Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar n tn I had great skin growing up, but recently my skin has been way more difficult to handle. I am a 25 year old female, and about 5 week ago I started getting hard, unpopable bumps on my cheeks and one on my forehead. They were painful and big, and I am still dealing with the scars. They flattened out and are still red, but I thought my skin was getting better and healing. Like I said, I don't get very much acne, so this is new to me.
Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.

Avatar n tn The skin on my cheek peeled off nicely, however the skin under my eye looks as if I have more wrinkles now (the skin did not peel off directly under eye but around eyes). When I put the 5% glycolic acid cream on I did not use any moisturizer and skin seemed tight for a few days (I was afraid to put anything on the skin at that point). My question is did I cause a permanent damage and will have these wrinkles under eyes permanently?
615350 tn?1272598969 Hello, For blackheads, cleanse the area thoroughly and apply a good mild exfoliating scrub on that. Apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide. Large pores can be easily dealt with proper cleansing and frequent toning and moisturizing of the skin.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.

Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo

Avatar f tn ve also been using raw honey most this time), my Neutrogena cleanser and moisturizer were used /daily/ until I switched out for the salicylic acid cleanser (for those few days) and appeared to be helping me heal the past week, and I haven't made any dramatic changes in my diet. Any idea? For now, I'm going to try taking an antihistamine before I fall asleep tonight and see how my face looks in the morning.

Avatar f tn Starting at age 16 I began using Retin-A (Tretinoin cream) to treat my acne scars, however, I did not use it improperly and feel that I still suffer from misuse. Throughout my teenage years I continued to mindlessly use it in very large amounts, even on my eyelids, and I noticed that it did cause a significant change to my facial skin altogether. I never did anything to treat it, but now thinking about it, it was probably severe cutaneous dryness.
630344 tn?1280104983 it is the active ingredient in clearasil vanishing cream and a clean and clear face wash...A lot of products use salycilic acid and I was told that is not safe to use during pregnancy.
476624 tn?1207849958 This recent outbreak (very itchy bumps) started when i added over the glycolic 5% cream a moisturizer because it started to sting and that was the instruction (may put over it to help out with the stinging/burning sensation) and this is the olay total effect moisturizer (which is been my moisturizer for almost 6months). Did it happen because of the combination of both? Can i get back to the treatment - maybe it's a normal reaction?
Avatar n tn Hello, For such type of burns, apply cool compresses on the area and do not scrub your skin or shave your skin and use a soft towel and gently pat your skin dry. Also use cream containing aloe vera and a light moisturizer or a dusting powder to relieve chafing. You can apply silver sulfadiazine (1% cream) on the skin except face and see if it helps. If the symptoms still persist then you should consult a dermatologist.

Avatar m tn 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery. Would you recommend it? What is the likelihood of success and the possible complications?
Avatar m tn Along with this one can also use a mild keratolytic such as 2-3% salicylic acid ointment or tretinoin cream. Lactic acid, urea, adapalene or tazarotene are also recommended in certain cases. Eucerin plus with AHA helps in exfoliation and moisturization but it is pretty mild. Cerave is just a moisturizer which would be as good as Eucerin. Cetaphil again is a moisturizer with no exfoliation . I would recommend the use of a mild keratolytic as mentioned above.
Avatar m tn At clinic, her ob/gyn can pore some acid to see the abnormal cells growth... The acid will turn warts into white color but it is not 100% guaranteed that acid will do the accurate work... In certain cases the acid changes the color of normal skin as well... Warts can be so small that those can not be seen easily... The cream that is giving you burning sensation on healthy skin is because the contents of the wart removal creams those tend to work the same way...
