Humira pregnancy

Common Questions and Answers about Humira pregnancy

humira

I don't know what your doctors are saying but I wouldn't continue to take it if you are planning on keeping the child. I have been on humira, remicade, multi stem cells transplant/infusion, and tofacinitib and my doctors have told me that any pregnancy will be a risk for the child as I am consider toxic even if I have been off these medications for 20 years.
Oh, she also found out she is pregnant, and due in February. She's worried about having to stay on Humira injections during the pregnancy, but her Dr. said she has to. We'll be saying lots of prayers. When she had her blood work done on Monday, the Dr. called the next day and said her Crohn's numbers are down in the normal range, isn't that amazing? She can't remember the last time it was! Anyway, good luck with the Humira, and I pray that you've also found help in paying for it.
Hi, I have talked to women who have stopped taking it during their pregnancy, but not any who have stayed on it although I know they are out there. From what I understand, there are very few studies on the affects of Humira on pregnancy. So far, those studies have not revealed anything but there has not been enough research to state clearly whether it is safe or not during pregnancy.
Has anybody ever used Humira to help get there TH1 (cytokine level) down? If so have been successfull with it and maybe had to use it during a positive pregnancy?
had told her that if she were to get pregnant, she should stay on the Humira during the entire pregnancy. Has anyone else been on Humira while pregnant, and if so, any complications with yourself or the baby? Thanks!
right now im worried about all of my medicines hurting the baby. im on Prednisone, Humira, Azathioprine(Imuran), and Asacol. right now im doing pretty good so i dont want to chance anything and just stop taking it, but im afraid of what all that could do to the baby. and my gi dr is out of town for a week so he cant tell me what to do. have any of you been pregnant while dealing with a crohns flare? or on any of these meds? any help is greatly appreciated!!
My husband is on many arthritis medications, I know he does humira injections, and he has told me he is on 2 other (oral) medications. One he takes one once daily, another 8 times a day. I have been asking him to tell me what they are so I can look it up to be sure pregnancy would be ok but he hasn't gotten to that! I remember reading getting pregnant would be hard on a medication that was suggested to him and I remember something about it possibly harming the baby??

I am planning to terminate my pregnancy, for very valid medical reasons, and I am rh neg, while the father is rh positive. I'm probably 6 or 7 weeks now. I understand that RhoGAM injections should prevent sensitization & fetal complications; however, the fetus is likely not viable, and I have no intention to carry to term in any event. In addition, I do not believe that rh incompatibilty in any potential future pregnancies will be an issue.
Now my doctor wants me to start humira, did any of you did take it while pregnant? I am 7 weeks pregnant. My doctor said it's safe, but for me, you never know and I always like to get a second openion.
I was put on prednisone and on a liquid diet (also have gestational diabetes). Nothing is helping. If anyone has suggestions they are greatly appreciated. I'm still on Humira and go in for regular iv fluids.
Over the past year my arthritis persisted despite doses of prednisone ranging from 6 - 40 mg per day and I failed on MTX so was switched to Imuran at the max dose of 150 mg per day. That didn't do the trick so I was put on humira in mid April. I am currently taking prednisone (5 mg per day and tapering), plaquenil, imuran, humira (every 10 days), celebrex (100 mg twice a day), elavil (low dose for insomnia and chronic pain relief), and a couple meds for GERD & Barret's esophagus too.
I am 32 a women 30 weeks pregnant first child. I was diagnosed with Chrons at 23 years old was on humira till I went off due to pregnancy complete remission when I went off. I had my gallbladder out two years ago and felt awesome since even went down in humira dosage. My husband and I had issues getting pregnant so we did IVF and sure enough it worked! Got positive confirmation in July 2013 and stopped humira that month. Symptoms started August 23 2013.
I do believe that my GI doctor made some mistakes during these years by putting me on prednisone on high dose for such a long time, also he wanted to put me on Humira during my pregnancy, Humira is kind of new, so, I refused to for the sake of my baby. I switched to a different hospital, different doctor. My new GI doctor started my on Remicade, I had very bad side effect, my arm was stiff and sore, so as my jaw. Yet, he wants to continue with Remicade. What should I do?!!!!!!!!
I have low LADs - which are the pregnancy blocking antibodies. Basically my body is not protecting a fetus that is trying to implant and my body kills it before it can implant. I have high natural killer cells. These are the cells that fight infections. These are great if you don't want to get pregnant because you will rarely get sick. I am positive for 1 of the MTHFR's.
) My name is Katie by the way. Enjoy your pregnancy..its a great thing.
Condoms gave me hella yeast infections... not that it's an excuse for not using them when I knew the risk for pregnancy was higher. My biggest concerns are about continuing using birth control if I am pregnant (Loestrine FE) and if I should be concerned about the other medications I'm on (Humira- an immune supressing injection). We're certainly not trying to start a family but we're in agreement that marriage has been in our near future for a while and speeding up the process isn't a problem.
Limit fibers in diet or eat moderately. Too much fibers can cause diarrhea and gas. Usually, pregnancy itself lessens the symptoms. Also, if need be you an take aminosalicylates under expert guidance as this group of drugs does not affect the baby either in mother’s womb or during breast feeding. Biologic drugs such as adalimumab (Humira) and infliximab (Remicade) can also be started later in pregnancy. Discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
I just did a community search for mask of pregnancy and WOW .. look at all the results you will get from thyroid community . the box is upper right hand corner right above Recent Activity!!!! Sorry, i had trouble using cut and paste for the link.
Haven taken a lot of IVF medications she also took HUMIRA under an immune IVF doctor's advice (a theory that one's own antibodies attack the fetus so if they are disabled then implantation can happen) After the three doses (30mg ) she noticed some facial tingling then a creaping parasthesis in the legs which over the prgnancy became more serious and moved to her ears being always blocked (like an otitis media ) with vertigo type sensations then pain in her neck (almost like a TMJ ) then also in
As MedHelp has grown in both number of members and the number of communities we have, the needs of these communities has also grown. Our Pregnancy communities would like to see different features than our Ovarian Cancer community. Out of this need, we came up with the Community Leader program.
(My ob says my hip/knee pain is not pregnancy related, maybe exacerbated by it though.) I was dx at 17 yo with rheumatoid arthritis however then told 10 years later they'd rather call it undifferentiated connective tissue disease. I hate listing all the oddities/maybe symptoms so I won't. Mainly I can't stand being in pain - all the time and sometimes I worry if it's this bad at 34 what am I looking at down the road?
We had a followup appt with the RE yesterday in regards to the recent 'chemical pregnancy'/miscarriage. We went to yesterday's appt armed with questions ready to ask the doc in regards to why I keep getting pregnant via IVF but miscarrying. Is it me? Blood clotting issue? Uterus? Embryos? Can I carry? Where's the problem?
My joint pain started with my last pregnancy, escalated until I finally got dx over a year ago with hcv.

are addressed on all the web sites of the drugs and in the medication pamphlets. Mainly addressing pregnancy, anemia, neutropenia, and about 100 other possible side effects. I had not heard that Kaiser and Mayo stopped using Vic and Inc. If you find the link will you post it?
I tried Prednasone, Flector patches (almost made me pass out) and she wants me to take Humira but I refuse. I also tried giving up gluten which didn't help. I might need to give up all grains or dairy to see improvement. I hope some of these supplements will help you. Good luck!
