Common Questions and Answers about Hydrocodone for fever

vicodin

Avatar m tn I too have been taking 750mg vicodin for back pain. I have been taking it everyday for the last 7 years. I tried stopping around 3 years ago and it lasted a few months and then I started taking it again due to the pain etc. I recently have gotten so fed up with taking these pills. I used to take on occasion 8 pills a day but for the most part I would take 3-4 pills everyday on a regular basis. As soon as I got up and then I would take some with me everywhere I went.
Avatar n tn Hello, any help I can get would be HUGELY appreciated!! I started taking vicodin 10mg/325 about 3 months ago. For about the last month I was taking it pretty regularly - 4 times per day. I was taking it for back pain. Anyway, about a week ago, I had a shot in my back to stop the pain and the shot seemed to start working a couple days ago. So, I just stopped taking the vicodin all together to see if I'd feel any pain.
Avatar f tn i am still waiting for my lab results, so i am not on any medications for lupus as of yet. i do take hydrocodone for my severe back issues, and even thats not helping with the pain today!!!! do you think there would be any benefit for me to go to the emergency room?? i mean, what can they exactly do for me??? i don't have a lupus dx as of yet, but it looks like the doc is leaning that way for sure.
Avatar n tn i have been with my boyfriend for a little over 8 months now and he is addicted to hydrocodone. when we have problems or he has problems with his work he takes them to "get high". he says that he has been trying to get off of them for 5 days now and he is still saying he is sick, ie having an upset stomach and votimiting. i have never been around anyone whom has been on drugs ever in my life and i do not know how to deal with it.
Avatar f tn I am worried for my daughter who has carpal tunnel. The company doc prescribed fioricet. Is fioricet ever indicated or used in the treatment of carpal tunnel? I cannot find one piece of literature to support this use of fioricet, online. Have been looking for hours. She is already on an antidepressant. This drug scares me. E.R. Docs gave her hydrocodone, and she took 17 in just two days! I got tvto surgery one week ago and was prescribed the same, hydrocodone. I still have 16 left.
Avatar f tn Is the lab detecting minor amounts of hydrocodone -- then this is normal for codeine metabolism. But if it is detecting a therapeutic dose of hydrocodone, then its presence can't be due to the metabolism of codeine. Here's a reference for your doctor's use: http://www.wardelab.com/22-2.html#t1 I hope this helps. Best wishes with your pain management routine.
Avatar m tn You will be fine, just go CT...It might be a little unfomfortable, but not bad at all!!! That is too small of a dose and over a short amount of time! I promise you wont be going thru crazy WD's...as long as that was all you were taking. I was taking 10 a day for 2 years straight and had bad WD's for 3 days and then was ok after the 5th day. Its different for everyone, just know that you will feel crappy for a couple days. You will be able to work and do other things.
2059984 tn?1330722704 My daughter is 8 and had surgery on the 24th of Feb. She isn't eating food. She can only drink water and juice. I give her hydrocodone every 4 hours. Now it's been a few days and she still doesn't want 2 eat. She yells and cries in the middle of the night that she has pain. She hasn't had any fever, I took her to the dr and they said that she is heeling. I just want to know if anyone has had the same thing happen with thier child.
Avatar m tn This only began after being on hydrocodone medication for a back injury for a month -- 10mg 4 days a week for about 4 weeks. Hydrocodone might have caused an acid imbalance in my stomach which coffee triggers to cause the issue. However, eating lots pizza or other food you think would cause the same problems, does not produce the same results. I also had a fever recently while on hydrocodon, no cold symptoms, just a high fever. I decided to stop taking it.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I have been taking hydrocodone for multiple issues for almost 10 years. It doesn't seem to be helping much anymore and I need suggestions on something new to try. I don't want to go to percoset, because it works post surgery where morphine does not. Tramadol causes me to have seizures (they think) so it's off the table, and they gave me demerol for dental pain once but it did nothing. So I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions on something new to try.
Avatar m tn I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me. Can anyone tell me if any of the following drugs can give a false positive for Hydrocodone or Oxycontin.
Avatar f tn I started going to a clinic 7 days ago to seek help for Hydrocodone withdrawals. I had been on Hydrocodone for about 4 years and my new Dr felt Methadone would help. Day one they gave me 30mg. I could not function and I was very sick, vomiting, etc. I told them that was too high that I wanted no more than 10-15 mg per day. I was a little shocked at their encouraging people to take high doses and increase 5 mg per day.
Avatar f tn But for right now, to deal with your withdrawal symptoms, see if your doctor can write you a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep, Clonidine helps with the creepy-crawly feeling and helps stabilize the blood pressure. All of these medications will make your life easier during this time.
Avatar f tn One tonsil stayed enlarged after the fever/sore throat. At week five I tested negative for HIV. In mid November I had the enlarged tonsil removed. All pathalogy reports came back normal. Also, this could be paranoria, but I have occassional tenderness under my arm and tender breasts. the tenderness comes and goes, never lasts more that a day. most recently, i'm experiencing s ingle incident of tenderness on the back of my thigh.
Avatar f tn He was on Lyrica, Cymbalta, and Hydrocodone (for severe leg pain), but got off because he thought that might be causing it. So far, nothing has helped. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I've been in severe pain for 15 years, and it keeps getting worse. My doctor put me on Hydrocodone 10/660 about 10 years ago, and it has worked wonders and kept my pain level down to a 2 (scale 1-10). Now, I'm told she can't prescribe it for me anymore, and has cut me back to 10-335. I feel like I've gone backwards in time. I'm back to soaking me feet in ice water, and coating my feet with Capazation, just for a little bit of temporary relief.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm just going crazy. I have been on zoloft 100mg for the last six or seven years, they have helped great for me. I take them for anxiety and slight depression. I have arthritis in both my hips and it's been getting severe, since July I have been taking 2 - 6 hydrocodone for the pain. It just depends on what I am doing. Last Monday I quit taking the hydrocodone because I was worried after talking to a friend that I should get off them because they are addicting.
Avatar f tn I've been given a bottle of Hydrocodone after getting my wisdom teeth surgically removed. I've only taken it 3 times because i believe i've come to the realization that i get really bad nausea from it, and have already thrown up 3 times (from one-two doses). I've followed the instructions on the bottle, but have discontinued use since yesterday, and since then have been taking Advil Liqui-Gels, but i am still very nauseated. How long would this nausea tipically last?
647120 tn?1256601651 My reasoning is that I could get a maintenance prescription for hydrocodone, which was working just fine for me before. I am pretty sure I need a maintenance drug, but morphine has always seemed to be overkill and not worth the weird side effects. I wonder why they are so OK with prescribing morphine and not lesser drugs like hydrocodone. I always heard it is because you need more and more, but don't you build tolerance with morphine, too?
Avatar n tn My son has been court ordered to a recovery home for six months. He has been there for five days he has been taking unknown amounts of hydrocodone pills . I'm afraid he will leave this place because he doesn't't know what he is doing then he will go to jail, any advice I'm so scared. They Don't give anything for withdrawal.
