Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar f tn The newest treatment for age spots is an alpha hydroxy acid gel or beta hydroxy acid gel. Retin-A cream, alpha hydroxyacid peels, and liquid nitrogen therapy are other options. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar n tn The very best over-the-counter preparation that I have found is CeraVe Skin Renewing Cream Serum with Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid. This is available at Amazon. I believe that retinoic acid is the active ingredient. It is painless and works practically overnight. This is also much safer than the corticosteroid preparations. Probably any formulation that contains retinoic acid (i.e., Retin-A or other retinols) and hyaluronic acid will work. CeraVe is simply the first brand that I tried.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar m tn I will definitely ask my rheumatologist and my surgeon about oral anti-inflammation medication. Yes, but supplements I meant fish oil. Also, I have been taking hyaluronic acid as well recently. I never noticed a difference from taking fish oil for 2+ years. Actually... after taking hyaluronic acid for only 2 weeks, I notice a significant difference in how my joints feel as well as my eyes feeling much better; they have a much smoother motility sensation at the back of my eyes.
Avatar f tn Retinol (retinoic acid, Vitamin A acid) is a retinoid and vitamin A metabolite used topically for the treatment of acne vulgaris and other skin disorders. Like other retinoids, it is a potent teratogen following exposure in early pregnancy producing a variety of birth defects. When used topically, however, the risk is thought to be close to Zero. Elevated serum concentrations of all-trans reoinoic acid in early gestation are cnsidered teratogenic in humans.
Avatar f tn Some research has shown topical azelaic acid in 15% to 20% concentrations to be as efficacious as hydroquinone with a decreased risk of irritation. Tretinoin by itself has also been shown to be useful in treating hyperpigmentation of sun-damaged skin. Kojic acid, alone or in combination with glycolic acid or hydroquinone, also has shown good results. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn Can somebody from the old school on this hep.
Avatar m tn Hello, Unfortunately you have got depigmentation and sunken scars aftercontinuous picking up, application of mole removal cream and laser treatment. There is no topical treatment for this and I would suggest collagen or hyaluronic filling or laser resurfacing. Please discuss these treatment options with your cosmetologist. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
Avatar m tn 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery. Would you recommend it? What is the likelihood of success and the possible complications?
Avatar n tn I am afraid to use chemical peels on my forehead since this was a chemical burn from a glycolic acid cream. I have been treated with the candela laser for the hyperpigmentation marks and it seems to work, but takes a long time. The elure advanced lightening lotion made the spots on my forehead darker and have been advised to stop using any topical creams. I think the best option at this time is laser treatments. I will keep you posted and appreciate your time with this matter.
Avatar m tn For the skin thinning caused by steroid use, there is no topical treatment as such. However you can use topical vitamin C and vitamin E cream under a dermatologist’s supervision. Vitamin C promotes collagen production and in effect your skin will become thicker with regular use. Vitamin C is present in a wide array of lotions, creams and serums.
Avatar n tn I'm taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info.
Avatar m tn I am a male and in my teens and have Perioral dermatitis which I have read is uncommon, I know exactly how I got the skin condition from to much use of a Steroidal topical cream, I am now going through my second flare up - my last flare was about 2 years ago around this time, I think the flare up was caused by chlorinated water, which I read is not good for this condition I have been struggling to keep this condition under control and my treatment from my last time does not seem to be working, w
Avatar n tn Hi Urmi151, yes I have had this all my life but worse in my teens. I don't know if they have the same drugs as here in the US. You don't want to scrub the area, use gentle fragrance free cleanser and gently wash the area. Scrubbing makes it worse. Here we have Accutane, clinidamycin topical, and other drugs. I also used neutorgena face wash then at bed salicylic acid gel or topical. You can use OXY 5 or 10 cream. I'm sure others will have plenty more to help you with.
Avatar f tn local treatment with azelaic acid, salicylic acid, topical retinoids, benzoyl peroxide. Mild papulo-pustular (inflammatory) acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids, topical antibiotics (such as erythromycin). Moderate inflammatory acne: benzoyl peroxide or topical retinoids combined with oral antibiotics (tetracyclines). Isotretinoin is an option.
Avatar n tn So I have a cut on my head and am applying an antibiotic cream once a day to help speed up healing. This can't dry out my hair or anything, can it? I may just be overthinking because I have a tendency to do that.
Avatar n tn Hello, You should not use the wart remover on the raw skin as it may cause irritation of the skin. You can apply a topical antibiotic cream like Neosporin. If the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn t respond to over-the-counter medicine, you may need a prescription-strength topical or oral medication. These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil) Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone. It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
