Avatar m tn Some strategy to help toric contacts get properly oriented? Maybe lubricating eye drops? Drops of saline and multi-purpose solution don't seem to help.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar n tn m on doxycycline for a month. Taking omega 3 fish and flax, hyaluronic acid. Eliminated fluorescent lights, use anti-glare screen at work. No relief. Will it ever go away? Once I'm thru menopause? I'm wondering if I should see an endocrinologist. I've seen that as a possible link as a cause-cortisol levels out of whack. I'd appreciate any information that would lead to the road of No More Dry Eye.
Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar n tn I had great skin growing up, but recently my skin has been way more difficult to handle. I am a 25 year old female, and about 5 week ago I started getting hard, unpopable bumps on my cheeks and one on my forehead. They were painful and big, and I am still dealing with the scars. They flattened out and are still red, but I thought my skin was getting better and healing. Like I said, I don't get very much acne, so this is new to me.
Avatar m tn Can somebody from the old school on this hep.
Avatar m tn 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery. Would you recommend it? What is the likelihood of success and the possible complications?
Avatar m tn ve had my eyes dialated twice and in both cases (one with an optometrist and one with a opthamologist) I was told everything looked fine and that my floaters was due to aging as well. The MD did a very thorough examThe reason I made the connection was that hyaluronic acid seems to be involved in both cases so I was curious if there is a connection. If you don't mind me asking, why would joint inflammation be a cause of concerns for floaters...?
Avatar m tn Have you used Systane eye drops in the past without having any burning? (Note that what I'm about to say does not apply to Systane Preservative Free Vials.) Systane eye drops use a preservative called Polyquad [polyquaternium-1]. Different brands use different preservatives. The symptoms you describe sound VERY much like an allergic reaction to the preservative. I know, because I just found out I'm allergic to Polyquad myself recently when I tried a sample of Systane drops.
Avatar n tn I'm taking Ameriden Olive Leaf Extract - 6 caps a day, I was instructed to take only this brand. Plus Glucosamine 1500mg 3 X a day and hyaluronic acid (cushions joint) 100mg 3X a day. It'a lot of pills but would rather do that than take drugs with bad side-effects (had really bad reaction to Celebrex). You can go to the website Arthritis Help For Me ******* for more info.
Avatar n tn Mid December I see an ophthalmologist who told me to try several products VISMED, Celluvisc, Visine, and same dry eyes drops and an eye wash (boric acid etc) to take for a month. So I try to diversify to try the 5 eye drops I was given, after awhile little red lines started to appear on the white of my eyes, the old "veins" red spread.
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.

Avatar f tn Saw my gp/ dr she didnt even look at my eye just prescribed the drops..... i have started using them. I have never had conjunctivitis but clearly am being treated for it. However is it meant to hurt and swell quite so much and make you keep crying?
Avatar n tn I have tried Mederma, Scar zone, hyaluronic acid with vitamin c, scar guard, kelo cote, cortisone 10, and skin medica. Also using lemon juice, an indian volcano ash mask that is recommended to apply with vinegar (as it is a powder). I have been doing this for five months. I also bought a skin roller 1' with over 250 needles and have done two treatments. I am not really seeing drastic results, minutely at best.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.
17644146 tn?1458782868 I contacted the company and asked them if their Clear Eyes Pure Relief Multi Symptom Preservative Free eye drops had antihistamine (which I cannot take). There answer was "4/4/2017 "We like to advise you that the product contains the following ingredients phenylephrine hydrochloride, glycerin, hypromellose, citric acid, purified water, sodium chloride, and sodium citrate. We have no indication of whether or not the product contains antihistamine.
Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar f tn A small controlled study not too long ago showed that eye drops containing specially prepared castor oil was quite effective for those with meibomian gland dysfunction, so an OTC prep (or even an rx) would have been nice to have around: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19963428 For whatever reason, though, this specific kind of thing is not available. For a time, you could get it in Canada, but I think even that has dried up, so to speak.
Avatar f tn My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?
Avatar f tn I recommend you to visit your doctor's clinic to get detailed information about how to take acular eye drops & its dosage. A specialist in eye caring will going to suggest you in better way.
