if and when the EF gets below 30%, there can be a failure of the heart to pump effectively and blood will back up into the lungs causing congested heart failure...that happened to me about 7 years ago, currently my heart is the proper size and an EF of 59% with medication. You may be asked to have a stress test.

I have had Crohn's for 40 yrs; 30 yrs on steroids, 10 on methotrexate. Originally oral, 25 mg a week, but last 4 yrs weekly injections of 25 mg. I had a hemi-colectomy in March 09, with 15 cm of my small and large intestines removed. Unfortunately, I then had a big flare in late September requiring 2 weeks again in hospital. I was put on remicade: gastro said I would have only 3 infusions: 0, 2 weeks, 6 weeks, but still had faecal incontinence and failure to put on weight.

My BD has been maintained by Humira 40Mg weekly and Imuran 200Mg daily for over a year. Prior to that Humira was bi-weekly for about 8 months and Enbrel was used for about 8 months prior to it. All in combination with Imuran 150Mg or 200Mg. During this time I have had uveitis (lasted for about 4 months) followed by gastritis (8 months), followed by strep throat leading to chronic tonsilitis and re-occuring bronchitis flares for 6 months that triggered asthma and now back to uveitis...

My 16 year old daughter has a rare auto-immune disease called "Takayasu Arteritis". Her medicines consist of Prednisone 10 mg daily (down from 40 mg), Azathirophrine 150 mg daily, Methotrexate 1cc 25mg injection weekly, Humira 40mg 1cc injection weekly, & Levothyroxine .5mcg daily. Despite these medications, her Sed-rate ranges 13 - 40 and its checked every 2 weeks along with CRP which ranges 3.2 - 12.

I had an episode where I gave myself a shot of Humira in my stomach and ten mins later did not feel well. I felt very sick which traveled up my left arm into the side of my head and pain into the left temple into my eye which started twitching. The numbness has really never left except to say that it feels asleep and waking up. The eye twitching has gotten better but it's a twitching that circles the entire left eye.

Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?

I've just had my 2nd injection of Humira today (on 20mg, 2x month). Both times I've had no energy and felt bad for about 12 hours after the injection. Anyone else have this type of reaction to the injection?

Of course it seems a lot of folks have the same questions you do after reading humira info online - found a lot of questions asking if humira causes herpes. If you already have herpes simplex, either orally or genitally, it could cause it to reactivate. Most people never get tested for herpes to know that they have it.

im looking for any information on Humira,im having tests next week to see if im suitable,the doctor at the hospital said they have had good results,in patients with Crohns,but id really like to hear from real people who have tried it,any info good or bad will be appreciated, thanks

Hi monicaroni, I have been taking Humira almost 8 months. I take humira for Crohns Althougth reap the benefit for the AS. I am thinking that you probably had a concurrent infection brewing when you Started Humira. Good Luck managing your AS, I appreciate how difficult it can be with mobility issues, and treating pain.

As you well know Humira is an immuno-suppressive drug , which mainly inhibits TNF (tumor necrosis factor). There's a growing amount of evidence of the development of Autoimmune conditions, related to TNF inhibitors, such as Remicade, Humira and other biologics.

My gastro is going to start me on Humira and my question is, does Humira aid with digestion and stop the diarrhea. Thanks!

My husband missed his dose of Humira by 24 hours a week ago. He is now vomiting regularly like he did prior to his diagnosis. Is this normal with a missed dose? He has been on Humira since September.

I just started Humira (2 shots so far) and have had a worsening of symptoms since the first shot. My hands/feet have become swollen and my joints hurt more than before I started taking the Humira. My Patty was diagnosed with Heart Failure 10 days ago, he had been doing pretty good, not liking taking his meds but now he is NOT wanting to eat and when we make it liquid and squirt it down his throat, it has started coming back up. Those aren't the signs of ecstasy and certainly after a period of 2 months, the drug would be completely out of your system. I would go and have some blood tests to see what is going on.

You really need your doctor to give you an explanation about your report. Your report indicates that a portion of your heart is not beating properly and your heart is not pumping efficiently. Did your report give an ejection fraction (EF%) by chance? That would help. In any case, no one here is qualified to tell you the implications of your report, please see your doctor.
