Avatar m tn At the age of 75 how long will it take to regenerate the cells of a broken bone in a foot?
Avatar f tn thats causing my aches..but it seems like my joints and my muscles are aching so bad. My headaches have gotten better but I don't know why it seems like my muscles are just hurting so bad. I get this weird sensantion in the soles of my feet...almost like the floor is vibrating directly under each foot. Has anyone experienced this before?
Avatar f tn I have been noticing lately that often times, while driving I will get jumping movements in my right leg. My leg and foot are extended to reach the gas pedal. It doesnt hurt when this happens. I just notice that my leg is trembling or jumpy. Is this clonus? Simple muscle fatigue. Doesnt have to be a long drive or extended period of driving for it to occur.
Avatar m tn I've been having constant foot cramps. Podiatrist recommended some stretches and stuff, but also suggested a thyroid test. FT3 is 3.22 (2.57-4.43) FT4 is 1.17 (0.64-1.77) TSH is 4.24 (0.27-4.2) Anti-Tg is 41.14 (1000 (<5.61) So the TSH is just a hair too high, but the anti-TPO is off the chart. Is there a thyroid problem or not? What does this mean? I've got an appointment with an endocrinologist, but I just want to get ahead of the game.
Avatar m tn He could have a split in the nail (like when a human breaks a nail down into the quick) and it's very painful for him. He could also have something stuck in the pad that is so small that you can't see it. I had a dog that had a minute piece of glass stuck in his pad and he was 3-legged lame until the vet did actual surgery to remove the glass. I wouldn't give it even a few more days. If he is still tender on it tomorrow I would call the bet by tomorrow afternoon.
Avatar f tn Is there an agreed upon place (butt, back, foot, thigh?) to put the ice pack and/or heating pad to help sciatic nerve pain the most? If not, where has it helped YOU most effectively? I appreciate any and all responses!
Avatar f tn Hey everyone! I need some direction regarding my neck. My surgery was almost 3 years ago. My biggest problem is my neck. I had some PT way back then, but I've never really pulled ahead. I get this terrible fatigue--think holding your arms out straight with gallon jugs in each hand. That burn and then failure due to fatigue is the issue. The feeling really aggravates me...hard to describe, but I can't tolerate it and need a pain pill for relief. A muscle relaxer doesn't do it.
Avatar m tn 5 foot 5 inches and 110 pounds (in American units) is "on the leaner side" and perhaps smaller side compared to most Americans. However, Sri Lanka natives often have genes that predispose you to not being tall, and a diet (vegetarian based) that also limits your height. The good news is your height/weight (and genes/diet) limit your chances of getting Diabetes or Cancer. The bad news is you aren't as tall and filled with muscles as a Viking.
Avatar m tn Ankle Pumps With each foot separately or at the same time, point and flex the toes as if pumping the gas pedal of a car repeatedly, 25-50 times every five to 10 minutes. Ankle Circles With each ankle separately or at the same time, rotate the ankles in a large circle about 10 times each direction, 25-50 times every five to 10 minutes. Heel Slides (Knee Flexion) This exercise will promote muscle activity of the hamstrings as well as help increase the amount of knee flexion.
Avatar f tn Hello Dear, Primary lateral sclerosis (PLS) is a rare neuromuscular disease characterized by progressive muscle weakness in the voluntary muscles. PLS belongs to a group of disorders known as motor neuron diseases. Motor neuron diseases develop when the nerve cells that control voluntary muscle movement degenerate and die, causing weakness in the muscles they control. Onset of PLS usually occurs after age 50.
Avatar m tn Standing on one foot and balancing like this actually relaxes all of the muscles in your foot and leg, because all of the muscles are being used. You are creating and achieving muscular balance! Try to balance for one minute. When you start to become better at balancing, you can do two minutes or more. When you are done with your first leg, then practice balancing on your other foot. An interesting side effect occurs, and it is a good one! Your legs will be less achey.
Avatar n tn I am a healthy 18 year old female, and I was laying in bed one morning when I went to turn over onto my left side when I got a sudden, severe burst of pain shooting down from my knee to my foot. My whole leg locked up and I was unable to move that leg. Every time I tried to move it even a milimetre I would scream in agonizing pain. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance but this was unbareable. I had to call in to work as the pain went on for over 2 hours straight.
Avatar f tn In November 2014, I had a spine fusion from L1-S5, where they fused the 3rd-5th Lumbers with a "cage". That was anterior. Posterior, they grafted a fracture with a human bone. Since coming home last week from the hospital the top of my left foot is very sensitive. Now I am experiencing pain running down the exterior of my legs. I hate pain meds, and take one Tramadol at night.
Avatar n tn I had surgery about 15 years ago for a prolapsed disc,I completely damaged my sciatic nerve. I have had a drop foot ever since. Does anyone know if there have been any new ideas on how to help this.
1689801 tn?1333983316 Hi all, I have been dealing with "mild" spasticity (very stiff muscles but not deforming). I have been going to the gym all this year, but few months ago I felt like the treadmill had to be broken, because my right leg was sometimes dragging (just a little) on the belt, then I tried another but it was the same, so then I thought that maybe the right leg was longer than the left.
Avatar f tn Definitely sounds like you are having some weakness in your muscles to be causing your foot to point forward. Yes, when your gait changes, you are using muscles that will eventually compensate for the ones you're suppose to be using. Just as I had a wide gait (ataxic gait), I would be using muscles that were not meant for the walking, hence my left hip would have spasms as well as my quads, calf and arch of foot. It was quite painful.
Avatar m tn you contract the intrinsic muscles of your feet when you bend the foot back. when your muscles are not used to these movements, they go into spasms. i recommend soaking your feet in warm water and doing toe curling exercises: bend and extend your toes (like waiving bye bye).
Avatar m tn for a year now i have been having foot pain that goes into my calfs somtimes and in the fromt of my leeft lower leg with a bit of burning pain in my feet i was told it was planter muscle but my god its been over a year and i have tried everything is there anybody else like this ??
Avatar f tn This sounds like plantar fasciitis or heel spurs but you need to see your doctor or podiatrist to be sure. Treatment isn't complicated but it is important to get started before the pain increases or becomes resistant to treatment. People with MS can be susceptible to plantar fasciitis if they have tight calf muscles from spasticity but people that don't have MS certainly experience it as well.
Avatar m tn There is bearable pain alongwith little burning sensation in this area. There is no swelling. When calf muscles are sqeezed, foot passively reacts downwards. Episode began possibly after foot twisted while walking. X-ray of right heel (axial/lateral) done. Report reads amongst other things as- The lower end of the tibia and fibula otherwise are normal, but there is a bony projection from the posterior part of the tibia. Please guide/advice.
Avatar f tn I pull between about a minimum of 3 a week. Sometimes i will be walking and the bottom of my foot will pull, or i reach for something and i pull my shoulder or even stretching my leg out in the morning and ripping the muscle. I really want to sort this but i'm not sure how... Anyone got any ideas?
Avatar n tn Also, my the 4 toe on my right foot sometimes bothers me. I am 35 and have worn uncomfortable heels for years and my right foot is slightly larger than my left foot. When I begin to panic about all of this and look things up on the web my chest bone begins to hurt and I then feel like my throat is closing up. I've always been a rational person and of late am completely freaked out that I might have ALS and it consumes me day and night. Please offer some guidance.
1207048 tn?1282174304 stinging was really bad. On monday the foot muscles started hurting. The muscle under the arch has been sore for about a month, ever since I had a really bad (but luckily short lasting!) cramp. Since then that muscle has been sore and feels like one wrong move will cause it to cramp up again. On Monday the muscle along the top outside of my foot, the one that runs from the ankle to the baby toe, started hurting.
Avatar m tn For many years now I have been having severe muscles pain all over my body. Usually the pain stars at the back of the head and in a few hours its all over the body including both legs. I have been to so many doctors and specialists, orthopaedic and neurosurgeons'I have been taking all sorts of medication - the ONLY solution seems to have been DEANXIT - it worked miracles.
1336659 tn?1275890125 Pes cavus High arch in foot of a person with a hereditary neuropathy High arch (also high instep, pes cavus in medical terminology) is a human foot type in which the sole of the foot is distinctly hollow when bearing weight. That is, there is a fixed plantar flexion of the foot. A high arch is the opposite of a flat foot, and somewhat less common. The term pes cavus encompasses a broad spectrum of foot deformities.
Avatar f tn Okay, he said that he touched my foot and it stopped. I started laughing because I have seen my muscles twitch in the day while I am wide awake and really didn't believe that they twitch when I sleep because I couldn't see them. Anyway, I just wanted to share.
Avatar n tn My wife noticed the bone structure where my foot and ankle meet is larger than my left foot. Podiatrist feels ankle pain is attributed to compensation from the pain of the Plantar Fasciitis. I wear prescribed orthotics. The pain in the ankle area is horrendous when I'm working. With burning and sharp pain waves. I've tried forcibly walking with my foot straight, and my foot and leg feel as though I'm trying walk pigeon toed and the pain increases.
