Common Questions and Answers about Hyaluronic acid and weight loss

hyaluronic-acid

Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn Sorry about your knee pain. I guess the easy . . . well, not easy . . . but obvious thing is to begin working on your weight loss. I don't say that lightly, I've had to do the same and know it's hard. It takes effort and frankly, sometimes it feels like all I've got is my frig to get me through the day. ha ha. But I have tried really hard to work on this and noticed lots of things were better when I lost some weight. My gerd was better, my body felt better and my knees!
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar n tn Check into MSM, along with the glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. No chondroitin?
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo

Avatar n tn I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing. I want a product I can stick to. SO PLEASE what would you recommend I buy and how should I use it.
Avatar m tn This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions: 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery.
Avatar m tn Some patients swear by the joint supplements, such as chondroitin, hyaluronic acid, and glucosamine. There is some anecdotal evidence that these may help thicken the cartilage, but no strict research has ever shown this to be true.
Avatar f tn My doctor said that it was not much of a concern in the first trimester and suggested that in addition to my prenatal vitamins that I might also consider a DHA and a folic acid supplement. Good luck and congratulations, hope you are feeling better soon.
Avatar n tn Most people experience between 5 and 15 pound weight loss from a NF. If you have a weight issue and are looking for a medical solution, I'd investigate bariatric surgery. Keep us informed.

Avatar n tn I'm on week 31 of tx. The HepC is no longer active and I only have 17 weeks remaining on the program. The results are very positive. However, I still suffer from all the major side effects and had to go on leave to try and just focus on my health. The most important one to me has been my weight loss. Since the beginning, 03/09, I've lost 60 lbs and am still loosing. My appetite has been little to none, but I am attempting to change that.
Avatar m tn It might be something like acid reflux or lactose intolerance, however these wouldn't cause the weight loss you describe. I would recommend that you have blood tests done before your ultrasound. I doubt an ultrasound will show anything (the only thing untrasounds will sometimes show is gallstones, which doesn't match up with your symptoms). Something like an endoscopy or swallow study is much more likely to show something.
Avatar f tn You will probably start gaining weight near the end, but if your baby is growing normally and seems healthy, then the weight loss is probably because of your own body's health being improved. If your doc isn't worried, don't you worry.
Avatar m tn ve had my eyes dialated twice and in both cases (one with an optometrist and one with a opthamologist) I was told everything looked fine and that my floaters was due to aging as well. The MD did a very thorough examThe reason I made the connection was that hyaluronic acid seems to be involved in both cases so I was curious if there is a connection. If you don't mind me asking, why would joint inflammation be a cause of concerns for floaters...?
617141 tn?1225706428 heard about reflexology but read somewhere that certain areas should not be massaged if one is trying to conceive. and i want to consume green tea daily for weight loss purposes but again, i read that it contains caffeine, and an ingredient which doesn't let folic acid be absorbed in the body. so basically, my question for now is, how much green tea can i consume daily? and how much folic acid supplement can i take daily?
Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar n tn I have tried Mederma, Scar zone, hyaluronic acid with vitamin c, scar guard, kelo cote, cortisone 10, and skin medica. Also using lemon juice, an indian volcano ash mask that is recommended to apply with vinegar (as it is a powder). I have been doing this for five months. I also bought a skin roller 1' with over 250 needles and have done two treatments. I am not really seeing drastic results, minutely at best.
