Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.

Avatar n tn Potassium citrate is a potassium salt of citric acid with the molecular formula C6H5K3O7. It is a white, slightly hygroscopic crystalline powder. It is odorless with a saline taste. As a food additive, potassium citrate is used to regulate acidity. Medicinally, it may be used to control kidney stones derived from either uric acid or cystine.
Avatar m tn To treat edema you need to limit salt intake and if that doesn’t help you need to take a diuretic medicine. Salt is sodium and is hidden in many foods so read food labels and try to limit your sodium intake to less than 2,00 mg daily or less. “ Folic Acid Improves Lipid Metabolism and Reduces Hepatic Inflammation in Diet-induced Obesity and Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease.

Avatar f tn If you avoid adding additional salt to your food at meals that would help you cut 1/2 to 1/3 of your sodium content a day. Add additional spices such as pepper, garlic (not garlic salt), lemon, and onion to name a few. Sodium content is high in all our convenience and prepackaged foods, cold cuts, smoked meats (smoked ham, bacon, etc), canned foods (soups, stews, vegetables, etc), and cheeses. There are products out there that are made low sodium, so you need to read the food labels.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar m tn You are presently taking prenatal vitamins so you do not need additional vitamin/mineral supplementation. To help lower your blood pressure is to lower your salt (sodium) intake. To keep your sodium levels down, avoid high sodium foods, prepared/prepackaged foods, cold cuts, cured meats, and take away the ‘salt shaker’. Adding extra herbs and garlic/spices (without salt) to your food will add more flavor and you will not miss the salt. Hope this helped you.
Avatar f tn For those who have trouble tolerating salt tablets, we do have a list of high sodium foods, and in its currently (perpetually) work-in-progress state (pardon our dust), you'll be pleased to find that the part that has gotten the most attention so far is low-calorie and calorie-free high-sodium foods/beverages/condiments. http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Neurological-Disorders/Dysautonomia--Salt-Loading--List-of-Salty-Foods/show/989?
1375380 tn?1278892326 I don't take tablets but Cleveland Clinic told me to aim for 5000 mg/day sodium for salt-loading (I think that's approx. 2 tsp of table salt if I recall correctly, but don't quote me on that because I'm not looking at anything for reference right now, and things "off the top of my head" may be grossly inaccurate due to brain fog at times LOL).
Avatar f tn In the kidney, salt and calcium are co-transported, meaning they are pumped out into the urine together, therefore, when you have a diet high in sodium and your kidney is pumping that sodium (salt) out, calcium is pushed out as well as an innocent bystander. The first piece of advice I would give you is to cut down the salt in your diet. remember that it can be hidden in prepared foods, so you have to ask and pay attention to sodium content. Your goal is 2000mg of sodium per day or less.

967168 tn?1477584489 Head rush I don't get, but that may be from your blood volume increasing. Salt is notorious for causing stomach upset. It has improved over time (years) for me, but I also don't use much from the shaker. I eat high salt foods and soup broth, and if I add a lot of salt to food I'm preparing, I use Kosher/pickling/sea salt. It doesn't have all the silica and other additives, and for whatever reason doesn't upset my stomach as much, nor does it taste as bad.

Avatar n tn Sodium urate is 15 times more soluble than uric acid. When pH equals pKa (5.8), uric acid and sodium urate are present in equal quantities. As pH increases, the ratio of sodium urate to uric acid increases. Avatar n tn but unfortunately most of V-C tablets available in our market is formulated by (major proportion )Sodium ascorbate and(small proportion ascorbic acid). In iron transfer from Stomache wall ,sodium ascorbate will hardly contribute as it is in the neutralised salt form and that too with strongly associated with sodium. This bond will only break in acidic pH. i fully agree with B-complex idea .
