humira and skin cancer

m having a followup with a oncologist/dermatologist because one of the side effects of Humira is non-melanoma skin lesions (some cancerous). Besides, once a cancer patient, always concerned. Want the remaining Humira shot in my fridge?

statistically 1 out of every 2-3 of us has hsv1 and 1 out of every 4-5 has hsv2 - a lot of folks who take humira, are already going to have herpes whether they know it or not! Of course you also can contract herpes simplex, either orally or genitally, while taking humira too. It also can cause shingles to occur - you'd have to have had chicken pox in the past before starting humira in order to have a shingles reactivation.

I changed to Humira recently and was wondering if anybody has had success with humira who has ankylosing spondylitis. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Anyone taking humira and feel like they are sick coming down with a cold for a week after injection? Not a full blown cold but the start of one. I feel like this always and this is my 3rd dosage ( counting the starter kit), so I'm new to humira. I've noticed if I'm stressed, I'll even get a sore throat. I know humira suppresses your immune system but are you supposed to feel like you're coming down with something every injection or will this go away with time?

he thinks that i will get some help from humira and i am to start that this week. i have done searches but only find info on humira induced lupus, nothing about treating lupus with humira. is anyone on here taking humira for lupus? any advise would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

Options--Go to a dermatologist. When using steroid cream put it only on the psoriaris marks, not on the skin that doesn't have red at all.It thins skin a little. I am in my 20's and I have some veins seem surfaced--I put it everywhere on accident. Do a light therapy box from Washu medicine or ask where one is. Just like at the Dead Sea spa in Israel I called and asked what there treatment was and then just did it myself at home. Sun, mud, sea salt bath and message.

There are enough other sites and posts of the same complaint and also in the first 6 months on Humira. It was about my 3rd injection I think when I started having tooth pain in my upper front teeth. Within a couple of days, my bottom front teeth stated hurting. I skipped a week of Humira under Dr advice incase I was fighting a sinus infection. Symptoms got better. Then I started back on my Humira last night and my teeth are killing me again.

Well, I personally would never want to do the surgery unless it was an absolute last resort. (I too have Crohn's and have been diagnosed for two and a half years. I am also on Humira and it took a few months for it to work, but it works REALLY well for me now.) Having any surgery on your bowels is a very very difficult surgery. I have been treated for rheumatoid arthritis with Humira for 7 months including a combination of Humira and methotrexate for the past 2 months. I also take 5mg of prednisone, and 6 Azulfadine tablets each day. I was taking Humira once every fourteen days and I am on 15mg of methotrexate a week. Welcome to the Crohn's Community forum Mark. I amm sorry I can't help you with Remicade, as my gastro refuses to prescribe it for me, because of side effects connected with my recent breast cancer. My Crohn's is kept under control with weekly injections of 25 mg methotrexate, and 3 mg tablets daily of entecort. I do the injections at home - real easy, only takes a couple of minutes, so no tedious 3 hr round trip to the hospital.

My husband uses the Humira pen, too, and he says that taking it out of the fridge for a while before injecting helps to make it not hurt as much. He usually lets it sit out for about 20 minutes, and during this time, he puts an ice pack on his leg to numb the area where he is going to do the injection.

At first Humira worked completely, but for the last 3 month I now have got again explosive Diarrhoea and bleeding. I spent a minimum of 10 times running to the toilet a day, and get anxious going out and that causes stress and then more flare ups. I had a SeHCAT Scan for suspected bile acid malabsorption which I have not got and is not my cause for my Diarrhoea. I also take 60mg and 16mg Loperamide a day but Diarrhoea will not stop, only with Prednisolone Steroids.

I was on Imuran as well as Humira and I never got sick, even after being around people who were. Maybe I was just lucky. Keep hand sanitizer with you at all times. Remember not to touch your face as well, and get lots of rest!

I have ankylosing spondylitis and just had my first Humira shot 2 days ago. Today I woke up feeling very achy, my nose is stuffy and my throat is scratchy. I don't know if it's allergies, an infection, or a side effect from the Humira. Has anyone else had this happen shortly after starting this drug? I am planning to call my doctor on Monday but just trying to figure out what's going on.

what i hate is the cyclosporine 500mg,and humira 40mg,thats for my psoriasis of my skin there side effects are the worst it effects my wbc which is .01%.i can't get sick.funny! they pulled out all my teeth so i won't get an infection.i have a warthins tumoron left side.now i found i have another tumor in front of my throat ,they done a biopsy but i have to do it again cause they need to use a ultrasound which i think he should have done in first place. what is your situation Sir_Osis?

I was diagnosed with hep c in 2004. I HAVE THE WORST CASE OF PSORIASIS MY DOCTORS SAY THEY EVER SAW. OVER 90% OF MY BODY. IT'S DEC 2009 NW AND MY LOWER LEGS ARE VERY SWOLLEN WITH SCABS ALL OVER THEM. i'm so tired i sleep 15-18 hours a day. As of last night I cant drive because I pass out 2 minutes after i'm drivig. I'VE lost 20 lbs. in 2 weeks and I cant eat. I am very nautious and dizzy. I think yhis is it for me. Any moment. Be honest. What do you think?
