humira

Avatar f tn Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.
158939 tn?1274915197 Hello. I am not on Humira (yet) but have talked to many people who are. From what I understand, what you are experiencing is normal and that it gets better after several injections. I have also heard that you may feel better if you inject it right before bed so you can sleep through most of the side effects. Please let us know how you do and if you develop any other side effects.
Avatar f tn Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?
Avatar m tn i currently have been taking humira for about a year. i have not been sexually active in that time. i googled the topic, some sites say you can. Am i misreading the information? Can the actual shot give someone gential herpes or is just that in taking the drug outbreaks more likely to occur and easier to catch? Can you only catch genital herpes throught sexual contact?
Avatar m tn My gastro is going to start me on Humira and my question is, does Humira aid with digestion and stop the diarrhea. Thanks!
Avatar n tn I have RA and use Humira/methotrexate. How long do I have to be off Humira to get a yellow fever (and/or tyhphoid) vaccine? How long to I have to stay off Humira after the vaccine?
154668 tn?1290115995 I heard from my trial nurse about keeping the bocep refrigerated. She said not to worry about keeping it refrigerated. They keep it refrigerated until they disperse it and we consume it before there would be any degradation. Another travel tip when you travel out of the country. You will not be able to send your dosing information. Enter information as normal and don’t send, but do save. When you return be sure you battery is charged and then send. It will send all of the saved data.
Avatar f tn If you are having problems and experiencing side effects, it sounds like Humira might not be the right one for you. Please let us know what your rhuemy has to say about what you are experiencing. I hope something helps soon as I know what a misery it is to be in flare.
Avatar n tn My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.
Avatar f tn Hi. I am not on Humira but have talked to many AS patients who have had great success with it. Most of the AS folks I talk to are on enbrel, but they are comparable meds. I hope one of them will pipe in here. Bumping this to the top of the forum will help with that effort. How long have you been taking the Humira?
686769 tn?1236272131 I am on lots of meds which are not decreasing the pain. My doctor wants to put me on Humira and I was wondering if anyone out there has had any success with this drug. I am desperate to NOT be in pain anymore. Help...
Avatar f tn As you well know Humira is an immuno-suppressive drug , which mainly inhibits TNF (tumor necrosis factor). There's a growing amount of evidence of the development of Autoimmune conditions, related to TNF inhibitors, such as Remicade, Humira and other biologics.
Avatar f tn Any body else taking humira? I have Ulcerative colitis and thats the meds they put me on. My condition is pretty bad because all three of my doctors told me not to come off the meds. That it could cause problems and early delivery. Any one?
Avatar m tn I have started Humira injections which is a tnf drug and since I started taking it three weeks ago I have had a constant headache. Is this normal as not even strong painkillers are helping.

Avatar n tn Hi Ketot. :) First, let me tell you how glad I am that you have found our Arthritis Community. I want to be sure you understand that the are no Doctor's on this Community. We are all either Arthritis sufferers, such as you or CP (Chronic Pain) patients. :) I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this itching. As I said, I'm not a Doctor, but it definitely sounds as if you are having a reaction to the Humira.
Avatar f tn I have not developed any bad side effects from the humira thankfully, and my DS-DNA is still negative. I am being closely monitored for SLE related symptoms just in case, but have had none besides the arthritis. Would like to know whic systemic, chronic connective tissue diseases I have one of these days, but, in the meantime, I'm happy with the combo of drugs I'm on....not entirely pain & stiffness free, but pretty close on most days...hoping it lasts!!!
1326907 tn?1274923270 Well, narcotics work wonderfully for the pain, however you can't live life being on narcotics all the time. How would you work/drive/care for your children if your head is clouded by narcotics? I was like you - I had awful pain, started Humira and within a few months felt completely better. I am still on Humira and haven't had any flare ups (fingers crossed so that I don't jinx it) for two years.
Avatar f tn Demyelinating diseases like MS can be caused by the use of Humira. If so, the course of the disease is variable and cannot be predicted. There is not much in the way of at home treatment that can be done for this disease. The same for polyneuropathy. You may consult your doctor and advance the date of appointment. Exercise, in some people, helps reduce the awareness of symptoms. Meditation also can be tried.
Avatar n tn Lantus can be left unfridgerated for weeks at room temperature and not be spoiled, as long at temperatures are reasonably cool, and the liquid remain clear. This is not, of course recommended. And not desirable. On the other hand, it will lose effectiveness, which means you may not be able to precisely titrate a dose. It's kind of expensive, so there is no need to discard it for such a short period without refrigeration.
Avatar f tn I am trying to find out if i were to get herpes would I not be able to fight them off because of my Humira. And would it put me in a higher category to get them when my immune system is suppressed.
Avatar f tn Hola, lobo....

Avatar f tn she does not keep the pens that are being used, refrigerated, only the unused ones. Although even though they are not kept refrigerated, they do seem to keep her blood sugars under control. I wonder though if they were refrigerated would that make a big difference? I will call her physician if necessary. I only see her once a week, another nurse sees her the other 6 days.
Avatar f tn I have very severe pain on a relatively frequent basis, about 2 episodes a month. I am on humira and it seems to be helping all the other symptoms but the pain. My gi doc only ever offers antispasmodic meds. The pain I am feel IS NOT cramping...believe me I know what cramping is. Not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. Before you ask I know it's not an obsruction...
