn I am taking the stupid things because of chronic pain in my shoulder, then of course for the buzz...didn't start that way but I guess no one did....and the vicious cycle starts....seen it happen to a lot of people....and of course me.
12946799 tn?1427894912 I even added more Church and some other things. Just stay in the Light..Darkness will fall but stay in the LIGHT..I wish you the best. Bless It will get better..Patience & Time!
Avatar m tn Thanks for the advice! I've looked it up and asked a few other people and it does sound like that's what it is. It seems like I have the urge to stretch my arms and upper body just as much, if not more, than my legs. Like I have to position my body in a way like I'm trying to bend something if that makes any sense? Is that typically common or one of the symptoms?
