humira

Avatar f tn upper respiratory tract infection, headache, injection site reaction, skin rash, antibody development, sinusitis, and pain at injection site. Other side effects include: urinary tract infection, abdominal pain, and flu-like symptoms. https://www.drugs.com/sfx/humira-side-effects.html I'd tell your doctor you are experiencing this.
158939 tn?1274915197 Hello. I am not on Humira (yet) but have talked to many people who are. From what I understand, what you are experiencing is normal and that it gets better after several injections. I have also heard that you may feel better if you inject it right before bed so you can sleep through most of the side effects. Please let us know how you do and if you develop any other side effects.
Avatar f tn I have also had site reactions to the injection both times, rash. So I will probably ask him to give me something else, but I am not too keen on trying any of the other TNF blockers.
Avatar n tn Hi Ketot. :) First, let me tell you how glad I am that you have found our Arthritis Community. I want to be sure you understand that the are no Doctor's on this Community. We are all either Arthritis sufferers, such as you or CP (Chronic Pain) patients. :) I'm so sorry that you are experiencing this itching. As I said, I'm not a Doctor, but it definitely sounds as if you are having a reaction to the Humira.
1711722 tn?1356487554 I find that the injection sites start itching about a week after the injection. The injection sites also have a lot of itchy, red bumps around them. I take a Benadryl at night and apply hydrocortisone cream. I use hydrocortisone cream during the day too. It works for the injection sites. Aquaphor might work for your tummy sites. I was using just my thighs up until injections 11 and 12.
775302 tn?1253100505 My husband uses the Humira pen, too, and he says that taking it out of the fridge for a while before injecting helps to make it not hurt as much. He usually lets it sit out for about 20 minutes, and during this time, he puts an ice pack on his leg to numb the area where he is going to do the injection.
Avatar f tn you should always position injections at least 1 inch from recently used injection sites and avoid injection into tender, bruised, red, or hard areas. When you administer the injection you may pinch the area up when giving the injection (I hope that makes sense) Also you may want to apply a cool compress afterwards. This may help decrease injection site discomfort." That said, if this does not work out for you, I hear that enbrel stings but is not painful.
Avatar n tn I know this is a weird question however my husband just started on it and I am afraid that I am having a reaction to it. I have allergies to Sulfa, PCN, biaxin, macrodantin..As well as a milk allergy and strawberries.
1752948 tn?1466354161 I noticed that my injection site looks okay for a few days after the injection, maybe very slight redness or maybe none. About 6 days after an injection the site, including the surrounding area about 2 inches in diameter, gets pretty pink-red and a little raised. It also itches like crazy. It feels warm to the touch (warmer than the rest of me). The site stays that way for at least a week or more and then gradually fades and quits itching (over 3-4 weeks time).
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else has lingering red/bruise marks at the injection site. I have taken 6 shots so far and still have a red bruise mark at injection site after six weeks. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if this is typical. Could someone please help me out here. Kinda nervious about giving the shot tonight.

Avatar f tn http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/326489?personal_page_id=1282072 If all else fails you could always contact Pegasys at 1-877-Pegasys (1-877-734-2797) or check out the web site Pegasys.com. ________________ Either way you could call your doctor on Monday morning but based on what you describe and what it says in the book it sounds like a common occurrence that may very well resolve on its own. _____________ Here is a link that explains how to administer a subcutaneous injection.
Avatar f tn The spot on my right leg also got bigger with my arm injection, and neither lumps seem to want to go away now! I wanted to see if anyone else has had this reaction- the injection site healing, then cropping back up a few days later. Any info would be appreciated, thank you!
Avatar f tn I think almost everyone gets these injection sites reaactions initially on copaxone. As Alex says, it is a trade-off compared to the alternative of doing no treatment at all. For most of us, the reaction calms down as the body adjusts to this substance. It took a couple months for me before the stinging stopped. this summer I started in with small lumps from the shots - half-dollar size and smaller- and talked to SS about it. They said to talk to my neuro about alternative shot sites.
233622 tn?1279334905 You say "how can you mess this up" but I did at first, I hadn't listened properly when the injection procedure was demonstrated to me and I wasn't massaging the site after the injection, according to the nurse this could have meant that the drug was just "sitting under my skin". I must admit that massaging hasn't made much difference. My MS nurse seems more concerned about the reactions than I am.
Avatar n tn I think it was after some 6 months or so that I had the infliximab infusion on a Monday, delayed my mtx injection until the next day and had a violent reaction with pruple spots all over my body, very high temperature, nausea, vomiting, diarrahea and a pain up my spine. We agreed to stop the mtx as it seemed I had made antibodies against it.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I took my second shot today and I noticed I still have a slightly darkened spot about 2 inches around last weeks injection site. I didn't inject into the same leg this week, and I didn't have any swelling, itching, or anything else last week. After a couple days I noticed a darkening/reddening of the skin around the site. It's just a slight difference. So little that if I try to take a picture the flash washes it out. I will try again though.
686769 tn?1236272131 I have no noticeable side effects except for slight swelling/redness at the injection site on my stomach. It has worked wonderfully for me as I am actually able to eat food thanks to Humira! My symptoms are not completely gone and I still do have diarrhea quite frequently but for the most part my stomach PAIN is gone - which is great news to me. I have a hard time injecting myself with the shot but my boyfriend does it for me, which works great for me.
Avatar f tn I was using copaxone I did have a itch at the injection site and a lump that lasted for days sometimes weeks. Blistering I never experienced.
Avatar f tn If this was near your Humira injection site, this is a documented side effect. I hope you will report this to your doctor if you have not already done so.
997730 tn?1254278376 The last 3 of my injections have left dark circular bruises at the injection site. Previously, I did have some redness, but not bruising like this. (I'm on my 19th week) At first I thought that maybe I somehow caused it during the injection. But then the next week, I had the same kind of bruise. Now, after the last shot, this is the 3rd time I've had a bruise, and I used different spots for these 3, where I didn't have this kind of problem before.
Avatar m tn s on how this inflammation formed so quickly after surgery.
Avatar n tn ve been on Humira for about 6 months and I have been messing with my injection times a lot over the past couple months. Humira is the only thing that keeps me going, but I have to do it weekly. I noticed when I missed my dose, when I was doing it bimonthly, my symptoms would just keep getting worse. We did a few psychological tests to see if my symptoms were coming back due to an emotional connection. That was quickly proven otherwise as I started to vomit and have bloody stool.
400099 tn?1282954864 The things you are describing with the use of Copaxone are very common in the beginning of it's use. If there is any stinging, I would NOT use the alcohol wipes. I would clean the area with plain soap and water and dry. I am now in month 14 of Copaxone use. I still get welts and bumps. Sometimes the lumps are the size of a quarter. Some of them bruise. But I can live with that, because I know that I am taking a drug that is helping me.
Avatar f tn I changed to Humira recently and was wondering if anybody has had success with humira who has ankylosing spondylitis. Any feedback would be appreciated.
422881 tn?1257603579 I would like to avoid injecting in my thighs if possible due to the irritation at the injection site and the fact that my legs ache so massaging them would be difficult coupled with the irritation. I just took my 4th shot so no irritation there yet, but the first 2 places have a brown colored appearance and the 3rd site is still red, itches, and feels like a bad sunburn. All these splotches are not quite as big as a tennis ball.
Avatar n tn Dry or scaly skin is treated by any good moisturizer, but the bumpy and rough condition you describe sounds more like an allergic skin reaction than dry skin. Again, I want to tell you that injection site skin should normally look no different from the skin on other areas of the body. Below is a web site address for an article on insulin allergies, which are rare.
