Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar n tn I am 47, light complexion and problem area are dry skin wrinkles on forehead, laugh lines and crows feet and under eye lines. I have tried Olay regenerist, ROC and Garnier Nutritionist and currently seen ad for Hydroxatone that contains matrixly 3000, argireline and hyaluronic acid and is there anything you can recommend I use that can help minimize the wrinkles while adding collagen and elasticity to my skin. I am tired of products that offer a lot but delivers nothing.
Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn I probably was about 68 when I was first told there were signs of cataracts, and 70 when I got referred for cataract surgery in one eye. I went a year and a half more before having the second eye done, and it wasn't at the real necessary stage. I wanted to be eyeglasses free and was getting tired of wearing a contact in the second eye, so I pushed for an earlier date to get it done. I'm days away from 74 now.
Avatar m tn About two weeks ago (maybe 10 days) i started noticing floaters. I have visited two optometrists. One took care of the eye exam and the second did the dilation since I didn't have time during the initial visit. Everything "looks" normal and like most people, I was told that this is part of again and I'll have to get use to it. My question is: How many floaters are normal. I feel I have so many (30 or so) but they are very translucent.
Avatar m tn After a couple of ACL surgeries over the years due to sports injuries and regular knee pain ever since when exercising, descending stairs etc., I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, and about 5 week ago I started getting hard, unpopable bumps on my cheeks and one on my forehead. They were painful and big, and I am still dealing with the scars. They flattened out and are still red, but I thought my skin was getting better and healing. Like I said, I don't get very much acne, so this is new to me. About 4-5 days ago I noticed I started getting a few bumps on my cheek again.
Avatar m tn That eye is often dry, so the contact lens has trouble orienting. When that first happened, I repeatedly irrigated the eye with multi-purpose and saline to lubricate (hey, I have loads of the stuff!), and the contact lens floated into orientation, but then very soon got stuck wrong. This happened over and over. On research, I have learned that multi-purpose and saline will wet an eye in a very temporary way. They are not lubricants, and are to some degree anti-lubricants.
Avatar m tn Can somebody from the old school on this hep.
Avatar f tn Bur for deep wrinkles, botox shots, microdermabrasion, dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and Radiesse and laser treatment are used .I would suggest you to discuss about these treatment options with your dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions: 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2. One physician offered to perform a chondral transplant, consisting in taking fresh chartilage from my knee and implanting it in the toe, with arthroscopic surgery.
Avatar f tn Starting at age 16 I began using Retin-A (Tretinoin cream) to treat my acne scars, however, I did not use it improperly and feel that I still suffer from misuse. Throughout my teenage years I continued to mindlessly use it in very large amounts, even on my eyelids, and I noticed that it did cause a significant change to my facial skin altogether. I never did anything to treat it, but now thinking about it, it was probably severe cutaneous dryness.
Avatar n tn Check into MSM, along with the glucosamine and hyaluronic acid. No chondroitin?
Avatar n tn The very best over-the-counter preparation that I have found is CeraVe Skin Renewing Cream Serum with Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid. This is available at Amazon. I believe that retinoic acid is the active ingredient. It is painless and works practically overnight. This is also much safer than the corticosteroid preparations. Probably any formulation that contains retinoic acid (i.e., Retin-A or other retinols) and hyaluronic acid will work. CeraVe is simply the first brand that I tried.
757137 tn?1347196453 So I quit that and substituted vitamin B5 (anti-inflammatory and mucolytic) and vitamin C and mullein extract. They work well without side effects. What else can anyone recommend to further improve my result? I am still using an albuterol nebulizer and an antihistamine and would like to lower my dependence on albuterol. Many thanks for your replies.
Avatar f tn While pregnant do stay away from retinols which are anti aging. They can cause birth defects. But look for something that has hyaluronic acid in it which is a natural chemical our body makes which helps retains moisture by 1000x its weight. So it is super hydrating which will help reduce and prevent wrinkles.
Avatar n tn I have tried Mederma, Scar zone, hyaluronic acid with vitamin c, scar guard, kelo cote, cortisone 10, and skin medica. Also using lemon juice, an indian volcano ash mask that is recommended to apply with vinegar (as it is a powder). I have been doing this for five months. I also bought a skin roller 1' with over 250 needles and have done two treatments. I am not really seeing drastic results, minutely at best.
4591205 tn?1410605174 If she still had the stuff and gunk in her eye after her round of antibiotics and cream, I was suppossed to get her back to the vet. I have 2 cats and they can spread the bacteria between them, I was lucky the cream worked, but I would get yours back to the vet if she was mine...
Avatar m tn It sounds like this is some kind of reaction- I would think that you could repair it and that it should get better with time- but you really need a doctor to take a look at the skin in order to be sure of what is happening. I have a few friends that use products called rodan and fields to repair some damage to their skin- the products seem pretty good, so if you are looking for something to give a try, I'd go with that- but also highly encourage you to have a doctor take a look.
Avatar n tn All the advertised creams which claim to treat it are an eye wash and although tough for you,but the condition can be treated only from a plastic surgeon or a cosmetologist/dermatologist.Pls consult them for these pits. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
Avatar n tn Genigel, the new treatment, contains hyaluronic acid - a sub-stance found in the connective tissues of the body. When applied to gums, it provides a sticky film in which new cells and blood vessels can grow." "A week later, the teeth began to firm up. A month later, I could chew on them. The gel has actually made my gums grow back, which is something no amount of brushing or anti-bacterial mouthwashes could ever do.
Avatar f tn I am very into skincare and cleanse and moisturise my face every night and using hylauronic acid and retinol (with a formulated retinol eye cream) as I was told this might help. I drink 2 litres of water everyday and sleep atleast 8 hours a night so I can't figure out why this problem persists. It's starting to really get me down as it's very obvious still even with makeup as in the second photo.
Avatar f tn Acne rosacea is a potentially serious eye condition that can lead to difiguring scarring of the nose and face and cause severe eye irritation. Anyone with moderate or severed Acne Rosacea should see a dermatologist for clinically tested prescription medicine. I looked at Somaluxe.
