Hyaluronic acid and platelet count

Common Questions and Answers about Hyaluronic acid and platelet count

hyaluronic-acid

Avatar m tn Because you are asking about hyaluronic acid, and because of the recent addition of GAG's to pharmacy shelves, I think it's important to address a few points about the uses of these compounds therapeutically. On the up side, hyaluronic acid is the same from whatever source it is isolated, and it is so common in the body that it can be used as a hypoallergenic surgical material for reconstructing and building up tissues that are lost.
Avatar m tn , I was looking into the option of a combined hyaluronic acid/PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection - about which I'd heard great things - until I realised I didn't want to take the risk after the two half-botched operations I'd had done years ago. So I decided to simply take hyaluronic acid orally on the off-chance, and have had no pain since. Could be a coincidence but it could also be worth a try. Readily available in capsule form from multiple sources.
Avatar m tn Could it cause vision problems, I have seen that the main ingredient of restylane is Hyaluronic acid, I have found a topical cream that is 75% hyaluronic acid, I know this wont work as well but do you think this is an option or not even worth spending hte money on the cream. Any comments or experiences would be great.
Avatar f tn hi!im pregnant and just got the result of my platelet count which is 113 below the normal range.what is the possible indication with this result.
1084115 tn?1385228589 Only patients with cirrhosis or some other platelet count issues before starting treatment need to have their platelet count monitored closely as platelet counts under 20,000 can be dangerous. There is transfusion and a drug that can help manage very low platelet counts for this subset of treatment patients. Good luck with your treatment!
Avatar m tn Author information Abstract Mean platelet volume (MPV) is an indicator of platelet activation. Platelet activation and aggregation are central processes in the pathophysiology of coronary heart disease. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is present up to one-third of the general population and the majority of patients with cardio-metabolic risk factors such as abdominal obesity, type 2 diabetes and other components of the metabolic syndrome (MS).
Avatar f tn I also have facial neuralgia - glossopharyngial, and I have unexplained bruising. My GP did a platelet count , as I do have a mild thrombocytopenia sometimes, but he said that the platelet count is borderline abnormal, and not low enough to justify the bruising. He speculated therefore that it may be a vascular related problem. This is why I asked about the RA and retinopathy link. I'm awaiting some more blood test results from the opthalmology clinic.
Avatar f tn Hello, I went to the doctor to have a filler injected into the eyes dark circles area, the syringe with the gel (hyaluronic acid) was not new, I know because he took it out of a box but the blister was not sealed, I also saw that the gel in the syringe was not completely full, I saw that he took a needle with a cover from the blister, so I think the needle was new, and he placed it on the tip of the syringe with gel, I am worried that the gel (hyaluronic acid) has been contaminated with the bloo
Avatar m tn I had hep c and have cirrhosis my platelet count has been in the 80 to 90 range for several years. Mine actually increased on treatment with harvoni and ribavirin which I think may have been a side effect of the ribavirin which drove my red blood cell count and HGB down so my guess is as a oercentage my platelets appeared to rise due to the decrease in other blood counts. But yeah sudden significant drop I would ask my doctor about that.
Avatar f tn Sadly my Platelet count is ..........drum roll.....55 I have the infrequent bruising and little red dots from it. My doc said sometimes the platelets are shaped crooked so the test doesn't pick them up. I can tell you I think a lot about my platelets these days and wondering if and when they'll go up. Damned disease left me with all this damage. At one time a couple years back I was 145. I think that's in range on my labs.
1327032 tn?1288840755 In Feb 2010 I did some bloodwork and my platelet count was 257 thous/ul and I started treatment 5/21/10 well on 6/2/10 they did another CBC and it seems as if my platelet count is 145 thous/ul . Is this something I should be worried about?
429647 tn?1249753429 I have been trying to get my last cycle of taxol/carbo, but unable now for the last two weeks due to low platelet count. 1st week it was 80 and now has dropped to 71. Needs to be at 100 for treatment. My clinic says there isn't anything they can do for that count except wait. Does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone been there?. Thank you.
Avatar f tn What can I do to raise my count? I'm 38+1and its being tested weekly, and this week it rose three points but otherwise its been lowering. Is there anything I can do to raise it?
Avatar f tn A normal platelet count typically ranges from about 150,000 to 450,000 depending upon the lab where the blood test was taken. When the number of platelets is low (called thrombocytopenia), you are at risk of bleeding more easily than a healthy person. Such a low platelet count can be dangerous in itself. More importantly such a low platelet count is usually an indication of an underlying medical conditions. One condition that can cause such a low platelet count is advanced cirrhosis.
Avatar m tn After a transplant, how long should it be before platelet count and spleen size return to normal?
