Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo

Avatar f tn Natural dog arthritis supplements offering your dog the correct amounts of Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitan sulfate, Hyaluronic acid, Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin C will help to relieve your dogs arthritis pain and nourish his joints. Should you want to follow up on this with me, that would be fine.
Avatar f tn Insufficient stomach acid is the most common cause of non obstructive acid reflux/GERD. My mother no longer suffers GERD or LPR taking digestive enzyme supplements (to help with digestion) and betaine HCL with pepsin supplements (to help with low stomach acid). The following steps help to determine your stomach’s acidity: 1. Perform this test first thing in the morning on an empty stomach (before eating or drinking) 2.
Avatar n tn I'm taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info.
Avatar m tn Ascorbic acid enhances absorption of iron and it also reduces ferric iron to ferrous iron which remains soluble even at neutral pH, hence absorbed thrice as much as ferric form or iron. It is best that you discuss this with your doctor also for proper management. Additional factors such as your symptoms present, condition and results of diagnostic tests are also important considerations. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn When you have stomach surgery, could affect the stomach lining which process esB12, and folic acid related. I was lucky, it was folic acid. But, my doctor told me hemotologist prescribed folic acid, and he didn't understand why, so I called hemotologist, and he was furious, and told me to report any student at clinic that didn't check and understand, he gave me word for it, macrocystic anemia, or megaloblastic anaemia.
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar m tn I will definitely ask my rheumatologist and my surgeon about oral anti-inflammation medication. Yes, but supplements I meant fish oil. Also, I have been taking hyaluronic acid as well recently. I never noticed a difference from taking fish oil for 2+ years. Actually... after taking hyaluronic acid for only 2 weeks, I notice a significant difference in how my joints feel as well as my eyes feeling much better; they have a much smoother motility sensation at the back of my eyes.

Avatar m tn Ok so i am 20 years old and i took accutane for about 3 months, then stopped due to lower back pain. After much research i found that the accutane dries up the glands that produce synovial fluid that lubricates your joints. Since then i've been taking hyaluronic acid which helps lube the joints.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.
Avatar f tn I had absorption problem with Armour due to severely depleted and stomach acid. Stomach acid signals the pancreas to produce digestive enzymes to further break down food; proteolytic enzymes are secreted by the pancreas. I have no issues with absorbing my synthetic T4 (Eutroxsig) regardless of stomach acid/digestive enzyme levels. Avatar m tn Magnesium can be taken with or without meals, but it is preferable to take it between meals for better absorption. Magnesium requires stomach acid to be absorbed. After a full meal, your stomach acid is busy digesting food and may not be available to help absorb magnesium. Also magnesium is an alkaline mineral and acts like an antiacid: taken with meals, it may neutralize stomach acid and impair digestion.

1654177 tn?1319838494 can-do-man, what about drugs that require acid for absorption? Do we know that our treatment drugs do not require acid for proper absorption? Do we know that taking PPIs at the same time as our treatment drugs will not negatively impact our chance for treatment success? Proton pump inhibitors do exactly that: inhibit acid production. To the OP: ask your doctor.

From the Endo Society: "Absorption of thyroid drug levothyroxine improves with vitamin C" "Certain medications and digestive diseases interfere with the absorption of levothyroxine, but often malabsorption occurs for unknown reasons, Licht said.
