Avatar n tn Hi, Are you talking about a malignant nodule in the lung? The exposure from the sun will place you at risk for cancers of the skin. While there are cancers of the skin that would have a tendency to metastasize the lung (melanoma), these would usually have a preliminary finding in the skin.
Avatar f tn actually sun is very beneficial to both you and baby, you need around 20 min of exposure to the sun everyday on your arms and legs, a little more if your dark skinned, your body gets its vitamin D from being exposed to the sun, otherwise you risk having vit D deficiency which isnt good, and you end up by having to take suppliments, just be sure that you dont go out in the hottest part of the day and if you do put on sunscreen :)

Avatar m tn It is possible that you have/had sun poisioning. Any antibiotics will add to the harsh exposure of the sun. That is why they tell you to try to avoid the sun if you can or use a high level of sunscreen if you are out in the sun. If you are not feeling better soon, you should see your doctor. Please be careful while in the sun while on these medications. It can cause some major symptoms not to mention the higher risk of sun burn. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar m tn Other symptoms may begin within a few hours of sun exposure but go away within hours. They include: Fatigue Chills Headache Nausea Solar urticaria. Symptoms may develop within minutes of exposure to sun.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar n tn I have been taking Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide (HTCZ) for high blood pressure since May 2007. Recently I have a feeling that the Hydrochlorothiazide is not working as it used to be. Will HCTZ lose its effectiveness after a certain number of years? Anyone know the answer or having similar experience, please let me know. Thank You In Advance For Your Reply.
Avatar f tn After moving from Australia to America, I had notice that my arms would get small bumps on them within a few hours of sun exposure that lasted anywhere from 10-20 minutes depending on how intense the sun was on the day. These bumps are skin coloured, smaller in size than a dot made by a pen and would itch for a short period upon erupting on my skin but the bumps themselves wont resolve until weeks later.
Avatar f tn To prevent solar urticaria in future, desensitization using phototherapy and photochemotherapy are often advised. In this we try to decrease the amount of exposure by gradually increasing exposure to the form of radiation that brings about the reaction. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

Avatar f tn I'm presently on atenolol 40 mg (along with hydrochlorothiazide) once daily. I will be transitioning to propanolol 20 mg (and hydrochlorothiazide) twice daily soon - my doctor wants me to transition by taking propanolol - 1/2 of 20 mg twice a day for one week and then the full 20 mg twice daily. Why? Won't that cause rebound hypertension? Thanks.

Avatar f tn Just keep your child out from the sun as much as possible. Observe if the rash persists only when there is sun exposure. Other triggers such as food, dust and change in temperatures may cause this. If rash is present in other parts of the body, then we have to consider sweat rash. Any history of flu or cough?
Avatar m tn My dermatologist stated that sun exposure can cause auto-immune problems, but I have found very little information to back up that assertion. I only know that I didn't contract this through intercourse.
1116801 tn?1292254540 With spring approaching, I’m curious about the effects of sun exposure while on traditional treatment. After 8 weeks of treatment and a harsh winter, I am already suffering from extremely dry skin but does SOC cause one to burn easier in the sun?
928057 tn?1250354954 I was wondering how often Pterygium is found in people who've had limited sun exposure and if its possible that I developed it from something other than UVB exposure?? I am a young Caucasian female. I don't spend much time outside, I am pale, burn easily - and I hardly ever expose myself to the sun. I don't go to 'tanning' booths. In fact, I tend to carry an umbrella on bright sunny days to ward off the sun. ...
