Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar f tn I feel I may have done to much damage, and theres now not much of a chance of any mouthwash or toothpaste helping? My dentist reccomended a mouthwash to use straight after I had acid enter my mouth as an alternative to brushing my teeth to clear the bad taste. Is there a cure for sensitive teeth?
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo

Avatar n tn i am a bit nutty about avoiding cavities and i was in a store and saw this mouthwash (phos flur perhaps) with much more sodium fluoride in it than the mouthwash i generally use (act). so of course i bought it. just out of curiosity i looked at the ingredients yesterday and saw it has something called "acidulated phosphoric acid" in it. this freaked me out although i'm sure this is much different than the phosphoric acid i avoid in things like diet coke.
Avatar n tn I'm taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info.
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.
Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar m tn i ate pineapple about a week ago and i think the citrus acid burned my tongue, i got bumps on the tip of my tongue my mouth was really dry and my tongue was painful. I went to the dentiste yesterday and he examined my mouth and tongue and couldnt find anything out of the normal and he said that eating foods high in acid will do a number on your tongue but should start to heal in about a week.
Avatar f tn It could be an allergic reaction to the acid in the foods he is eating like canker sores ,it may be from the preservatives used in the foods ,for example benzoic acid and methylparaben or sorbic acid .Even gluten can be a suspect.Avoid these foods, and maybe get a mild mouthwash to help .

Avatar f tn About 5 years ago I had bad acid reflux, however was able to get it under control and not really suffer from it since. About 1 month ago I started to have a raw mouth: palate looks burned, inside of lips down by the jaw bone is super raw and swells when I chew food (not allergy as it’s any food that rubs it). Doesn’t swell to the point of dying but makes me super nervous. Anyway, does this sound like Acid reflux/GERD problem? I thought it was thrush but the medicine didn’t help at all.
Avatar n tn I am also having the same problem for almost 15 years. The problem is serious and needs an early cure. The more time you take, more difficult the problem is. You should visit a dentist first and check your oral health. Plaque severely cause bad breath and just dental cleaning may greatly reduce your halitosis problem. If the problem persist, do visit an ENT specialist.

Avatar n tn Not much a doctor can do - x rays - no treatment except pain meds. You might try getting some MSM and Hyaluronic acid from the health food store. Only thing that can heal cartilage. Don't horse around like that anymore. If your rib broke just messing around - think what could happen next time!! Take care of yourself. - Also take some vitamins to build your bones and body. Good health to you...
Avatar m tn Brushing and flossing alone does wonders, but if you want a mouthwash, avoid any with alcohol. Listerine even has a new mouthwash without alcohol because of what we are learning. ACT is a very good mouthwash as well. As long as it has fluoride, toothpaste is toothpaste, just find something you like using.
Avatar f tn Please add Omega 3 Fatty acids at a dose of 250 mg twice daily. Adequan and hyaluronic acid injections will also help. 451053 tn?1237577749 I am told chewing ice chips during chemo helps prevent the drug from reaching the mouth. Hand and foot syndrome is also a common side effect of doxil and some women hold on to ice packs and cold packs on their feet during chemo. In the meantime, there is a "majic mouthwash" which is an Rx that helps with a sore mouth. I am sure you will get many responses from Doxil ladies on this site. You should call her MD as well.
