Avatar f tn I started going to a clinic 7 days ago to seek help for Hydrocodone withdrawals. I had been on Hydrocodone for about 4 years and my new Dr felt Methadone would help. Day one they gave me 30mg. I could not function and I was very sick, vomiting, etc. I told them that was too high that I wanted no more than 10-15 mg per day. I was a little shocked at their encouraging people to take high doses and increase 5 mg per day.
229538 tn?1300377767 Currently a prescription for hydrocodone-containing Vicodin can be refilled five times before the patient has to see a physician again. If the drug is reclassified patients could only receive a single 90-day prescription, similar to oxycodone. The drug could also not be prescribed by nurses and physician assistants.
Avatar n tn I had back surgery and have been taking hydrocodone for about 4 weeks. Before that I had bee taking it for back pain for about two months. I only take up to 4 5-500 tabs a day as needed. I have woke up twice in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and have felt very weird. It was like I was still sleeping or half asleep and when I went back to bed, when I closed my eyes all I could see was very strange things.
Avatar f tn I have taken hydrocodone for about 1 1/2 years now, just one, sometimes 2 a night. I can go days without taking any but on the average I take them more than I don't. But only one or two a night. I will stop taking them now that my pain should be gone and I'm wondering if I will have any withdrawal symptoms. As I said, I can go days without taking any so I'm honestly not sure if I'm addicted or not. Any answers or opinions...?
Avatar n tn And I am not even sure if you could call coke use recreational - for the people that really like it (your BF is one) there is no recreational use a time or two a month or whatever. Its a slow ride downhill to all of the negatives you have heard about it. I cant make your mind up for you - but I would say if your BF says he wont marry you without the other girl along .... send him packing. Perhaps have him read some things from the Grandfather of coke himself - Sigmund Freud......
Avatar f tn Not a question for me but Hubby... how many tried to cut back to a very minimal dose in an attempt to prove to others and maybe themselves they didnt have a problem abusing the pills? For how long were you able to do this? Is there a point during this that might signal that maybe Hub might have been abusing the pills and behaving in addicted ways but isnt an addict?
Avatar f tn I was really naive to to think that pills were not a big deal... it seemed harmless in comparison to other methods of recreational drug use that I put my body through. I have been taking pain medication for 3 years now. The withdrawal is so hard it feels. I just want to know is there any, and i mean ANYTHING, that aids with this opiate withdrawal?? I start feeling anxious and sweaty within 6 hours from my last dose. Diarrhea that feels like lava.
Avatar m tn Otherwise all drugs are krap to me, recreational use? What is that????????? I often thought I could use recreationally, trust me I was wrong. When in doubt, go without!!
1159193 tn?1265479257 I came across the new craze, codeine parties. People taking them recreational thought that was quite scary. Also when searching for codeine withdrawal you would get sites or pop ups selling you the bloody stuff. Same with people have a view of its prescribed it not dangerous attitide. What do you think?
Avatar n tn I have been given Hydrocodone 10mg/500mg for my disability pain since August. My dr set me up with a pain management specialist, who I saw on Monday. He prescribed me more Hydrocodone 10mg/500mg along with Contin MS 15mg. He says the Contin MS lasts 12 hours, is time-released, so I won't need to take as many Hydrocodone during the day (can probably go down from 4-6/day to 2/day). That's what we're aiming for, at least.
Avatar m tn s marijuana use is not deemed excessive and does not interfere with daily function, subject must be instructed to discontinue any current use of recreational marijuana prior to entry into study and throughout the study period
Avatar f tn s an alcoholic. When I finally told him that I was taking pills for recreational use he said nothing for fear of him having to quit drinking. (Just my thought on his thinking). We are both grieving and our marriage is struggling! Should I just quit cold turkey? OR have I even been on them long enough to be addicted? Thank you!
Avatar f tn ve been unclear about -- say someone takes hydrocodone for 15 years and then stops....being blood tested for all those 15 years with normal results. After ten years of no use, is it possible to have residual effects? ie- 15 years on lortab, no liver problems and no longer on Lortab. After 10 years off, liver problems start showing. Would it or would it not have anything to do with the hydrocodone? Sorry for all of the questions, I am always confused.
Avatar n tn Oh I also quit taking Ambien when I quit the hydrocodone. Now only take a Xanax in the morning and evening. I use melatonin to help sleep. It’s better than nothing. I don’t really know how damaging taking such a low dose every day of the hydrocodone is. I do know it sucks. I have real pain in my back and knee. I cannot eat Tylenol or Advil all day because it’s just as bad for my organs. I’m really at an impass as to what to do. Hate the pain, hate the pain killers. Any advice?
Avatar f tn I have been on mainly hydrocodone ( pretty high doses for quite some time typically 100-120 day) my pm dr put me on fentanyl patch for awhile and I asked go back on hydrocodone patch scared me. I have RSD alot pain swelling right shoulder and arm for almost three years now.
481056 tn?1240138727 You posted asking if it's ok to use recreationally not long ago, I think you got your answer just like we told you. Addicts can't use once, it just opens the door for us to spiral down and with each relapse it gets so much harder. Are you really ready to quit, because your stealing his pills and thinking 1 here and there is ok. You should focus more on the mental part, than w/d's, get some type of aftercare and talk to your hubby about this again.
Avatar n tn To joke about some one considering taking cocaine for recreational use who has had three bypass surgeries and is taking blood thinners is just a little reckless. Takes all kinds I guess........................
Avatar f tn Is the lab detecting minor amounts of hydrocodone -- then this is normal for codeine metabolism. But if it is detecting a therapeutic dose of hydrocodone, then its presence can't be due to the metabolism of codeine. Here's a reference for your doctor's use: http://www.wardelab.com/22-2.html#t1 I hope this helps. Best wishes with your pain management routine.
Avatar f tn Does oxycontin as recreational use exhibit symptoms of indifference and apathy and unconcern over everyday obligations and responsibilities which prior to use were contradictory to the persons character. In other words a complete change of personally untecogisable by loved ones?
Avatar f tn Another problem with tramadol is that it can cause seizures, which, while the potential for abuse is still there with hydrocodone or oxycodone, the chance of seizures is almost nil. With tramadol, the chance for seizures in higher doses is pretty good. Please be careful with tramadol (Ultram). It's not a great thing to get your body involved with.
Avatar n tn NOT FOR LONG...YOU MAY START OUT ONLY ON WEEKEND BUT IT WILL escalate. i used coke for 5 years heavily and i started out only on the weekends. before long it was everyday all day and every night all night. it is a horrible drug the eventually completely robs you of yourself.
Avatar m tn I take topical testosterone, lisinopril for BP, cymbalta for depression, hydrocodone for pain and robaxin as needed for spasms. I'm a non-smoker, non drinker and don't use recreational drugs. Please help me get an idea of what is going on. I'm scheduled to see a rheumatologist but can't get in for 2 months and I'm not sure I can wait that long.
Avatar m tn m not completely certain what other effects hydrocodone has on the body over long term use, but you start to get into real trouble when it becomes a physical dependency issue. Would be best to go the route of a non-narcotic medication for migraines, but easier said than done, many don't work.
Avatar f tn I am, or should I say was, a recreational drug user. In the last two months I smoked pot regularly and took approx. 3 vicodin 10mg and 1 percocet 10mg to help with back pain from a car accident. I don't regularly use pain meds and am far from addicted, I am just so worried that those couple pills hurt my little one. :( help!
Avatar m tn If hydrocodone is abused pretty heavily for about two weeks then stopped for 4-6 days (with basically no to minimal withdrawal symptoms) then started again would the person be starting all over or has he just not started the w/d yet and is prolonging it?
